The older lady with short gray hair was so rude the moment I walked in. Who owns this place and why do they not get new staff in here? I understand that it must be a tedious job but if you don't have the attitude or patience to do this job then get a new one. The fact that there are so many reviews saying the same thing to me means there is a management issue or the owners just do not care that their staff is rude. If you don't want people to bring in clothes or it's not welcome then don't own a consignment store. People respond fine when you just tell them "hey we are on a long wait" or when given some direction. Not with short, rude, passive aggressiveness from staff. The owners should be embarrassed at this level of unprofessionalism. Also- they don't take things that look nice and are in style but looking around the store it's a bunch of junk. read more

This store (and Turnstyle in general) needs to readdress their model... the store on Bell Road is overly crowded, difficult to shop in with very low quality clothing mixed in with decent items. Furthermore, if you take items to consign, you may find yourself standing for one hour because you're not permitted to sit on any furniture and it takes them forever to go thru items. The bottom line is this store has too much stock and needs to clear it out more aggressively by running MORE sales! They are continuing to accumulate more and more stock making it crowded when they should have sales every weekend to move it out! Not a good experience. read more

As a shopper, I've found bargains. My low rating comes from a negative experience as a consignor. Of 12 items accepted, 3 were stolen, including a like-new Chico's sweater. READ the agreement before you consign. The percentage you'll receive is given, but the undefined "sales fee" is ANOTHER 10-15%. Stolen items are your loss. Upon pick up of unsold items, $1.00 per item is charged. Their first check was rejected by Wells Fargo. When another was issued, the amount increased because their system was behind on recording my sales. The $132 value of my items earned me $29.70. Shop there again? Maybe. I was actually doing a quick run to Walmart when I noticed the TurnStyle sign. Since I'd been scouring the thrift shops for some sort of a plant stand for the guest room, I decided to take a look. Frankly, I was quite surprised. I didn't find a plant stand but was pretty impressed with the prices and quality of some of the furniture. What a great place to check if furnishing a first apartment or when you are looking for just one piece for an office or a bedroom. I ended up with some reasonably priced serving dishes and a pair of earrings. I was not impressed with the clothing. Most of it just seemed old and tired. Help seemed scarce. I guess it depends on what you are looking for and how oftyen you go in. will certainly go back in the future. I may even consign some of my items that normally would have been donated. read more

I came in to drop off one lululemon shirt out of curiosity and the women at the counter could not have been any ruder to me. I asked a simple question and I was publicly embarrassed in front of all of the customers shopping. She basically yelled at me that this is "not like Plato's closet" and they do not buy outright, acting like I am so dumb that I have a question. I will never be coming back here. I've seen this store off the street for awhile and decided to finally check it out. Large variety of clothes and purses. They have shoes but they are on top of the clothes racks which is hard to see if your short. There is a center of glass case items that I noticed are falsely tagged one item said new with tags yet the bag was visibly worn with scuffs on the bottom. I saw a Louis Vuitton item in the case and asked the employee what the price was, she said $69. I was shocked. I asked her if it was real and she said yes. So I went to check it out and definitely didn't look real to me. I asked her where the date code was and I got a long "ummmmmmm" so BUYER BEWARE the store sales fakes and tries to pass them off as real. I thought about selling but after reading their policy and then speaking to an employee it doesn't sound worth it if your trying to make money. Might be ok if your already willing to donate your items, this way your getting something out of it but once she said they were going to charge $1 per item if you wanted them back it was a no thanks for me. After a certain period of time the item becomes "there's" I asked her to clarify what that meant. If it mean that they would just pay you out a low amount or? And she said you just didn't get the item back and if you did want it, it would be $1. 3 stars for the large inventory but the selling of fakes is a bad business practice and illegal read more

This is my first experience with this store. I brought in 22 items. The majority were Eileen Fisher tops and pants in excellent condition. The woman who checked them in said they would go fast and to call in a month. I did call this morning and was told 17 items were still there and they owed me 19 dollars. My friend went in and scoured the store and found five pairs of pants and no tops or dresses. The staff had no explanation and gave her my check for 19 dollars for three items. They stated "sometimes things get lost." I am not sure what to make of that or who has my stuff. My recommendation is to avoid this place! read more

