This bar and restaurant is in a great location and has a very beachy feel. We bought a Jameson and Coke from the bar because the waitress never came back with a menu or anything. We were standing outside and away from the tables, so I won't complain much about that. The drinks were reasonably priced with a heavy pour of Jameson. I would probably stop by with my in-laws because the music and ambience seemed to cater to a bit of an older crowd. We have been to Turtle Joe's a handful of times now, and have left each time disappointed. Every single time we've been there, we have waited over an hour for our food. Yesterday we came for lunch, and waited a whole 2 hours before we got our food. Once our food came, some of it was cold, French fries were undercooked and overall we were underwhelmed. The drinks and atmosphere are always good, just don't come if you're hungry and hoping to eat sometime this century. We definitely won't be eating here again. read more

We live in the area the ambience is classic Angola on the lake. It is a fun and festive atmosphere. However, the service is absolutely horrendous three times. I have tried coming here to eat three times. I have waited over an hour and a half for service twice I left before the food came out. They are understaffed, the one time I did stay for the food they accidentally brought out a plate of clams that someone had returned, and inside said plate was a dirty tissue with a half eaten clam spit out in the napkin. While I can understand that the server was very apologetic. It was actually a hazard, my son had eaten one of the clams before he realized it was a plate. Great taste of the "tropics" in WNY!! Wonderful lake views, yummy bar food at reasonable prices (we shared a few apps, including tasty wings and a TON of nachos) and wonderful service on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I imagine things get MUCH busier during their "rush hour," but we found a table, were served quickly, and had plenty of time to enjoy the great beachfront atmosphere without feeling rushed. My wife and I had a great meal enjoyed phenomenal service and got to listen to a excellent live band all for less than 100 bucks, with several drinks included. So when we first arrived we could not get enough of the Halloween decorations, the owners and staff obviously took great pride in making the place look good. Watching migrating birds land and rest before their final trip south for the winter We ordered an appetizer and a couple of drinks and were served by a beautiful and very responsive waitress named Alanna. She was attentive to us the entire night checking in at least once every 10 minutes. The menu is pretty extensive but mostly delicious pub grub. My wife had the fried bologna which was "the best one she's ever had in her life" I had simple quesadillas which were delicious with fresh onions and tomatoes. For those who have given bad reviews in the past I would say, lighten up, because this place is a beautiful little gem in Western New York. Casual beach bar with great wings and a lovely view! Attentive service with Covid restrictions in place. Lots of outdoor seating. A variety of live music most nights. Food and drink specials nightly. A wide variety of casual bar food options. The best thing in the menu in my opinion is the wings, they were huge! Order them extra crispy and they will come out perfectly crispy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside. The everything wings are awesome, just a little spicy and tons of flavor. This bar refused me water when I was dehydrated and had been spending money and drinking there a night at the beach. The owner instead yelled at me for not purchasing an alcoholic beverage, even though I was clearly in need of water. I'm so lucky that I was not driving that night, or did not become seriously injured due to the owners negligence. I spent my whole day at Turtle Joes with my friends on the beach, spending money on parking, drinks and food at this facility. On our way out after a long day in the sun we stopped at the bar to get tap water for the way home, because they don't let you bring in your own water bottles. After rude comments from what looked like the manager, we asked the busy bar tender she rolled her eyes and continued to serve the others. After the 3rd bartender finally started getting us water the other bartender after walking over from a conversation with the "manager" told us we had to purchase bottled water & would refused our request for tap water. P.S it is a LAW that if you sell alcohol you must provide free tap water. This is ridiculous i will not be returning and will be contacting whoever i need to in order to get this fixed! read more

I am a fan, been there two times this summer The staff was efficient and on top of things. I really like that they are open all the time. We jet skied there on an 80-degree day in October. They were the only place on the lake open their way. We did just get bar food and it was good. I was amazed it was a Sunday and the Bills game and the staff was on top of the large crowd. It took a little longer for food, but we understood with the crowd they didn't expected it to be that busy. Service always makes a bar, and they were friendly and pleasant. Stereo however was much too loud for lunch conversation on the shaded part of the patio at 1 pm.
