On the top of skii lift near start of most trails

Had a Blast!! I am a newcomer to skiing and my 2nd cousin is really good at skiing! My second cousin teaches classes at Schweitzer and was going to help me learn alongside my sisters boyfriend who is also a newcomer. He taught me some basic skills then took us on the bunny hill. We then took a couple runs on the bunny hill and before I knew it I was going down Tamarack the green trail they have there! We had lots of fun and the lodge service people were very nice. We also made lots of memories! Overall I would definitely recommend lookout pass for anyone looking for a fun time!

Location to get tickets, bike rentals, shuttle ride and merchandise for Route of Hiawatha.

I am so happy that we stopped at Lookout Pass to buy our tickets for the Route to Hiawatha. The ticket agent gave us such good tips. Also, it's the last stop for indoor plumbed bathrooms. Definitely worth it! We had originally planned to drive to Pearson trailhead and bike up the route. The agent stated that would add 50min drive time each way. Instead she recommended parking at the East Portal trailhead and bike to the last trestle then turn around and bike back up the most scenic section. She said that you can purchase the shuttle tickets with credit or cash on the bus if we changed our minds. Great advice! Skip the forest service roads and buy your tickets from Lookout Pass Ski Resort at Exit 0. It will actually save you time.

Nice little mom and pop ski area. Some good terrain and nice grooming. Employee service was great and the place had good vibes.

I was excited to take my 11 year old son to the water park and stay the night. We did a last minute…read morebooking so the only room available that worked for us was the King Suite. It's a king bed, queen sofa sleeper, balcony and small kitchenette. The room itself was clean, lodgey/mountain feel without being run down. Views of the mountain were nice. At first it seemed great. We quickly put on our swimsuits and headed for the water park. When we came back is when our stay became very lackluster. The power along one wall didn't work at all. So none of the lamps, phone, outlets worked. I thought maybe a switch needed to be flipped on but we tried every switch and none of them turned it on. Oh well, the other lights worked so we moved on. Then I was getting my son settled in his sofa sleeper. There weren't any blankets on it or in the cabinets. So I had to call and ask for them, they brought them up quickly which was appreciated. Then when I was getting into my king bed I realized all the pillows are TINY! Not even queen sized pillows. I've never seen that at a hotel before where they have twin sized baby pillows on a king bed. They were lumpy, cotton pillows. Very uncomfortable. The bedding and blankets were very thin. So I had to have the heat up more than I'd like just to stay warm. All of these things wouldn't have been a huge inconvenience, it's only one night. But it was $385 for this room. I stayed at a hotel in Paris that was 5 stars, incredible beds with feather pillows, claw foot bathtub, heated toilet seats and bidet with a rainfall shower for less. It's off season so it doesn't make sense why it's so expensive. And I was hoping the beds would be more comfortable. Then the REAL problem is the hotel walls are NOT insulated well. I had one neighbor that I literally can hear every word they're saying like they're in my hotel room. I thought they were in the hallway so when I opened my door to politely ask them to quiet down (it was midnight and we were tired and couldn't sleep) I realized, no, they're next door and the walls are too thin. I could hear their entire conversation without trying and I wish I couldn't. I just wanted to sleep. Then the neighbors on the other side of the wall had a baby that cried all night and they woke up at 5:30 am. I could also hear their entire conversation and their baby crying like it was in my bed. Worst night of sleep ever! Definitely not worth the price. I have a terrible neck and back ache from the bed and pillows and barely slept due to the noise. We are in Building C on the 3rd floor for reference.

This inevitably leads to chaos when everyone is trying to get ready for skiing. Adjoining rooms would be better, but they don't have a full kitchen or the nice sitting area. Other than that the place is very nice. It was clean and quiet (we were in building D). All of the staff is very nice, My grandkids had a great time in the waterpark. The waterpark was very crowded, but the kids did not mind, and I found a relatively quiet corner.

This was the best game in town to acquire those items. THE SETUP You don't see Sporting Goods stores like this in the Bay Area. Hell, not even in California. I felt like I walked into an outdoorsman's wet dream when I entered through the doors of this venerable establishment. OUR ITEMS It was a quick thing to find the rafts and the scuba gear we needed at this store. In doing some pricing at the sporting stores in Sacramento and Seattle, it appeared these purchases were a far better deal here in Idaho, by almost 30%-50%. [ Which makes the follow-up point obvious: if I ever need equipment in Idaho, DON'T BOTHER to buy it in California and take it up there - just wait and get it local - far better diversity and far far better pricing. GUNS Rifles with sniper scoping, pistols like refurbished Glocks, crossbows, dart guns, sling shots, refurbished (sub-machine?) repeating guns even. There is just about every personal weapon one could obtain to take into wilderness survival if they need it. TAXIDMERMY On every wall there were the heads of just about every wild game that rifles, crossbows, darts and slingshots could make their target in the local Northern Woods of the Panhandle of Idaho. Elk, Moose, Bobcats, Mountain Lions, Weasels, Ducks, Marlins, Sailfish, Salmon, etc. etc. Just about every creature of the Air, Sea and Land had it's representative stuffed and mounted here. OTHER EQUIPMENT * Great inventory on Sunscreens (which we got), * Hunting gear & ammo (which we didn't need), * Camo-wear on both jackets and pants (which could come in handy sometime). * Lots of Fishing Rods and tackle * Lots of camping equipment with specific emphasis for interior wilderness purpose or river-purpose THE LOWDOWN A Great Sporting Store - if not the best - in the Panhandle of Idaho.
