When bringing things in takes a long time ie up to an hour for the staff to consider and then may or may not take anything. If they refuse as a courtesy they offer to take a supposedly donate. You are better off choosing an alternative to make money or give things away or donate. A big waste of time going here read more

May Wed. 27th around 1:50-2:11 PM My experiences here up to this point have been pleasant, but today the two older ladies working the merchandise resale area went out of their way to be rude and almost talking down to me. They repeatedly told me like if I didn't hear the first time the items needed to be on hangers before bringing them in. That's completely fine, but the tone was loud, hostile, and unnecessarily repetitive. It felt very condescending. At the end, one of the ladies, wearing a black dress with a kimono, told me that the items hanging were the items not wanted and that I was welcome to take the hangers with me for next time. Again, the comment came across as extremely rude and dismissive clearly items needed to be hung before bringing them but the anger in this women is extremely distasteful and won't be bringing anything to sell here again I understand policies need to be followed, but there's still a respectful way to speak to customers. I don't come here frequently, with gaps and didn't remember they needed to be hung prior I also checked the website before leaving and doesn't specify anything about hanging. read more

You do make a decent chunk of money if they actually do choose your clothes, but they are very picky in general. This can be a good place to buy clothes but selling clothes don't expect much money for them. Given that routine sales that occur your profit shrinks significantly. I'm going to donate to a woman's shelter in the future. It feels better to know it's going to a good cause. It's a business, so their profit better than yours. read more

I had sent them information of what I was bringing in and they said they would accept it. I brought in the 2 items and they offered a very small price on each one. This was a waste of time. These items were on the high end. They should have told me they don't take those kind of items. read more

Do not consigned in Turn Style Consignment. Manager very rude and not mentioning to read the rules always tried to hurry you up. Do not even put your designer clothes and they only pay $3.50, if they lost your stuff, they are not responsible and if you take your unsold garments even on the due date you will be charged. They are not honest and not telling you and aware of their rules. First time I did, and they also punished you to look for your item one by one to go through to find your item. read more

Judging by the other reviews, I was not the only one that had a bad experience. The old lady that consigned my items counted 2 pairs of shoes, when I brought 4 pairs, she didn't apologized for her mistake "on purpose". I brought 8 items to be consigned, 2 sold, 3 were returned to me, and 3 disappeared. I saw them the previous week before I picked up the items left. The kid at the register said: '"we have so much stuff" when I couldn't find the items. So, unfortunately I decided to leave those 3 items. But I'm never coming back. Very overpriced. read more

This was my first experience with consigning and also the Mesa Turnstyle store. 1. I took in a wool Western rug, rolled as it came from the cleaners 2. C. didn't unwrap it and didn't say what price--somewhere around $14-20. She asked me what wanted . I said $50. 3. I came back the next day and found it unwrapped, beautiful and perfectly brilliant in color and condition, and had a price tag of $26. 4. Came back the next day and it was sold for $18, and my share was $5.24. because $3 came off the top for the store. Another 20% came off with a regular weekend sale, and then they "fined" me another $3 because I withdrew 3 items that were priced way to low "to sell" and "buried" under a lot of other people's things on the shelves. I'd like to know where was the fine print that I should have read? My advice: lower your expectations and take things there that you would have given to Goodwill anyway. Better still, give your things away to someone who will really appreciate it and appreciate you too. For the price of a cup of coffee, I could have made somebody's day with a beautiful rug. read more