You may like this consignment place, but I'm MY experience, it's awful. i recently brought clothes and other things in for consignment. The staff are all snarky and uppity and there isn't a friendly one in the bunch. It's a very negative atmosphere. They were quick to tell me I was over the limit in how much they normally accept, but they looked at it all. I brought in 30 articles of clothing with 25 of them brand new and designer brands, which they will tell you that's what they want, and they rare accept anything else. They ended up taking little to none of the clothing and brand new beautiful jewelry I brought in. As I left, one of the sales people gave me not so much as a grin and said in a nasty tone "You were way over the limit!" So tell me to take some back and come back another day! I will never step foot in that place again and I hope people take their business elsewhere. A customer should never be treated the way I was treated. My review is from the perspective of a consigner! This place SUCKS. Their customer service is the absolute worst! Their leadership is beyond TERRIBLE! Every leader in this organization needs to be FIRED! The lady who runs the region is terrible too! I dont understand how they stay in business. They treat their customers like sh!t, they dont communicate and their processes are broken! Twice I wasted over 2 hours of my time & gasoline trying to consign items: the first time they said we have so many clothes that we dont have time - WHAT?? this is how they make money - so today I went back and they weren't accepting clothes again. WTF COMMUNICATE! I told the girl that they should put a message on the website or on social media and her response was nothing I can do about it - WTF...They dont care about their customers at all. I come here often. I'm always looking for cool things and often selling things. Consistently your consignment team is rude. I just left there angry. Your signage isn't clear or consistent. Recently you put the white board outside stating you are full for the day..... wasn't outside. It was inside and read 'we are full in all categories accepting the best of the best.' No need to get an attitude when I still come in with my stuff. Maybe you should revisit how consignment works...you need both sellers and buyers. Check your attitudes. . read more

Don't waste your time bringing things in / they didn't even take brand new J Crew with tags but had crusty things on the rack. They constantly change their consignment hours but rely on your merchandise to sell. Bell road is even worse then Scottsdale road so if you must go to Scottsdale. They've lost all of my business today after I got the hours on their site / dragged things in in heat of summer and then said they are now appointment only. Shop and give elsewhere they won't be getting any of my name brands. read more

The store is very organized, separated by category (dresses, pants, athletic attire), by color, by size making it easy to search for items. I ended up purchasing some great JCrew, Kate spade items, and Kut from the Kloth jeans. The salesperson was kind and took great care in folding my items and in placing jewelry in a separate small bag. I ended up here during a conference when I packed for what should have been typical Arizona temps, but upon arrival we were in the 50s and 60s and wanted to supplement my wardrobe. read more

For consignment, they are particular on the items they accept but the items sell fast if it's in great condition. Turnstyle Ray Road and I-10....there should be an option for minus stars! I'm surprised they actually have a rating above1....went twice and both times the consignment section was closed. Answering machine didn't mention that. mentioned that to them and was all but ignored. if there was a pic of RUDE employees Turnstyle employees would be pictured there. Today one girl in consignment section was particularly rude and I asked her name. She said no and turned and walked away. I left and she actually followed me to my car and returned the Tommy Bahama shoes that she accepted five minutes earlier. Nice way to do business....NOT! I just left the Bell Road location for the last time. I've shopped there before, but went as a consigner for the first time today. One lady was very nice. I told her I was a first timer and she explained the process but the other woman was horrible. She was barking out orders to everyone and was incredibly rude. I was watching her do intake and it was like she was looking for reasons not to take items. Then she yelled at the other woman for taking too much. She took about 1/2 my things, which was fine but at one point when she was looking at a particular item she commented to her co-worker that it seemed nice and good quality but whoever it was cut the tag out and rolled her eyes and said "stupid". I guess she didn't realize I was right there. Then she basically threw the receipt at me and when I said "I don't have an account", she said well there's another person with the exact same name. Uh ok. I have a common name. I'm surprised there weren't 20 people with my name. She seemed annoyed that she had to make a new account. Really bad experience and I won't be returning - as a consigner or a customer. I can't believe a place that treats their customers that poorly stays in business - especially when they rely on those customers for inventory. Unless you enjoy being called stupid and treated like an idiot, take your things elsewhere. There are a lot of great consignment stores around. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called and asked when they stop taking consignments. The person on the phone said 7:00 but we may close early. After ready my entire evening schedule to get there by 6:45, I was turned away. The clerks aid the 'manager' closed them early. This is NO WAY to treat customers. If you're knew a customer was coming in, why wouldn't a business stay open to the POSTED HOURS? I spend HUNDREDS of dollars at this store. I will never go there again. There were plenty of people in the store who could have taken consignments. They stay open until 8 pm - so it wasn't like they were getting ready to 'lock up.' I really hope someone from management sees this post and reaches out to me. Very bad way to run a business. read more

