They have fixed our dryer twice, the cooktop, a previous refrigerator and now our new refrigerator. I called 4 appliance repairs and this place was the only one to answer the phone. They came out that day. Repair took 3 weeks to fix my stove top burners. 350$ It took 3 visits. The tech was cool and very nice. I played phone tag with the phone receptionist a lot. They seemed to never answer when I called which was 5 times. I was working when they called me back each time but I couldn't understand why they couldn't answer at all during business hours. She was nice. The time taken and price was due too my 'stove is old'. We've called TAR twice. The first time for a glass top stove that I'm pretty sure almost caused the tech to re-think his career. I'll give it to TAR, they are super patient and professional. Even when the top broke (not the tech's fault), they replaced it as soon as possible even paying for expedited shipping. The second time I called was for a washer making really horrific sounds and out of balance. The tech came out, took a look and told us to buy a new washer. The part that was bad was so expensive to fix on a 10 year old washer, it wouldn't be worth it. He didn't even charge us for the diagnosis. For a repair business - professionalism, expertise, and responsiveness are all qualities that can impact bottom line. Honesty, however, is something that is worth more than all the rest. My garage refrigerator had quit working and after having spoken with another appliance repair company who would not work on the GE Monogram refrigerator, I contacted Turlock Appliance. I called on Friday and spoke with the sweet gal in the office and she was able to schedule us for this morning, Monday 9 a.m. Robert was on the doorstep at 9, professional and personable. I have a mess where he had to work and he was kind and patient and not at all judgmental. Called to have my dryer fixed and was told the part had to be delivered that it would be there by Friday and the repair man would be back Saturday to fix. Took the day off of work and he never showed or called. I called Saturday & Monday left messages nothing was returned until Tuesday. Said part didn't get there until that day. Had to call back 10 min after he left because washer was still mot working (he didn't test it before leaving). Had to call 2 more times because it wouldn't run. Owner came to my house after being dispatched via home warranty program. He came to fix my gas range, identified the issue, then said he would contact me in a day or two once the part was ordered to set up a time to come back and complete the repair. 2 weeks later, I had to call him to get an update. He said, oh, yeah that part just came in, we scheduled the service time and a few days later he came out to repair the range. After he installed the part, it still didn't work. He kept troubleshooting and found another problem that he had missed the first time. Ok, no big deal, it happens. He told me he would order the part and let me know when it came in to schedule a time to install it. Another 2 weeks and I called, and like magic, the part again, just came in! Ok, coincidences happen, odd as my timing may be. He came out again, installed the part and it fixed part of the problem. He then said that I needed another part, that he would have to order... I asked him if he could perform a full diagnostic, to ensure that this doesn't keep happening. He reluctantly agreed and found that instead of one ignitor, he needed to order 6! I was glad I had asked him to check, because I had been without a stove and range for 2 months at this point. Same story, I'll call when the parts come in to schedule a repair time. 2 weeks later I called, and like had happened before, my timing was absolutely incredible, in that the part had JUST COME IN! I also told him that last time he was there he scratched my wood floor by carelessly dragging my stove across it. He reluctantly agreed to repair the floor on his next visit, but made it clear that he wasn't very happy about it. He came out, made the repair to the range, ad said he didn't have time to fix the floor, but he would come back. I haven't seen him since, and he now refuses to pick up the phone when I call and won't return my calls. The repairs were mediocre, as I had to walk him through the idea of conducting a diagnostic, then he damaged my floor and refused to fix it. He also never called to schedule, and miraculously every time I followed up with him, he said my part had just come in. I would have given him a 1 star, but he did finally, after almost 3 months, fixed my range. The service was terrible, and his skill level was sub par at best, and he still damaged my floor and refused to take responsibility and repair it. I absolutely would NOT recommend anyone use this guy if there was any other option. read more
