The experience you get staying in their B&B and hanging out in the brewpub will make your visit to this charming town absolutely unforgettable. They are hospitality experts and their kindness and support to their guests, community, and neighbors is outstanding. They deserve 20 out of 5 stars! You won't find kinder people, a more delicious breakfast, or a better stay anywhere. The B&B is beautiful, cozy, and inviting. You'll quickly feel at home and have a hard time leaving. (I threatened to never leave!) We cannot wait to come back. We, and the other guests, all commented on how incredibly comfortable the beds are. The blankets are SO warm, and on a chilly winter night, it's the perfect way to get cozy and warm. The decor of the room and bathroom was incredible! If we were staying the weekend, I would have treated myself to nice mineral bath in the gorgeous clawfoot tub. The original wood floors in the bathroom and throughout the house are exquisite. BREAKFAST. Oh. My. Heavenly. Goodness. To say Brenda is multi-talented is an understatement. One of her many talents is being a wizard in the kitchen. Her local bacon (seasoned two ways), homemade granola with yogurt and berries, stuffed French toast bake, and hand-crafted spread are THE way to start your morning. I feel spoiled after one day. And sitting around the table with guests and neighbors will make you feel like a local. Then there's the brewery!! Turning Waters Back Alley Brewery / Hoppy Girl Brewing.... We are so excited to have them in town! We've been to about 113 breweries around the state and country, and this one easily makes the top 10, if not higher. Ford's beers are exceptional! The Mango Milkshake IPA, Salted Caramel Russian Imperial Stout, Triple Black IPA, and Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Dark Beer were all 5 out of 5 stars. I'd drink those until they run out and never get sick of them. The hospitality they show out there is outstanding. The awesome snacks, delicious pizzas (don't miss this!), games, and variety of craft beers on tap will make you never want to leave. We can't wait to come back this summer and enjoys some brews outside! Best choice you could make in Wabasha? Come to Turning Waters and turn no where else. Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Brewery is located in Wabasha, Minnesota, which is the really neat town where "Grumpy Old Men" was filmed, situated on the Mississippi River. The B, B & B is an attractive home with a well-appointed interior that I found both comfortable and a treat for the eyes, a good place to relax and use as a base to enjoy the entire region. My suite with its own bathroom had everything I needed. I stayed 3 days and nights, and the bed was so comfortable I fell asleep 5 minutes after hitting the sheets. The place is immaculate and the breakfasts were always tasty and varied. My daughter, Ashley Bradford, and I spent 3 days here last June before touring Michigan's U.P., and I had been looking forward to this return trip. It did not disappoint. Brenda Pearson, the mistress of the home and hardest-working person I have ever met, is an excellent host and chef. I was impressed with the baked goods and everything Brenda prepared. What a charming, cozy, and spacious beauty of a craftsman gem thus place is! The drive was just gorgeous getting here, and the scenery around the area is just what we were looking for. Brenda and Ford are the warmest, most welcoming, prettiest hosts one could hope to stay with. My girlfriend had booked this place for a wedding we were attending and boy was I blown away at how amazingly awesome Brenda and Ford and Turning Waters B&B & Adventures is. As soon as you walk in the door, it's almost as if you are in a home away from home - has that cozy feeling with the old school decor, wooden floors, and comfy couches awaiting to be sunken in to. You can't go wrong with staying in any of the rooms that Brenda and Ford provide, all of them are spacious, very clean, and of course comfortable. The breakfast spread that they provided was amazing as well. From the local fresh fruit and Greek yogurt to the thick cut bacon and mango cream cheese french toast. Wow. Just wow. A lot of TLC going on in this place and it makes you not want to leave at the 11am checkout. We even created a drink together before the wedding festivities and they named it after me!! I mean come on, if that's not the coolest than I have no idea what is. We came up with THE DUSTY EAGLE BLACK COFFEE COCKTAIL. If you need a little pep in your step with a little buzz on the side, this drink is for you! Just stayed here this Saturday night to Sunday. We will stay here again! Brenda and Ford are amazing hosts! We had great beer, a delicious breakfast bake, homemade muffins, fresh watermelon, savory sausage and fresh orange juice. Oh, and yogurt, granola and fresh berries too! Brenda gave us three hugs before we left! We also met a couple that we may be friends with for a long time (fingers crossed) :) we will be back here. The room was super comfy! Best bed we've stayed in (away from home), the coolest robes for after the shower (which was in the middle of the tub, open to the room! Lots of fun little things you wouldn't expect, like q-tips, ear plugs, dental floss, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of pillows, lotion, toothpaste, and so much more I may have forgotten something?! Anyway, if you want to make memories...definitely come here!!! We just stayed again this past weekend 07/2018. Again it was fabulous and Brenda was just as great as first time! The stay at this bed and breakfast was delightful to say the least. Beautiful room with jacuzzi. We had beer, wine and pizza. Breakfast was at 9. Brenda cooked and had the table set and ready at 9 am. Fresh coffee. Homemade scones. Fresh bacon and sausage, hash brown and egg with feta cheese casserole, juice and yogurt of the gods with fresh honey and lastly fresh berries. This was our first stay but our 4th visit. Turning Waters is like going home to the best mom in the world at the coolest house. Brenda is made for this "business" which she turns into more of an ongoing party than a formal accommodation! She makes the most amazing breakfast from the best farms & "happy pigs" that makes your palate & heart happy when you enjoy it. You will LOVE waking up to steaming hot breakfast & amazing Greek Yogurt Parfaits. No "on your own" eating here! We had the munchies at 9 at night & she asked what we were hungry for & broke out her own stash of chips & a whole fridge of snacks & treats. And if she offers you one of her craft beers take it! And don't expect a surprise tab- All the beer & wine is on the house! A legacy that has been passed on from the owners of this amazing B&B. When my husband was in the mood for coffee she broke out 4 bags of high quality coffee & asked if she could brew him whatever he'd like! (And its better than all the coffee shops in town! Believe me- he tried them all ;) But the one across the street from them- YES- they have an ice cream coffee shop right across the street from them that has AMAZING soft & chewy giant cookies for a great price along with unique sandwiches & sides. Great place to grab snacks- but get there before 4pm! After that you can rely on Brenda for any hankerings in the night ;). We stayed 2 glorious days here & nights here! Oh my goodness the beds! No bending head & footboard when you flop onto these sturdy beds. I think all the rooms come with a king bed that are the same ones they have in the Trump Tower Hotel!! The sheets were AMAZING. My husband & I both slept better than we have in years on our own bed. Seriously! My back pain came back once I got home. And the hot tub & rain shower & Aveda shampoo & window-seat fainting couch & the robes. The ROBES! They are so soft & plush & cozy! And they fit my 6ft4 husband!! We seriously could live at this place. Brenda- If you ever want some co-owners to help with your ice cream shoppe or soon-to-come brewery you give us a call!! That's right. This place is only going to get better with the Ice Cream Parlor, Distillery & Brewery they're preparing. It's going to be booked for years in advance. Get a room while you can! We were in town for a wedding and had searched for any b&b a few months before the trip. My fiancé and I are not new t the b&b experience but this place sets the bar for what the experience should be like. It like a trendy boutique hotel that offers unique breakfasts every morning. From my experience something like this should cost over $300 a night, it was less than half that! We were greeted and hosted by Richie and Michael during our stay. There is very little if anything I would change about this place. We will be back if we are ever in Wabasha again! read more

