If you're a beer drinker, they brew their own beer with a variety to choose from. The atmosphere is great. I got a half stromboli with very little meat. Usley strombolis from most places the meat is falling out. Not there it was mostly bread. Flavor was ok but it wasn't enough to make up for being so skimpy. They think just there name is enough. No I was hungry and very disappointed in what I received. read more

First of all. I have been coming years since I was a child. This specific location period. What can I tell you. They change the crust. It's some sort of cheap white cracker crust that has no flavor and it's like a saltine cracker. This is not the same crust the butter crust that had a little bit of body to it from the past. This is a completely different sheen recipe and it's likely no wonder people aren't sitting around waiting to get tables to this place anymore. The pizza is three times what it used to cost and the crust is total garbage. The pizza isn't filling so they keep in the crust to try to get you to order more pizza. I enjoy Turoni's pizza, it is my go to spot for pizza on Main St. in Evansville, IN. I go with the 'Turoni's House Special' or the 'Vincenzios Masterpiece A' Pizza...both are outstanding choices. I usually like to start with their 'Jalapeno Poppers'...let them cool before you bite into the poppers, or it will take a few days for the skin to grow back on the roof of your mouth...definitely have a cold beer standing by before you bite in. Nice older interior which is very pizza-like, if there is such a thing. I also enjoy their beers on tap, if I am eating in house. The Drive-Thru is also very convenient if you want to pick up your meal and take home or to your hotel. The staff is also very helpful. The only thing that would make it more enjoyable for me, would be if they had military veteran discounts...but they have nothing like that. read more

The atmosphere here is very odd and has a very weird energy, the food here is very not worth the wait. Speaking of the wait we sat here for a hour and twenty minutes waiting for our food to come out, the lady serving us seemed kind at first but just kept telling us that our order would be out soon. She then told us that our food got "lost" whatever that means. Over all not a place I would eat at again. 1/10 read more

It was great once we finally received our food, but the service was beyond disappointing. After waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes (and 4 drink refills), our meals finally arrived. While the waitress was not entirely at fault, she didn't handle the situation well. Instead of being honest, she repeatedly told us "soon." It was clear she hadn't been properly trained, and unfortunately, we never saw a manager check in at any point. I've been to both Turoni's in Evansville and both are equally worthy of praise as they serve incredible food and drink. The pizza here is something special and is if it's own unique style - I've never had anything quite like it before elsewhere. There isn't much for me to do in Evansville, but whenever I visit, a stop at Turoni's for pizza and a cold draft of beer is always a must. On this particular occasion I had the "House Special" which is made up of: "Homemade pizza sauce, italian sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, pepperoncinis & tomatoes". Visiting Evansville after 30 years away, Hubby wanted to go back to one of his favorite college hang out spots. We had the spicy chicken sausage Stromboli sandwich. I loved it - it had just the right amount of kick to the sausage that made my taste buds stand up and say, hey that's no regular Italian sausage. It has a home style pizzeria feel. I have been coming to this place since it was still the Forget-Me-Not-Inn in the 70's. This has always been a great bar and when they became part of Turoni's and their pizza and sandwiches it became even better. The place has both a bar area and a family room to eat. They do enforce the over 21 in the bar because a family came in with a newborn to meet some folks and they had to leave the bar area. My wife and I always split a spinach salad. One salad can easily feed two people. The homemade bacon dressing is very good and goes well with the spinach, eggs, and red onion. We split a small pizza that was plenty with the big salad. They have their own beer, craft beer and a full bar. This is a great casual dining experience. read more

I've always loved Turoni's. I live in Louisville, but my grandparents live here. Whenever we visit, we always go to Turoni's! The pizza is some of the best ultra thin crust I've had as it's cracker thin and is always perfectly browned! The toppings are always phenomenal, and the Supreme is absolutely excellent. Their appetizers are also great especially their garlic bread! The beers are just the icing on the cake! They have their own brewery and their stuff never disappoints! Turoni's is one of those community pizza places that has been around forever. They have been making pizza for over three decades, and once you walk in, it totally has that feel. Although built for families - nice big tables, heavy wooden chairs, and large family sized booths - it's dimly lit, and generations of local sports and community memorabilia adorn the walls. The food is good - pizza, sandwiches, and soups. On this visit, I had the chili. Thick and rich, with just a kick of the spicy hot stuff on the end. This was a great appetizer for my favorite - the loaded strom. I added tons of cheese, mushrooms, cheese, peperoncinis, cheese, onions, cheese, and cheeeeeeese. Now what makes this place special is it doubles as a brewery. While they have some nice house selections, I have an affinity for Rudolph's Revenge, a nice red Belgian strong ale; it achieves lots of complexity with its coriander, Belgian candi-sugar, and malted barley flavors. It comes in a smaller portion, due to its 10 ABV, but with a larger price tag. It is worth the extra cost - I usually end up leaving with a growler of the red stuff. The wait staff is nice and attentive, but you definitely want to beat the lunch and dinner crowds. Since it is family-oriented, I typically avoid dining there at dinner time or after a local sporting event, to avoid all the children; during those hours, this place is chocked full of the rascally little Devil's sprog, wall-to-wall. read more

