The store is great but most of the time I've been there, the cashiers have been very rude. With attitudes like that, I don't understand how they can be around people. They seem angry unfriendly and miserable. But the store is great. Some friends say maybe some cashiers are racists who knows. Most of the things that might need to be checked out has been by the staff and most of things are clean or at least wiped off...nice. Love, love, love White Dove on McDonald in Scottsdale. My husband and I have been shopping there since 2015. We stop in every week to browse and buy. We actually purchase more stuff than we need at our ages, but it's all for a great cause and we can always recycle what we don't use. Some of the staff always greet us warmly when we come in since they recognize us as regulars. This is the place to shop for unique items and great bargains. The quality of merchandise at this location is always impressive. And I absolutely love their book section. White Dove is a true treasure and they just celebrated 25 years at this store. I recently switched careers and needed to find business professional clothes as I've been working at home (where there's no dress code, haha) since 2019. White Dove not only had an excellent selection of blouses, pants, blazers, and dresses but also offers boutique women's and men's clothing options. I loved that they were arranged by size rather than by color as some other thrift stores do so it was much easier to browse and find what I needed. A portion of their profits goes to support Hospice of the Valley and prices were suprisingly cheap, especially as I was able to find many designer brands. I also happened to go on sale day, where tags were anywhere from 25-50% off or .50 or $1 off on all clothing items. I'm not sure how often they do this, but would recommend checking their website as this is a great deal! read more

I am OBSESSED with this place. So is my mother. We live nearby and will accidentally run into each other or text one another to run down because we found something the other will love. I recently moved back to town after owning my first home with an ex in Vegas. I searched high and low for thrift stores but we ended up mostly buying everything new. The Dove is exactly the reason I'm so happy to be back in Arizona. It's the best thrift shop I've ever found to decorate a home. Heck, they were my full interview outfit for my dream job (fingers crossed) and the outfit at the mall would have cost well over $200. They have everything from Chicago Bears or Cubs fan gear to fancy business-formal dresses. They are a better resource than the library half of the time and I've acquired over $200 worth of cookbooks in one day for only $10. The staff is so incredibly friendly, personable, and nice. And if you're a single gal, I think it would be written in the stars to find a guy that frequents here, of course they're budget friendly yet have a Scottsdale vibe going on (golf shirts galore!). Goodbye White Dove. Selection was horrible the service at the counter was just as bad. You don't find a bargain there at all this store used to be a favorite for me. I would pay higher prices because it is supposed to be a hospice charity. I won't be back. I did buy two frames for a project I want to do but the woman who took my money handed me my change without a thank you and then turned her back to continue conversation with the other people who worked there one of them was buying an article of clothing. White Dove Thrift Shoppes get everything donated for FREE! So why have they started pricing everything so high?? Oh, I know about how the money goes to help Hospice volunteers but why do these shops pay for the doctors and nurses and administration when they get pay checks too. This is becoming a rip off! You get everything for FREE! The prices should not be more than $5. The administration and doctors and nurses are lining their pockets. THAT'S what's happening to "thrift" shops. I love White Dove. I have found many high quality items at the Scottsdale location, including 2 Frederick Cooper lamps for $37.50 each on a sale day. Those lamps are worth over $200 used, according to eBay. You can find furnishings from high-end brands like Henredon or Thomasville, depending on the day, for so little money. That furniture will last you forever. Too bad I don't need any additional pieces! I have not shopped the clothing, but they are great on things like picture frames, candles, lots of glassware and bakeware, and books. They also offer discounts to teachers, military, and I think first responders. And there is NO tax to pay, either. They have recently renovated the interior, so it is a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Probably one of the classiest thrift shops you'll ever find. Check the chalk board to your left as you enter - daily specials spelled out for you by the color of the tag for clothes and/or by the type of item (puzzles half off, for example). Deceivingly large inside and full of deal after deal. You can easily get lost in their row after row and rack after rack of bargains. Everything is clean and clearly priced. Best part about this store is they have a dedicated room for their books - and even a place to sit and read or relax for a bit if you'd like. The workers and cashiers are always friendly and helpful. The store benefits Hospice of the Valley so while you are in fact getting great deals you are also helping a very worthy organization. Clean well organized thrift store with a great variety of items. I've been thrifting since my teens mostly for the joy of it, never do I really "need" anything. I love vintage items or something gently used that may come in handy. The pricing is high for most items, not all, just most of it especially considering these are donated items. Some families thrift since it tends to be more budget friendly. There are some thrift stores like this one that need to be cognizant of what people can afford and price these "used" items accordingly while aligning to their mission in helping their charitable cause. I'd rather make a monetary donation than pay for an over priced item that I don't truly need. The point of a thrift store is make multiple sales and unload the merchandise so a steady flow of revenue is generated to help the cause, but also beneficial for those wanting to stretch their dollars too. It should be a win win for the patron and charity. Would I come back, absolutely! I would visit again because the selection is incredibly vast and this is the kind of shopping I enjoy always even with teen daughter and son. read more

It is really a pleasure to donate to The White Dove Thrift Shoppe. Their "drive-thru" drop-off makes it extremely easy and quick. I took five big and heavy bags of clothes today. When I arrived to the side of the store where one drops off the donations, Sam promptly came out to affably unload the trunkful of bags. I LOVE this store. Yes it's a tad pricy for thrift BUT it's worth it because it's so nice. They have an incredibly variety of everything and you're always guaranteed to find something unique. Even if you aren't looking to spend, it's cool to go there just to see what they have. Right now they have this incredible Italian crystal lamp. Will I buy it? No. Was it cool to see? Absolutely!