Worst experience trying to consign. I will take accountability for me trusting the place. I went in as a first time consigner. I explained it was my first time and they worker gave me a form to fill-out and said to attach it to my items and that they would get back to me. I never heard back so I called, and was told all my stuff is in a dumpster. Over $1000 worth of LL Bean clothing some with price tags still on them. They told me basically too bad, and that I can come dig in their dumpster for my stuff. I asked why I didn't get a call back before this happened and was told "we don't call people". I have never ever experienced such rudeness and will never shop at Turnstyle Consignment. NEW CONSIGNERS BE AWARE - DON'T TRUST THE WILL DO THE RIGHT THING! I have no problem with them not taking in my items, but to not call is a horrible practice. The person told me they would get back to me, I explained I was new to this, and the person should have at a very minimum call me or email to let me know. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION! Outside of the store being well organized, the service was terrible. In addition, they are incredibly overpriced for used clothing. I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more if they had great service. - I waited at the checkout desk for almost ten minutes because no one was there. I couldn't even find an employee walking around. - Examples of overpricing: a Chico's tank for $18, a Lulu's dress for $35, and an off brand blouse for $14. Although they have nice things, I brought some items in to consign. From my phone call all the way to the end of my encounter there, the lady was short and rude. I asked if I needed hangers and would I get them back. Her response was " we have our own hangers and we don't want yours". When I arrived I didn't understand the way they wanted to handle my things and after she sharply told me to "just hang them up" she said "haven't you been here before?" I didn't understand how their system worked and was treated like I was an idiot. I'll go back to shop but never ever try to take stuff there. I'll give it to charity first. Turnstyle used to be a high-end consignment store. It was beautiful, clean and classy. I have consigned there for several years. Plus, I think I have purchased more than I consigned. Since Covid hit, it's spiraled non-stop done hill to nothing more than the level of Goodwill stores. The girls who used to work there were well trained at making high quality selections of beautiful merchandise. The young girls who work there now appear to have no clue as to what Turnstyle clientele are interested in. The two older ladies are rude beyond words, almost defiant, looking for reasons not to select merchandise for consignment. I get the impression that if the taller, blonde lady doesn't like the customer, she won't take the items, providing a flimsy excuse, not a logical professional reason based only on her personal likes and dislikes. They have stopped taking quality, classy items like Chicos, Talbots, Loft, etc clothing. Now the racks are full of T-shirts with cartoon characters, no tags, unclean, clothes that would be wearable to the county fair. Refusing to take a new, never worn pair of shoes because they don't like the brand name but take in a pair of Vans shoes that are filthy and with worn down souls puts this store on the same level of the Buffalo Exchange located on a college campus. Their priority's for selecting merchandise is so upside down from what it ever used to be. Turnstyle Mesa needs a complete overhaul, starting with the inexperienced, rude, unknowledgeable employees to the very last item in the store. Turnstyle is another business that suffered at the hands of Covid. While Covid is long over, Turnstyle did not recover, sadly with nothing in sight to show improvement. Turn Style Consignment, Val Vista & 60 I have been a regular customer at the aforementioned store for many years, that is until today. I will spare you all the minutia of the play by play of the interaction I had with the store manager this morning. Trying to be respectful of her but I asked a simple question on how this particular consignment order was to be labelled, perhaps I thought I understood her explanation, but clearly did not when she caustically snapped at me, when I tried to explain myself to her, she went on about "how I am always like this when I come in the store" ... Well, that is blatantly false, and I said as much, because I am in that store at the most, 2-3 times per year. She continued with her berating... "Perhaps this isn't the best fit for you" ..."And when you act like this, it makes us not want to help you and make you happy". This is a STORE MANAGER speaking to a customer. WHY is she a store manager?! Is this the business model taught at this company? Until today, I have had nothing but pleasant and helpful exchanges with all the employees there, including the manager. As I waited for almost a half hour (this process usual takes at the most 10 minutes) while she waded through my items, and dealt with other people, I decided to see if I had a balance on my account. I went to the checkout area, gave my account number to the clerk, she asked for my ID and I gave it to her. She gave me my balance, and I asked her to print out a check for me which she did. Still nothing from the consignment area on any of my items - (35 exactly, which is the limit) - being accepted or rejected. I asked the clerk if she was the manager (The woman doing the consigning. I knew she was, I just wanted to verify), and she replied yes, I asked for her name. (I work in Customer Service and when this question is asked, the answer is just given.) - she asked me "Why"? I repeated, may I please have her name and she, very rudely barked at me that "I cannot give out that information. I asked why, she is the store manager, she rudely repeated again that she would not give me her name. Of course it is nowhere printed in the store, no business cards, no way of knowing the chain of command when wanting to lodge a legitimate complaint. In just disgust and frustration, I then just left the store, without my items knowing their fate. Hopefully they'll be donated because I am pretty sure that the store manager will not be consigning anything from me today. That's fine, that is certainly her choice, but I have been very successful over the years there (which bodes well for her store), and I now have no desire to ever return there, or to any of their other stores for any reason. In full transparency, I had uttered a few choice words as I left the store, but with times the way they are now and emotions at a heightened level, it's so sad and pathetic that people have to endure this type of unnecessary behavior from management who should really know better. I am not typically a person that writes reviews or complaints, but this time I felt it was warranted after this interaction. This is going to happen again to another customer, and I guarantee that he or she may not be as nice as I was. I looked at the AZ BBB and Yelp reviews on the store, most of them were in the same vain as this review. Perhaps some Customer Service Training for this woman, whom I can't even name, because that information is apparently unavailable to the public. She is in CUSTOMER SERVICE and the only service she provided this customer was being overly rude, insulting and obnoxious and minimizing the customer experience for myself, and other customers who were in the store. I listened to how she spoke to others, and it was in the same tone. How she ever got put in this position is truly unbelievable because she does not know the first thing about Customer Service. It does not even deserve 1 star... I have sent a letter to the CEO and the district manager of the company. Thanks to all the other wonderful people on here that have reviewed .. apparently the managers' name is Roxanne. Kudos to whoever managed to get that information because apparently it's unavailable upon request. read more