Turoni's is a brewpub pizzeria offering a handful of homemade brews and speciality pizzas (See menu above). The beers being mostly of the IPA or red type. They do have a honey blonde which is a little too sweet in my humble opinion. For an appetizer, I tried their bruschetta. If you are expecting traditional Italian, skip it. It's more of a garlic bread creation with a melted blend of cheeses over red onions and tomatoes. Not very Italian at all. I also decided to try a small Vinny's Pepper Planet Pizza consisting of a variety of different pepper species, mushrooms, bacon bits, ham, and a blend of cheeses all spread over a Chicago thin style crust. Again, not very Italian, but it was quite tasty. In closing, I'll say this: Italian, it certainly isn't. Tasty it certainly is. The great and friendly service was very much welcomed. I was going to give them a three star but the server who just brought me my pizza was very rude. I ordered a spinach salad and asked for a container to take half home since the waitress said it was huge, like a meal in itself. Well I am attaching a picture of this meal in itself. It barely had a layer of spinach and it had not had the long stems pulled off. There was barely any egg . The egg was chopped really fine and may have been a tablespoon full. Could not find much bacon maybe 2 tsps. And well I am not sure if it even had mushroom slices. Needless to say it was NOT a meal in itself. When the person from the kitchen brought my pizza I started to tell her that I wanted to have the spinach salad taken off my bill because and she grabbed it and started off. Did not bother to listen to my explanation. It was not worth 10 dollars. I just asked my waitress who was awesome who the person was that brought my pizza. It was the manager Sharon. Wow hope the owner realizes his manager is rude to customers. Great way to lose customers. I live out of town but always get Turonis pizza each month I visit but won't be back at this one ever. BEST pizza and beer within a 50 mile radius!! And not only that, the atmosphere of this place is not only hoppin' but reminds you of one of the good ole pizza parlors with the dark wood and feel of the place. I love everything about this restaurant!! We've been here a couple of times but this last time we were really able to experience it. The service was excellent and we were seated almost immediately, much to our surprise, since the place was packed (and always is). Note: it's usually the larger parties waiting, so don't let the lines fool you...if it's just 2 or 3 of you, make sure you check before driving away. We ended up ordering cheesy breadsticks, which I abstained from but the 12 year old son gobbled down faster than I could return from a bathroom visit, as well as a 1/2 meatball and 1/2 house thin crust pizza. HOLY MOLY I was in pizza heaven!! Both were good but the meatball was exceptional and it was such a wonderful surprise to get anything but cardboard for pizza crust for once!!! PERFECTION!!! Our server was great with my bi-polar beer choices...ended up bringing me several samples before I chose. The beer is always good especially since they brew it themselves...I'm SO sick of the normal Busch/Bud Light options!! Microbrew heaven here. The topper for us was the magician that came around...yea, these guys can be over-the-top annoying sometimes, but he put a huge smile on my son's face and put us all in awe! Great addition. Every year at a minimum we make a trek from North Carolina to Kansas to visit my family. Most often over Christmas but also sometimes in the summer. We discovered this place (and its sister location) because my kids are picky as heck and 'pizza' is an easy win. Not wanting to do the usual chain place as most are delivery only these days we looked up pizza in the phone book and found this place. Since about 2006 we now make this part of the tradition of the drive to Kansas. I'm a big fan of pizza done right or done uniquely, and Turoni's has a unique style. They have an extremely thin crust. Some would say 'cracker' except it's not dried out like a cracker. It's crisp and thin, but the center retains a bit of chewiness that I like a lot. They have several specialty pizzas and we tend to go with the 'all meat' one for my wife and I while the kids do their traditional half cheese/half pepperoni. We've been to both locations now, usually we went to the other one but I got turned around and found this one first so we tried it. This one has more room/parking than the other location but the food was just as good. read more

Whenever I'm in Evansville, I always make it a point to hit Turoni's. It's a real gem of a joint in a city that is pretty devoid of good, locally-owned restaurants. The menu is limited to a vast array of pizzas and a few sandwiches, which is a good thing. They have obviously focused their efforts in creating a great pizza. As an added bonus, everything is very inexpensive. The building itself is also pretty cool. It's very dark and woody inside and there's a decent sized patio facing Weinbach that isn't too bad. read more

First time at this location in probably 30 years, and not even sure if it was turonis yet at that time . I have just ordered, and the first thing i got was water and the waitress went right up to the bar and grabbed a glass (plastic) and jammed it down into the ice bin. Isnt that like super unsanitary? Other than that, this place is super cute and clean as far as i can tell. The waitress is saying to another customer that the newburgh and main st locations have switched to a brick oven style oven and this location still uses a pizza pan. She is saying the locations have many different things and she doesnt know why they are different. I love the food at the main street location so in about 30 min i will rate this locations pizza. .... So, i like the crust here better than main st. But the top has less flavor. Hadn't been here in 20+ years (back when I was a student at UE), toured the university today with our oldest and dropped by an old favorite ....... and it's every bit as good as I had remembered. Cracker thin and crispy crust. Perfect sauce. The pictures on the walls and the seating hasn't changed, and that's just perfect. We were there for lunch, so no beer for us, but looked like a nice selection some of which are their own. An Evansville landmark that's not to be missed. read more

My parents and I are from the Evansville area and I'm currently a Milwaukee transplant. I came in town to celebrate my birthday and IMMEDIATELY requested we drive to Turoni's for lunch! It has been one of my favorite places for 20 years and things have never been better! We were one of the first people in the door, sat in the bar area, and our server took our order sooooo quickly! The wings and breadsticks were phenomenal and the pizza was hot and delicious. Server was the best I've had in YEARS at any concept. 10 of us went there tonight. Service was slow and after taking orders all we seen was runners. 1 Ordered salad and was only given a knife. I ordered a Stromboli and it was dry just some meat and a few dabs sauce. No cheese or peppers and onions. Wife ordered hot Ham an Cheese and McDonald's has more cheese on a cheap cheeseburger. Dry as well. I paid cash and didn't receive coins for change. I have an idea what good food is after working for Red Geranium, Chef at Greeley. And 20 years at Western RibEye and Ribs. We live in Francisco but get to Evansville often for Dr's. May try a pizza next time... All in all the Food was worse than service. Have a great day. read more