Turning Waters was a wonderful breath of fresh air! In spite of lousy weather, we felt quite welcomed and were always treated with grace and friendliness. We even got some fresh pears and cucumbers from the garden as parting "gifts". Returning on our first night from a dinner out, which they wisely advised us to "hustle" to as we would have to wait,.....the hostess gave us an open yummy bottle of wine. The breakfasts were outstanding, my wife immediately tried the baked oatmeal/cream cheese fresh fruit recipe when we got home. The room/bed/ hot tub were excellent. The whole house is nicely decorated, classy and not over the top. Our stay was well worth the money, and a wonderful escape. This was especially true as we'd just come from a stay at the Scanlan House in Lanesboro, where the welcome was as cold and "mailed in" as we've ever seen at a B&B. Thanks Turning Waters! This was our 2nd time staying at Turning Waters and we love everything about it. When we arrived we were upgraded to a nicer room at no extra charge since there was a cancellation. That was sweet! Brenda always asks prior to our visit if we have any dietary restrictions. My husband has to eat a gluten free diet due to celiac disease and Brenda goes above and beyond our expectations when preparing and serving his breakfast. Her breakfasts are amazing and its fun for all us to talk at the breakfast table about what everyone did the day prior. We compare notes and ask Brenda about things she would recommend doing in the area too. One of our other favorite things about Turning Waters is the craft brew right in their backyard. Ford makes some awesome tasting brews and we were lucky to be there on a night where they had music. Highly recommend this place and love how Brenda is so creative with her gluten free menu! read more