My general experience here is good. I consign here often and find great items when I shop. Tonight I came in at 4:45, 45 minutes before the last consignment time (5:30pm, per the recorded message) and when I walked to the consignment counter the women (dark hair, middle aged) looked at me and said "oh no, I must have forgotten to put the sign up. I guess YOU will be my last one." Sort of unprofessional. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. After I came to pick up my items she wouldn't make eye contact and I tried to be kind. I thanked her and she didn't respond. Again, unprofessional. Besides this encounter I'd give the store 5 stars. read more

She is a miserable person--snippy, condescending and bossy. I am a reasonable girl who doesn't get easily offended, but Roxanne is a horrible person to be in front of customers. Is being rude a requirement to work here?? Four employees in the store and ONE was somewhat profession and nice to me. The consignment employee made me feel bad for bringing in quite a few items (35- their limit) and said "well that's a lot of work". Overall really sour attitude (did not catch her name). The floor employee was eating while walking around the floor-super unprofessional (her name was Adele) . The cashier never greeted me, never thanked me for coming in, no small talk whatsoever, and I had to get her attention to check out because she was so focused on her computer. Oh AND she basically threw my receipt on top of my bag and never said thank you, goodbye, NOTHING. She literally turned her back on me after throwing my receipt (I did catch her name- Gwen). I came in with a heavy box and was obviously struggling. Not ONE employee offered me a cart or even a hand. I can't get over the absolute lack of professionalism and customer service at this place. This is my third bad experience here. Every once and a while I'll find something good but there's no way I'll be returning after today. Pretty good selection of men's clothes and even some new looking shoes. Even found a paid of cycling shoes with clips but not my size....too bad, seemed like a great deal. Not sure why tons of the reviews are bashing on the employees but after trying on some jeans and wondering over the furniture side, woman greeted me and asked if she could help find anything. Line was about 3 deep so decided to go back to the clothing side to check out. I will say the girls up front were little chatty but nothing unprofessional, just fun talk. It may smell like a goodwill store but that's consignment....gently used goods. Nothing a couple of washes and dry cleaning can't get out. read more

I don't think I've ever seen a store with so many rude employees. I have been a customer for many years, but no longer will shop here any more. The last two times I have been here they close the dressing room down 45 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING!!! I took off early to come shopping and had picked out lots of clothing, just to be told it was too late. Now, I sit in the parking lot, 45 minutes before closing and nobody is there except the workers!!! I asked them why do you even say you are open until 7pm when actually you are not because you can't try on clothing after 6:15pm. Neither employee would say anything to me at all! They are very short with you but as long as you don't care about the place smelling a little funky you might be able to find something decent. Twice I took in 2 expensive dresses from Chico's that were never worn and they refused them because of "deodorant stains"?! What's that all about?! I told them I wasn't happy with their decision and their response was "oh well!" The clerks are rude, and I think it depends on the day and mood as to whether they'll accept your clothing. I have been a customer at the Mesa (Val Vista) location for years--as a consigner and a customer. I love this store and the staff. Always been treated fairly and kindly. Shocked at some of the reviews. It's almost like I'm hearing about a different store. I have personally witnessed the staff being treated very rudely and downright bullied. Things said that would have sent me to the bathroom crying. Anyway, I have a whole lot of respect for the staff. Working with the public is a tough job. read more
