I tried to hit up just about every hill throughout the day but missed a few Because the place is so massive. This is one of my favorite ski Mountains because of the tree skiing options and how many Black Diamonds are groomed (it's so fun bombing down the hill just on the edge of being out of control). I did wipe out on the second to last run losing a ski in the process and sliding down the mountain, but was able to recover the ski after a short hike up for about 40 yards). If I had to pick a ski place where I came closest to dying it would probably be here when I came flying around a sharp groomed corner onto a moguled hill, but was able to gain some control before I became one with some pine trees. About a month before I came here I read that a woman got nipped by a coyote when she was tree skiing and they had a sign warning about a coyote there at the top of one of the runs, so that was kind of funny. I stopped in for some chili at one of the small hole in the wall places they have at the base of the Eastern side of the mountain and that was a really cool place with good food.

Ski lessons for the kids have been easy and convenient and they learn a lot. On one particularly cold day, they took a break at 1 hour in to buy the kids hot chocolate. Very cool. They're people who clearly love working with kids. In the lodge-There's also plenty of room for a non-skier to hang out and read by the fire, too. The drive up here is gorgeous too. We actually traveled for over 2 months this summer, and this was by far our favorite stop. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we extended our stay for another week. Just beautiful and peaceful and relaxing on the lake with so much to do. And the owners were friendly and gracious. The whole property is so well kept, and the cabin itself had all the amenities you could need. Lots of special, unexpected touches - like ingredients for making s'mores at the nightly campfire. One night, they put up a big screen and played a kid-friendly movie. Also, wifi was great everywhere on the property. Plenty to do nearby - hiking trails, Whitefish, Glacier National Park (of course). We picked huckleberries! Can't wait to go back!

The main building was empty except for a couple of employees selling tickets. I thought it could definitely use a refresh but we were not there for the lodge. We rode up 2 lifts to reach the top of Whitefish Mountain. There are two peaks you can take lifts up and we went to the higher peak for one if the longer hikes. Both lifts were easy to get on, getting off was a little sketchy as we had to quickly jump off and move several steps forward to avoid being hit by the lift. Thank goodness for the lift operator assisting people off the lift! I'm sure it's much easier to exit when skiing. The ride up was great. Such beautiful views! There is a small bar/restaurant at the top with amazing patio views and a restroom. We hiked down the Danny On Trail From the top. There are plenty of trail Markers so you cannot get lost. We did see a sign warning us of bear activity while hiking but we never actually saw any animal activity, not even a deer. A majority of the trail had beautiful views of Whitefish Lake. The lower part of the hiking trail was covered with dozens of people picking huckleberries so you just had to navigate around those groups. The hike took approximately 3 hours to reach the Alpine Slide area. You could ride the slide down or jump on the ski lift to go down. Whichever you purchased tickets to do. There are is also a separate trail for mountain bikers but we didn't cross those trails until closer to the Alpine slide area. We purchased tickets for the Alpine Slide so we jumped in line which went quickly. There are two slides to choose from. One slide is "fast" and the other is slower and more scenic. We chose the scenic as it was our first time on the slide. You can also choose the speed as you navigate down the slide. The slide drops you right off at the bottom of the resort so you can walk directly to the parking lot. I would definitely recommend the hiking and Alpine slide. It was very scenic and a wonderful experience.

I went inside to buy some pictures that this ski resort took of my wife and I and 10min later I came outside and my skis were stolen! Be careful! The ski resort said they could pull the security footage and after they made me wait 40min they said they actually didn't have cameras pointing to the ski racks so there was nothing they could do! Ridiculous. My rental skis were stolen and they did nothing to try and find who did it. They should 100% have security cameras pointing to the ski racks!

While here there was a wind storm that knocked power out from 10pm to 4pm the next day. Staff was amazing! They guided us on what store we're open and had generators. Since all thr towns from coeurd'alene to Wallace were blacked out. As soon as power returned they opened the waterpark out of hours for us to enjoy. Thry also gave us refunds on the waterpark and snow tubing add ons. Everyone went out of their way to help guest and make right a situation that was not in their control. We will be returning to try snow tubing. 10/10

Needless to say I was very disappointed with the food experience and paying what I paid makes it criminal!!! Did I set the bar too high??? I definitely recommend the gondola ride but you may be better off bringing your own food!!! What's crazy is that we were early and you think the food would have been fresh, hot, as well as tasty!! I wish I would have taken a picture of my prime rib entree so you could see that it more look like road kill!

After having an opportunity to encounter Brian and Matt, the head honchos, I was able to grasp the future vision for the resort, and I am thrilled! Not only are they upholding historic tradition of the mountain, but plans for upgrading and expanding just confirm the attitude of slow and methodical progress. And all the ugly things I stated last season, have virtually disappeared. Way to go boys! To track from November 8th all the way to last weekend was epic! Unlike first chair Cheryl, who is unrivaled, it was the longest season I have experienced at one resort. And just enough powder and chill to keep us going all that time! The thing is, there was still several days left for them to cancel and refill the slot on the snowmobile trip during a holiday week. I wasn't asking for a refund, I was asking for a credit to be utilized within one year. Be warned that they stick with some inane 45 day cancellation policy in an area that is prone to bad weather. If you live out of state, they are not worth booking an excursion with. I absolutely do not recommend this company.

If you're in Northwestern Montana you must come here and then take a trip to nearby Glacier National Park. Right next to where you park at the trailhead to Kootenai Falls, there a little shop that sells treats and wares called "Main Street Perk 2.0 at Kootenai Falls". We got some bottled water and Huckleberry ice cream. Don't miss out on the ice cream!

Some places grab your soul from the moment you pull off the highway -- Kootenai Falls is exactly…read moreone of them. I rolled through here expecting a nice view, and got full-on nature theatre. The hike isn't brutal -- about half-a-mile from the road to the bridge or viewpoint, with picnic tables and restrooms at the lot. Enough challenge to feel good, not so much that it kills your afternoon. The trail that leads upstream to the main falls is short but dramatic: water rushing over rock terraces, multiple drops, including a 30-foot fall seen from the overlook. Downstream you cross that swinging bridge -- it creaks, it sways above the green Kootenai water, and it gives you a rush just standing there. Accessible but wild feeling: old railroad overpass, rocky descent sections, metal stairs, forest canopy, birds, moss -- all the good stuff. I went there in early summer; the river was high, mist in air, sun breaking through trees. The light hits the falls just right at golden hour -- reflections everywhere, water sparkle, shadows dancing. Ambience is pure Montana: no loud crowds, mostly locals, forest smells, river roar, the rustle of pine needles. Parking isn't fancy, but it's clean; restrooms are basic. Picnic area shaded, with enough space to sit, eat, soak it all in. Final take: 5 stars, no doubt. Probably one of those places I'll revisit again and again just to feel that rushing water, that bridge sway, that "whoa" moment when you turn the corner and see the falls looming. If you're in this part of Montana -- don't pass it by.
