Had used Turner Moving twice in the past and was VERY satisfied with the process. This time was WAY different and exceedingly disappointing. The estimator MISSED the necessary space to load our personal goods by approximately 50% (almost 6000 cubic feet according to the movers working day of) causing us to have to donate quite a bit of items (beds, wine refrigerator, bicycles, chairs etc). The movers were amazing though and stayed out, in the rain, attempting to get as much loaded as possible. ADVICE: do not get ANY estimate without one of the loaders involved in seeing the personal goods (it created an approximately additional 35% expense). The actual movers knew withing 10 minutes of walking the property that they were NOT going to be able to load everything. UPDATE (FROM COMPANY RESPONSE) FOR FULL CLARITY: The "overall" comment is inherently incorrect (and disappointing) as it fails to recognize the significant additional expense of having to make other arrangements from the missed estimate as well as the fact there was a completely empty Turner moving truck onsite and Turner did not offer to take the furniture which was not able to be loaded temporarily until other arrangements could be made the next day due to their error. read more

At every point in the process we were met with friendly and knowledgeable staff who explained the process and and answered our questions. i cant say enough about the moving crew, they were so courteous and hardworking. Family move from Brown's Valley to East Napa. We contracted Turner to move our furniture and other bulky items. ** Bottom line: Excellent move -- professional, courteous, and pleasant. We'd use them again and recommend Turner to anyone planning a move. We received several quotes. Turner's wasn't the cheapest, but we were willing to pay more expecting a more professional service. We were not disappointed. On moving day, we had a 5-man crew: Brandon, Juan, Cody, Adrian, and Carlos. The fact that i remember their names three days later tells you how impressed I was. They were very considerate of our belongings, were pleasant to be around, very courteous and helpful to us and each other. Everything arrived safely and they patiently reassembled the beds and desks. They were efficient but not hasty. i was glad to see them take periodic breaks: fatigue causes accidents. I might add we did our part to "help them help us" by marking all the furniture and the new house with post-its so they knew exactly where to place everything. I had to move my mother out of her apartment at the Meadows due to her decling health, I was so stressed by her problems I was not looking forward to herding a bunch of moving men. Wow, was I surprised. My first call was answered by Shalyn, who became my contact person. She was so friendly and professional, she made the appointment for the estimate and I immediately had an email message confirming the day and time. The estimator, Leslie was on time and equally as professional. So far everone was so nice and my stress levels were dropping even though I was driving two hours a day to see mom in the skilled nursing facility and dealing with care issues. But now comes the actual packing and moving. Last time we moved fro the house in Yountville we used Holmes, because everyone else was booked. Those moving men were smoking dope in the truck and we didn't finish moving into the Meadows apartment until 11:30 at night! What a difference the Turner men were. I can't say enough positive words of appreciation for how smooth they made the whole process. Cody, Juan, Brandon and Eric were bright, well spoken and hard working. They made special efforts to give me access to mom's dressers in the storage unit, managing to get all the boxes, etc. into one unit and still keep everything dry as it was pouring rain. Many items broken, boxes smashed. Shared the truck with another family and cost wasn't reduced. Couldn't even get a straight answer when we inquired about it. We do believe that for 12,000.00 plus dollars we should have gotten much better than that. Scott..was good. We believe it was the guys that packed the truck. You could see boxes were smashed and some even split open. Yes, we signed saying everything was here and okay but really hard to determine until you start unpacking. Movers.... especially out of state..BEWARE!!! FYI, we packed everything ourselves and spent alot of money on newsprint, bubble wrap and air pillows plus our own linens. It was very well packed. I hired Turner Moving & Storage for a local Napa move after another moving company canceled on me the morning of my move. I had made my appointment with the other company a month and a half before the move and thought there was no way I'd be able to find another moving company the same day. I had no idea what to do but found Turner Moving & Storage listed in the local movers online. I called the number and Shalyn Turner answered and worked through the details with me and said she would see what she could do. I contacted Turner Moving and Storage for an estimate because I liked the fact that they have these vaults for storing things which are actually less per month than a 10x15 storage unit. I only had two bedrooms of furniture, a couch, and 2 mattress and box springs and they wanted over $2,000 to move this which included the price of storage for the first month for 2 vaults. They said if I didn't want to move my furniture to their facility and store it, it would cost about $1400......hmmmm, really? I just couldn't see how it could cost that much! My realtor recommended a guy she has used in the past which her clients were VERY happy with that moved me today for under $300 out the door. That's so much more reasonable. read more
