They do have free range chickens and ducks running around as well. It's only $10 a person and it's worth it for a fun outing. If you do go please respect the rules of not chasing the chickens and ducks, you might very well give them a heart attack. And no one wants to see that. But I'd definitely recommend it especially if you've got kids. They've even got information plaques about all the animals around the place so it's fun and educational.

The CBP maintains an office here as well. The picnic pavilion is in good shape and there are a few benches about. Wow! I thought I had reviewed the Leo Boisvin Community Centre, but apparently not! It's time to…read morechange that... So, we in Prescott are really lucky to have this community centre for special events. It used to be a hockey rink, but it outlived its usefulness and would cost more to upgrade and would never be up to par to compare with modern hockey rinks. The town is thankfully building a new one in the west end of town south of the 401 (more on that when they finally open it). Meanwhile, rather than tear down this rink, they have converted it to a community centre, and they host special events there, like a Christmas craft show, roller skating events, and different shows. There was recently a small local business show hosted there, where companies showcased their wares (such as a coffee company, trailer company, real estate businesses, a tiny homes outfit, and so on). We are really lucky to have this venue! I'm so glad the town is putting it to good use. It is a good size for these events, without being a huge complex. We will definitely be back.

Saunders Farm is not a place that I would go of my own accord because It's too far outside of the city for me and I like neither farms nor horror experiences. However, I found myself going there with my husband, a friend and the friend's two kids. Overall, it was not as bad as I thought it would be, lol. We went during the day in September, so my review is of the farm-themed amusement park. General admission was $29 a person. I think they are only open September through December with it being most popular around Halloween. There were a few mazes, haunted houses that you walk through, and lots of play structures. There was also a zipline, which the kids did, but I did not. The zipline is not included in the general admission and was an additional $15 a person. They also had tractor rides, a Harvest one that was scenic and not meant to be scary and a Haunted one which had a few scares. They also had a big bouncy area like a bouncy castle but no walls or ceiling. They also had puppet shows, a theatre show and a monster parade. They have carnival games where you shoot cans, toss rings and things like that for prizes. There are no roller coasters or bumper cars. They have a few gift shops with very overpriced items. The candy store had no prices on the candy and our friend bought a few pop rocks, airheads and a lollipop for his kids and it was over $20. They have a few different places to eat as well. A few sit down restaurants and a few food court vendors where you take your food and eat at one of the picnic tables on the grounds. I had chicken tenders at "What the Cluck?" and it was $14 for 3 small chicken tenders and some fries. I was happy that the chicken tenders were real chicken breast meat and although they were small, they tasted good. The fries were nice and crispy too. The only thing I didn't like is staff dump the fries from the fryer into a large metal holding container and when customers ordered fries I saw staff grabbing the fries with their bare hands putting them into the paper containers and giving them to the customers. I'd think that would be hot and uncomfortable for staff, not to mention unhygienic for customers. The guy handling the chicken used tongs to place the chicken in the container, but fries guy bare handed it! WTF! Use some tongs or wear gloves, please. My husband got a Pogo with fries $10 at "Pogos + Poutine." This is where our friend and his kids got food as well. "Pogos + Poutine" and "What the Cluck?" have different menus but they share the same kitchen space. So their fries were handled by bare hands guy too. Overall, I think Saunders Farm is good for kids and families during the day. I can't speak to their Frightfest that happens at night. There's free parking on the grounds. I think if you bought them further in advance, there was a possibility to get 15% off. This was my first time visiting Saunder's farm and I was really impressed. Super scary and well-planned haunted houses! I think this would make a good night out for groups We came on a rainy and cold night and it was pretty busy. Lines for the haunted houses were between 10-45 minutes each. It was overall very organized and fun! Not for the very young (too scary) or if you have walking difficulties (it was muddy and slippery so definitely could potentially fall). Would definitely come again!

I played this course all the time in my teenage years before I moved out of home at 18. The course…read moreis right down the road from the house I grew up in so it was very convenient, but more importantly, very cheap. I returned here in July 2016 to play golf for the first time in about 5 years and it only cost me $15 for 9 holes and a push cart rental. That's not a typo. Fifteen dollars. So why only 3 stars? Well, it's only a 9 hole course and there is absolutely no irrigation whatsoever, so during hot summers with little rain, you can expect to be playing on what feels like dried clay and looks like the Sahara desert. Being that it's a state park, this may make New York residents wonder where their tax dollars go, but I get the feeling most of the people who play here are just happy they have a golf course. Within a 10-15 mile radius, this is your only option, unless you're playing at Deerfield. Another reason for the 3 stars is the major horsefly problem they have at holes 4 and 6. They were a problem when I was a kid and as of my latest visit, nothing has changed. A word of advice on parking: either park across the highway on Stone Church Road and walk 50 yards to the course or else plan on your car getting hit by people overshooting the green on 9.

This old arena has two rinks, and serves the Carleton Place community for hockey and entertainment…read more We recently saw small kids playing hockey there, and I was surprised to find that they split the rink in half to allow 4 teams to play at the same time, with their guardians and fans in the stands... this made for a lot of people in the rink at the same time, during this pandemic. We had been there a few times, several years ago to watch hockey (was it the juniors? I forget now!) It's free to get in, but there's a group of seniors who tend to sit together for these sporting events. We got "kicked out" of their seats! For the kids game we saw, there were benches provided, rather than seats, and it was cold in there. So if you happen to go to a game, bungle up!

TL;DR: Beautiful park in Perth. Great for a picnic or just a stroll…read more Stewart Park is a beautiful park. Lots of open green space. Plenty of park benches and picnic tables. Great place for a picnic. There are a few small bridges in the park which make it even more picturesque. There's even this tiny man-made waterfall which provides a nice relaxing sound. There's no play structure or special amenities, just green space to relax and enjoy. The Big Ben Memorial Statue is in Stewart Park. Big Ben was Equestrian Ian Millar's horse. They lived in Perth and apparently were famous in equestrian circles. I think the space around the statue is called Big Ben Park, but I think it's a part of Stewart Park. I don't really know, lol. There's also a tiny part of green space called Haggart Park, that also looks to be a part of Stewart Park (?) I dunno, I was just a tourist there, haha. Anyway, Big Ben Park and Haggart Park don't seem to be searchable online and aren't on Google Maps, so I'm including the pictures in this listing of Stewart Park ;) (127)
