They had two guys assist me with moving from a 1 story house in Petaluma to bottom floor apartment in Santa Rosa. Pricing was ok but one of the workers broke an $80 item and he failed to mention it to the lead guy. I felt bad for the kid so I didnt complain but I felt a little jaded after paying $500 because I had to pay for their truck to be refueled from Petaluma to Santa Rosa and back. The only reason the price was lower is because I helped and had most of my items boxed, stored and ready to go which cut down the time moving stuff. read more

Moved us today from Sonoma, Ca to Dixon, Ca. 3 man crew Steven, Tim and Brandon. Tim: a motivating , strong leader who got it done!! Brandon: strong Tetris-like talent organizing our belongings in the moving truck and getting our boxes out of our pod with lighting-fast speed. Steven: strong as an ox!!! This man carried heavy boxes up a flight of stairs so quick!!! Was so very sweet and reassuring! These 3 gentlemen moved us out of our 1500 sq 2 story house and into our new home in 8 hrs with a drive both ways , as well. We definitely could NOT have done this alone. The final amount was a bit more than the quote but so was the work day. I would definitely pay that amount again and hire them..no questions asked. We had a very difficult job cleaning out my Aunt's house. A two car garage stuffed up to the rafters. Rich came out to give us a bid and was at the job the next day. Price was fair and the people were fun to work with. They worked the whole day without a break. Things of value were to go consignment shop for sale, lesser things to a thrift store. However, consignment items never made it to the consignment shop and no receipts were given for them. Unfortunately the company is not responding. Very sad. read more

We provided them photos of possessions and they were able to very accurately estimate the time and cost for pulling off this big move. We had Need A Hand Movers help us yesterday. It was a tough day, and moving from a family home of 48 years has its complications and hidden tasks. We pretty much got it done, at least the hard stuff. My wife underestimated the load, so not on them. They used a trailer instead of a box truck, which really helped access. The old and new homes are on twisty mountain roads. The crew we had was great, I enjoyed very much talking with them: Binnion, Tim, and Victor. I wish we had scheduled a second day with them, but oh well. I got a call the day before the move to confirm. My move was today, and the three-man crew of Victor, Tim, and Cody were fantastic. I hired them to pack everything, move within Sonoma County, and dispose of a few (big) items. They worked efficiently and respectfully, asking me the few times they needed guidance but otherwise just quickly taking care of all the packing. I requested that I didn't want everything moved out of a house that I had sold. I wanted to specify which things to take to storage. I had agreed to hire them for one day, and to only work when I was there to point out which things to take. They didn't do what I had asked. They came back the next day when I wasn't able to be there and took whatever they wanted which were the easiest things there and left behind the most valuable items which I wanted to keep. I had a deadline to be out of the house in 2 days so I hired someone else to help me with getting the heavier and most valuable items out of there. They worked harder and charged way less than the original movers. The Need A Hand Movers insisted that I pay them in cash in advance even though I wasn't happy with the work they did or didn't do. I have photos of how they left my house after they had supposedly finished the job. I still haven't even seen what they packed and took to storage that I have to pay for. They didn't label any of the boxes that they packed so I don't know what's in them. I was very upset and disappointed when I went back to my sold house and saw all my best things still there after they were finished! If anyone wants to see my photos of everything left in the house, just ask me. It was a huge mess they left for me. read more

There is an app called grammarly that you can run a letter or Yelp review through, so it sounds like the writing is from a business owner. It will help greatly with run on sentences. Add a pandemic and difficult load in (My old place was in the back of another house, down a narrow, uneven path) and I was super stressed about the whole thing. We hired them twice during the summer and the first time the crew was AMAZING! 5 Stars Easily! I think one of the crew members was Biniyam. I cant say enough good things about this crew, I wish I knew all their names. The second time we used them the crew was not the same and outright bad. One of the guys (pony tail) did just about nothing and his crew members were complaining about him the whole time. He brought the entire crew down by dragging his feet and doing none of the heavy lifting. The same guy took a 30 minute bathroom break, with the truck so the entire crew couldn't work, as everything was on the truck. They also went to the wrong storage unit and charged us the time to drive to the wrong unit and then back to the right unit. 1 Star. It's hit and miss, but if you get the right crew it's worth every penny. read more

Just over a year ago I hired Need a Hand Movers to move my items out of a storage unit and into a house. Got a good price and scheduling was great. Morning of the move the truck they planned to use had a problem, but Jason has multiple trucks so this only caused a 15 minute delay. Where things went above and beyond is the fact that once we opened the storage unit we found mouse/rat poop all over my stuff. I mean a lot of poop. Either they underestimated the size of the job, or did a poor job packing because they left many of our household goods behind. They didn't inventory the boxes and and just randomly left what was packed last without giving us any input. While moving us in, they couldn't assemble our weight equipment and just left it in pile. They weren't even going to tell us until I noticed it 45 minutes before they were due to leave. Then they said there was a problem with a cable. They had called a Fitness Equipment company and misled them and said the machine was assembled but there was a problem with the cable. The fitness equipment company asked for a photo so they could assess the situation and the crew sent a photo of the equipment that was taken before they took it apart at the home they moved us from. Completely and shockingly dishonest. The rep sent me the entire text conversation. If Need a Hand Movers get into a pinch - they will resort to lying and scamming to avoid liability. So disappointed!