I visit and consign here regularly and have learned a few things, 1) There doesn't seem to be any "hard and fast" rules on what they take/don't take. So if you take items in and they turn them down I wouldn't hesitate to take them back a second time when there's a different person at the consignment counter. I've done this several times and it turns out the the second time a different person takes the things the first person turns down. Seems like they lean more towards personal opinion than any set of rules on what they take. (Which I understand and see how this would be a hard thing to manage.) 2) As with any consignment store you have to check often. Some times I find great deals on high end things and sometimes the inventory feels very similar to goodwill. 3) Overall the store is always clean and easy to navigate, you can easily do a quick run through if you know what you're looking for. I had a groupon to turn-style consignment, so I popped in to use it and check it out for the first time. I was impressed. The place is clean, organized and the space is large. It's easy to find things. There was a variety of clothing for men/women (mostly women), clothing, accessories, furniture, housewares, linens, home decor items. The prices were very reasonable. The dressing rooms were spacious and had the right amount of hooks and hanging bars, that is major plus... I can't stand when dressing rooms are tight and the hooks are missing. It's a sweatfest in most dressing rooms and it's disgusting- not at Turn-Style, it's great!! It's April right now and they are still accepting winter, which was cool, b/c most places don't but they said they have space to store it for next season. I found a few good items, a top for $8.50, a dress for a roaring 20's themed party for $12 (it was on sale and half off!), and 2 vintage necklaces. I think I did pretty well for a first timer. read more

This store has so much potential. Unfortunately it is so poorly managed I seriously wonder why they bother. I still haven't decided if I would say they are badly managed or simply lack any properly trained managers. I certainly haven't met one yet that I would employ. I guess it's worth noting that I should have read the negative reviews before coming here, EVERY one of them is about poor management and bad customer service and EVERY one of them has been ignored by the company's owner). What makes companies successful, for better or worse, is consistency. You can walk into any McDonalds anywhere in the world and know what to expect. You can buy a Ford in California or Connecticut and know it will be the same. But at Turnstyle you can talk to five different people five minutes apart in the same store and get five different interpretations of what their policies are. If you do consign something, good luck getting your money. They have no organized system to track anything. You have to ask them item by item (preferably by walking in and waiting in line to talk to a cashier). You have to time your inquiry just right or you don't get your money and then when they do give you a check it only has "stock numbers" on it so you don't actually know what sold and how much you're getting out of the sale. You have no idea if any markdowns were taken or if they "disposed" of your merchandise and you get nothing. There are huge variances in attitude as well. Some employees are friendly and helpful and some are simply rude. There seems to be no one overseeing them to reward the good ones and weed out the bad ones. They will tell you that they ABSOLUTELY will not take a certain genre of item while they are standing right next to an example of that identical item. Huh? And the inconsistency rages on from store to store. While I am specifically reviewing this location I did visit one of the other local Turnstyle stores where the store manager refused to accept anything because the store already had "too much merchandise to sell". No, really, that's what I was told! So, wouldn't that be considered the manager's job to turn their merchandise faster or not accept things that people don't buy? In my humble opinion if I managed a consignment store I would never refuse to accept something that I could make close to a 50% profit on reselling. But, it is what it is. I'm sure they're not interested in my opinion any more than any of the other negative reviews, and some day there will be another tenant renting their abandoned space and life will go on. read more

if u like having ur time wasted and money drain come here. first off, there product is poor quality and overpriced. secondly, consigning there is a nightmare. the staff treats u like a burden, regularly rolling there eyes and being incredibly inpatient with confused consigners. the wait times are ridiculous and they don't even tell you when they've finished going through your items. i just sat there for an hour waiting for them to finish going through my things and found out she had finished them half an hour before i finally lost my patience and asked if she was done. most frustrating of all, they made a mistake putting me in there system which resulted in them deducting money from my account. the girl at counter even told me that they never trained her on how to use the system. so why exactly am i paying for there lack of ability to train staff. not sure, but i am sure i won't be coming here again. read more

I've consigned at the Shea location in Phx and never had any problems, but this was my first experience at the Bell road location and I won't be going back. I went in yesterday afternoon to consign some items only to read a sign on the door from management that said due to being backlogged from the weekend they wouldn't be accepting new consignments that day. I went inside anyway to ask if the consignment counter would be open tomorrow and they said it would be. I returned today to yet another sign on the door from management that said their consignment counter was closing at 2pm due to being short staffed (I arrived at 5pm. Insert eye roll emoji here). I walked in anyway and asked if they would be open tomorrow during normal business hours and they said they should be, which didn't give me much confidence. I figured I'd save myself the hassle of attempting to go back again tomorrow to potentially be turned away for a third time. In this case, two strikes and you're out. read more
