Ok.. I spent 17 years in the pizza business so I consider myself a pizza "snob". Some friends wanted to meet up here and when I saw the outside I knew it would be good! At first glance this place had the feel of an old school pizzeria. Think late 70's and early 80's and you'd be spot on! The waitstaff was friendly, punctual and attentive. I order the flight of beer, which comes with one of each of their self-brewed beers, and the IPA was the best. The crust I would give a 2 (because I don't like thin) but the sauce and combination of toppings made me forget I was eating a cracker! If you've never been here give it a whirl. Oh, yeah... the walls are decorated with photos and news clippings of local and otherworldly famous people who have visited, so there is definitely a cult following! read more

My favorite place to get pizza when in Evansville. This time around we ordered the Iron Man pie which has spinach, garlic and mushrooms. It is amazing and I wish I could have it on a regular basis. Unfortunately I don't live here, so that isn't a possibility for me. They also have their home brewed beers - my favorite is the Thunderbolt Red. Servers are extremely friendly and attentive. And they have established a nice pub atmosphere which should make everyone comfortable while eating. But it's the pizza they are known for and you definitely won't be disappointed regardless of which Turroni's location you decide to visit. It's a must have on any trip to Evansville. read more

An Evansville institution, I hadn't had Turoni's since college! Far too long to go without this classic pizza in the River City. Pizza is thin crust style and you can select from premade combinations or create your own. I had both the pepperoni and sausage and I think the sausage was my favorite. Even though you're eating pizza, it feels lighter because of the thin crust so you aren't left with that greasy feeling you can sometimes get with other pizzas. Turonis is definitely a place to eat when passing through Evansville, Indiana! read more

Our first time there wasn't a good one at all. However bad days do happen. We decided to give it another try. We ordered the Angus burger and the Stromboli and started things off with there Grilled Cheese-es .....awesome by the way. We was greeted at the door, seated right away. The waiter was very attentive and our food came out in great time. Our food was oh soo good , we could not eat it all and brought the experience home with us. PLENTY of food and very reasonably priced. Two main dishes, a appetizer and two drinks. A whopping $35. I would recommend it. It's a very nice setting, great service and not too loud. This place is absolutely fantastic the Pizza is just amazing the service is fantastic the ambiance is amazing as well, we ordered the pizza two large pizzas with sausage and pepperoni and they came out hot bubbly and fresh the crust was thin and crispy and so delicious, the wait staff was fast and prompt every time we needed anything they were there to get it for us. Well, we had a pretty rotten experience a few days ago. This was my third or fourth visit, but it has been a while since our last one. We had a large group, so we called an hour ahead of time. They weren't quite ready, though when we finally arrived. We had the signature cheese toast for an appetizer and it was really good. In fact, that is what's saving this from being a 1-star review. We ordered four large pizzas and somehow it took fifty minutes! I really don't understand how that can happen, but a ball was dropped somewhere. We didn't get any silverware until after the pizza arrived (we had to ask for it) so we started eating on paper towels. After we asked for the silverware we didn't see anyone for a while. I had to go ask get a box and that's when our server remembered to get our bill. We had asked for the bill to be split, but that didn't happen either. The pizza was fine, but nothing special. We got one that was a pepper special that was pretty spicy and I was a fan of that! All in all, I can't imagine that I will be back. I'm sorry that it was such a bad experience, but it was multiple things, so I don't think it was just a situation with the pandemic. read more

I accidentally walked into the bar and forgot that most states still allow smoking in the bars. The other side is the family seating. I don't think we are allowed into the brewery but you can see it from the outside! The place is dimly lit with older benches and tables and decors. Service is good and so are the prices. I ordered Vinny's Lager which is basically a Pilsner. The Iron Man was great. Pizza sauce with garlic, spinach, mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts & mushrooms. mmmm mm. They have small, medium, and large sizes. There are also sandwiches and salads. A kiddy menu is also available. read more

Terrible customer service and attitude. We were told they were too overwhelmed and were turned away.

I have been here many times and keep coming back for the pizza. Excellent food. However, last night the service was severely lacking. Manager(s)! Train the wait staff! Our drinks came out slowly and seperately by about 5 minutes. We ordered two small pizzas but only received one. We had the one brought to the table by a different server while our waiter played on his phone. He didnt bother to bring plates or silverware even though he stood 4 feet from our table most of the time. We got them ourselves. When asked about the second pizza, he said he thought we were trying to decide so he put in one without confirming it. He didnt act like he was paying much attention - gotta get back to that phone i guess. He then said that there was another big order that just hit the kitchen so our second would be a long wait. So rather than attempt to make it right, he just left it there. Train your staff! Great food. Lousy customer experience. read more

My husband loves Turoni's & I thought it was ok. My Hawaiian Pizza was gluten free. It has a decent crust but the toppings and cheese kept falling off. My husband enjoyed his meat pizza though. read more

This hometown pizza and brewery has been around for quite some time in Evansville and is one of my favorite pizzas around. If for some reason you ever end up in southern Indiana you must make a stop at one of the two Turoni's in Evansville. Both are around the University of Evansville campus so somewhat have that campus feel, though the families love it to and has a great afterwork crowd on the Main St. one. Typical pizzeria decor with red and white checkered tablecloths and pitchers of soda brought to the table. There are pictures of various local college teams on the walls from over the years, but in all it is stark and random. This is the best pizza i have ever had, thin slice is the only way to go ! The hubs and I had been looking for a place to throw back a few good brews and chow on some decent, non-So. IN fare...Turoni's hit the spot! I adored the ambiance of this place. For those of you that have not been, there are what seem to be 2 separate entrances that are connected. One side seems more family friendly with larger tables and lots of kids to be seen; the other is the deep mahogany bar area with more eating space and not many kids to be seen. Nice set up! We sat at the bar only because the place was packed and we were a bit short on time but the service was great and we were able to watch some games on their several flat screens. Turoni's has a great beer selection along with a full bar and bartenders that actually know how to mix a drink. We didn't get much other than appetizers, so I cannot speak to the quality of their main course meals, but what we did get was delicious and there was no meat or potato to be seen! If I lived in EVV this would become a staple. Great place! read more

If you don't like this place, consider us mortal enemies... Onsite brewery churns out some tasty selection. My personal favorites are the Honey Blonde and the Thunderbolt Red. They also have a few stouts and an IPA called the Blue Eyed Moose. While I'm not a big fan of cracker crust pizza, theirs is A-OK. I've also had Stromboli and burgers and never been disappointed. If nothing else, stop in here for the atmosphere. The dining area and bar feature eclectic decorating and old-school wood work. Big TV's allow for sport watching. You really can't go wrong. read more

Pizza was great, garlic cheese bread was better. Our server was quick and attentive. The overall atmosphere was bleak, and the patrons were judgmental and borderline rude. But I guess you can't help the people you attract to your business. Parking was nice but I can see it being a problem on a busy weekend. Turoni's has some of the best pizza in town, but it is extremely popular and always crowded. For someone that is social and likes to be around a lot of people, this is a great place to enjoy some pizza and beer. Due to the fact that the really popular and busy all the time, service can be slow. If you don't really like a big crowd, this may not be the place for you. Patrons very in age from young to old, so I gave it three stars for being A place that anyone could enjoy. I would not suggest bringing children here. Due to the fact that they serve beer, this is not a place for kids under 13. Hint hint, get a babysitter and leave your little kids at home. read more
