Location excellent, pool outstanding! Rooms dated, they were adequate but in desperate need of updating and minor cosmetics that would take it from nice to amazing! Rugs were worn, furniture a bit uncomfortable - but the staff and pool make up for what it's lacking. I did love that the hotel was at the edge of town and just across from the public access beach. Wish the sister hotel provided beach chairs. Pricing is a bit high for the quality of interiors.

Ducks enjoying the pool. We loved watching them

Love love love Turtle Cay!!! I'm have stayed four times over the past several years and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly whether on the phone or in person. So helpful when questions came up. We thank you for a wonderful vacation and look forward to the next one.

I have visited this timeshare often. It is in need of a major upgrade and update. I had to stay longer due to a family medical emergency and my second room had scaffolding holding up the balcony. That is just simply unexpected and unacceptable. They certainly make enough to maintain this property better than this. I saw a lot of rusting on steps and other common areas. The staff is great and very accommodating. The parking is ample and underneath the resort in an underground parking area. I also parked my bike there for the week. The couches and beds are in desperate need of an update. I will definitely wait until they do some major updates before I come back. They have a few other properties on the beach.

Pull out couch in the living room. Big enough for 2 adults.

Occupancy - We were told by on-site staff prior to booking that the hotel was at 50% occupancy. After arrival we were told that they were actually at 100%. After leaving the hotel I spoke to the general manager about this and they said they were legally allowed to book at 100% room occupancy. They are only required to identify if there are more than 4 people in each room. Parking - There is a single level of parking under the hotel. There isn't enough parking for the entire hotel if it's 100% occupied. There is overflow parking in a lot across the street, but there is a $15 a night charge to park there. Room Access - The hotel is 3 levels with a garage. The only access to the actual rooms is via multiple flights of stairs, or a single elevator all the way in the rear of the parking garage. The elevator is very small and in current conditions limits multiple visitors from using it at the same time to ensure safety. There are no ramps in the entire building which means it can not be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This makes it extremely difficult when travelling with strollers. Pool - Even though the hotel is 100% occupied, only 50% of pool amenities (Chairs, umbrellas, tables, etc.) are deployed for use. People were literally trying to fight each other over amenities. Room - The room was large in size consisting of a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and one bedroom. The carpet and furniture were old in appearance and quality. In the bathroom the bathroom tub leaked water from the faucet sealings and the floor was a type of tile that made the floor extremely slippery when any water was present. The water pressure in the bathroom was also non-existent. The linens were clean in bothe the bedroom and on the pull-out couch. Trash - There is a trash drop off point on each floor where guests are supposed to drop trash through a door so that it can go down to the compactor. On multiple days guests were just leaving the trash bags inside the door to the room because the compactor was so full that trash had backed up to the door and made it impossible to add more. We also observed multiple cockroaches near this location on multiple days.

No continental breakfast but being owned by the Hilton it makes up for it. There are two pools and jacuzzis. If that isn't enough you as a guest are allowed to use their sister hotels (also owned by Hilton resorts). This place has a kitchen fully furnished. A dishwasher a washer and dryer a fire place and balcony. It's Also conveniently located in between two breakfast spots. A lot of discounts are presented to you upon check in. This is the perfect get away for you and the family or you and your significant other. There is also a fitness center. Not to mention the place is just cozy

This hotel is good and bad. First of all on Thursday August 11-12 at around 11:14 the fire alarm went off. It ended at about 3 in the morning. When I say the fire alarm went off, I mean the whole hotels alarms went off. It took two people to take it off. No one could sleep because of the ringing noise. A good thing is there pools. The hot tub was close for I don't know, maybe corona. They have a pool that goes to 1-3 feet, and it's for kids. They have a pool that goes from 3-5 feet for teens. The place is falling apart it had jacks to hold up the balcony. The place is clearly falling apart. When you don't have any parking they make you go to this creepy parking lot across the street. Shall I add there was this homeless man looking through women's window

I gave this hotel three stars because it is a nice place , the rooms are pretty nice , and the staff is accommodating when , there is an issue .... which there was. My husband and I stood here valentines weekend '19 Everything was going well until I was eaten up by bed bugs. They did a good job of getting things squared away , and giving a full refund which I didn't expect and I appreciate. But I do feel like if I didn't bring the live bug down to the office nothing would have been done. Over all it was ok besides being a bugs meal For three days.

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Overall, we had a wonderful three night stay at the Moxy Oceanfront. We selected this spot because…read moreit was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

The staff really made our stay exceptional--huge shoutout to Ryan and Clinton at the front desk and Billy and Abdullah at the restaurant. They were all fantastic! I had an overall great stay at Navy Lodge Oceana…read more The staff here can be incredibly accommodating and willing to offer help. The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