Absolutely incredible experience. When we arrived we were greeted by a barefoot man (Richie) drinking a beer. I knew instantly that I was at the right place. His demeanor is warm and welcoming. If you want to chat, he's all about it and has great stories. If you want to just hang and relax he's great about not coming into your space too much. The decor is tastefully done and decidedly NOT Victorian. More of a worldly restoration hardware feel. They did an amazing job decorating. I also must say that it's the best breakfast I've ever had (and I'm a foodie who has had many great breakfasts). Richie's cooking is over the top awesome. I knew it would be good but I didn't know it would be that good. There are MANY things to explore within a 30 minute drive that make this a great destination. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone I've ever met, as I know they would have just as good of time as we did. We'll be going back next summer for some kayaking. read more

Just returned home from a wonderful weekend in Wabasha. We had gone down to attend the "Taste of Wabasha" benefit event for the eagle center and found Turning Waters B&B. The hosts were wonderful and warm, the food was fantastic, and the house was beautiful. It is so close to downtown that we were able to walk to the local tavern, the Kimono shop, the coffee shop across the street, and all the way to the National Eagle Center! read more

A truly special inn with creative touches everywhere. Great atmosphere; off the main drag so it's quiet; wonderful hosts and excellent food with hen's eggs from the backyard flock. A great get-away place for down-time or to just enjoy the wonderful Mississippi river scenery year-round. Plenty of decent dining options in the vicinity, wineries, a cidery, a brewery and many other recreational options in the area. This B & B was booked to accommodate the wedding party for a wedding in WI. The owners were friendly and the place was beautiful. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Lake Pepin or Mississippi area near Wabasha, MN I highly recommend this place. These owners really went out of their way for us including driving into WI with their bus to pick the wedding party at 12:30 AM along with bringing an extra vehicle to make sure everyone got back safely. Not many places would do that and Brenda and her husband Ford did this for us with only a few days notice. Great place and great owners! read more

I haven't read all the other reviews but Turning Waters deserves the five-star and more! Warm and welcoming, Brenda was a delightful, conversant (yet giving us space), easy-going, hospitable--in short, everything we hope for in a B&B proprietor. (Hope we can meet Ford next time.) The breakfast part of B&B is often the most vivid memory of one's stay and this morning's breakfast was unforgettable. Nothing really fancy, which is great, but very delicious and delightfully presented... juice, great coffee; yogurt parfait with fruit and granola and extra fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) on the side; Brenda's version of a scone with a touch of rosemary (really good!!); small sausages... The Entreés were the BEST... I'd call them unpretentious souffles baked in individual size (but big) french onion soup crocks... one sweet and one savory... I had the savory with broccoli, mushrooms, onions?, hash browns... topped with a perfectly crusted shredded hard cheese. Breakfast, served at 9:00, was substantial enough to allow us to skip lunch. The bedroom was perfect--comfortable king bed, whirlpool tub, shower, toilet/sink, fireplace, and more... with a cool pitcher of water and glasses... and just enough space... Oh (almost forgot) the common areas are spacious and welcoming... we were just the two of us but this would be a great spot for a group of friends to gather.... Suggest renting all the rooms for a 2-3 day stay... Life is short, take time to get away for good food, good conversation, good friends. read more

My husband and I spent three glorious nights in The River Room Suite. The suite was spacious, peaceful & relaxing. This stunningly beautiful inn was immaculate, warm and welcoming. Plenty of easily accessible parking. Brenda and Ford were friendly, fascinating and extremely helpful. They had a way of making us feel at home as if we were family. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious! The best breakfasts we have ever enjoyed at a B & B! Special attention was made to every detail. Fresh and wholesome ingredients, clean local meats and healthy balanced nutrition. We had three perfect nights sleep on a very comfortable bed with very soft linens. We have stayed in many B & B's over the years and this one definitely sets the bar on the perfect B & B adventure! Thank you for all your hard work, it shows and was greatly appreciated!
