A few years ago we used Careful movers, but they were not available on the date we needed. We saw the positive reviews for Sunny and wanted to give them a chance! Overall our experience was good, but I don't think I would use them again. A little background: It was a super hot day, and I felt bad for the movers. They didn't seem to have water or proper PPE for the weather. The positive: Movers were on time and ready to work! Items were moved carefully, but they probably could have used a third worker based on the items we had. I feel I was transparent with how much items we had including heavy items. The negative: Two movers were not enough based on the items we had including heavy items. The move took much longer than expected. Movers seemed really irritated the whole time, which I can't tell if it was from the heat or we did something wrong. Movers also left garbage behind and we had to clean up after. Usually the moving company will follow up after to see how things went, but we never heard from Nancy. Nancy also said she would come to check in during the move, but never did. We paid, and it was done. I think overall, it was a fine experience, but not to the level of other moving companies I've worked with before. I hired Nancy's company to send movers to help me pack and load items into a storage unit. Before the appointment, I spoke with Nancy directly by phone and explained that I needed them to bring boxes and help box up items -- not just move boxes that were already packed. My family had recently experienced a death, and we urgently needed to clear one room before visitors arrived for the funeral. The house was not just messy; it honestly looked like a tornado had hit it. We had been searching for important paperwork and moving furniture around for weeks, so items were everywhere. That was exactly why I hired movers and packers. I needed people who could come in, make boxes, help put items into boxes, and load everything into storage quickly. Nancy also brought her young son with her, who appeared to be elementary-school age. I did not object at first because I understand that childcare can be difficult. However, in the context of everything else that happened the poor preparation, poor communication, and unprofessional handling of the job it added to the feeling that the appointment was not being treated professionally. The movers she brought did not speak English well enough to understand basic instructions. Only one of the three seemed to be trying to help. One man stood around much of the time, complaining to another worker in a language I could not understand, while very little work was being done. They were in my home for approximately 45 minutes, and during that time only one person was really boxing anything. I had to ask several times for them to make boxes so we could begin filling them. When my helper started unloading a dresser, they repeatedly told me I did not have to unload it. I explained that I needed to go through the items before they went into storage, but they did not seem to understand. At one point, while we were trying to unload one dresser, the one worker who was helping started unloading a different piece of furniture instead. The lack of communication made the situation chaotic and inefficient. Nancy repeatedly asked me what I wanted them to do, even though I had already explained multiple times that I needed them to make boxes, help fill the boxes, and load them. She also kept suggesting that they come back the next day after I packed everything myself. I explained that I did not have time because the funeral was only days away and that I was willing to pay them to do the packing and loading that same day. Instead of helping solve the problem, the workers continued talking among themselves in different parts of my house while my helper and I rushed to get things packed. It became clear that they were either unprepared, unwilling, or unable to do the job I had hired them for. At one point, while I was speaking with Nancy, I heard metal slamming against my indoor stairs. The worker who had been complaining the most was dragging and slamming a dolly upstairs. He appeared angry and seemed to be taking it out on my stairs. I had to tell Nancy to ask him to stop because my floors are new. It was extremely unprofessional. Eventually, after I became visibly upset, Nancy said they were going to leave and that she would not charge me. They left items outside in front of my garage. When I looked at the little work that had been done, it was very poor. Some boxes were taped badly, and some hampers were simply wrapped in plastic with items still inside. The only items they appeared to have boxed or moved were what was left outside, and even much of that had been packed by my helper and me. The next day, I hired another moving company, and the difference was unbelievable. They were professional, brought the necessary supplies, followed instructions, helped box items, went room by room, and worked quickly. They were not judgmental at all about the condition of the house. They did not waste time standing around, talking to each other, or complaining. They were understanding, respectful, and willing to do the work I had hired them to do. They completed the job in about five hours, including time for lunch. That experience made it very clear that the job was not impossible. The problem was that Nancy's company was not prepared or willing to do the packing and loading work I specifically requested. Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience during an already difficult time for my family. If the company only wanted to move items that were already boxed, that should have been made clear before they accepted the appointment. I specifically hired them because I needed help packing and loading. Instead, the appointment wasted valuable time and left me with more stress and unfinished work. read more

OMG! Best Movers ever! I recently moved out of a house I lived in for over 20 years. I downsized and packed a lot, but left more fragile things for the movers to pack, along with big items. Less than 24 hours before the movers from Sunny Moving Co. were scheduled to come at 8 AM, the new place - a senior living community- let me know that they only allow moving in from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM, and 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. I called Nancy at the moving co, who worked a miracle to re-schedule things. A three-person team + Nancy arrived at 10 AM, packed up the house, and we only had to wait about 45 minutes to move me in during the "approved" afternoon hours. Everything was expertly packed, and I haven't found anything broken! I have moved several times. What usually takes about 3-4 hours took the 3 guys just 2 hours to complete, including a 50 minute drive between spots. The previous customers hadn't done their packing ahead of time and lived on the 4th floor. When we called to check on the ETA at around 3:30 PM, we discovered our movers were frantically trying to wrap up the previous job and wouldn't arrive until 6:30 PM (two and a half hours late ) Fortunately, thanks to the longer summer daylight, we were able to get most of the truck packed before sunset. We did end up quickly unloading the truck at our new home after dark, which was rather difficult. However, Sunny Movers and Nancy were extremely helpful throughout the process. Their communication was prompt, and we were able to complete the move on the same day. The only reason we deducted one star was due to being so late. The movers were very patient, took their time, and helped us to the best of their ability. Overall, we were very happy with their help and would recommend their service.
