I stopped there with my daughter after a doctor's appointment. We arrived at 11:30 and the door was locked. The sign outside said Open.

Unfortunately I did not like these donuts at all. The concept was fun and was really hoping they would be great. The donut itself is overly sweet. Combined with the ice cream just made it harder to enjoy and I'm still not including the toppings for each of the ones we got. I had maybe a quarter of each because I couldn't handle just the overall sweetness of this. Didn't feel there was anything amazing about these and just cannot find a reason to recommend. However I think kids would so love these but if you have a very limited sweet tooth I do not recommend.

I saw a sign that said to order a shirt that stated, "I love Yonutz!" That was enough to make my silly self want to go inside. While inside, I saw a Mrs. Pacman arcade and a giant connect four game... curiosity peaked for certain. I was getting off work, so I just wanted to grab doughnuts, but I see I shorted myself of an opportunity. Why did I see this woman put ice cream and cookies in between two doughnuts? She took that doughnut concoction and put it in a press that heated up the item. I felt crazy just getting doughnuts at that point, but I was ready to get home. Just know this, these doughnuts are light and tasty. My frugal meter isn't in love with this place, but sometimes you have to treat yourself. The specialty doughnuts have me wanting to try all creations. I think this place is worth coming to and time or two.

I wasn't expecting it to hit the way it did, but everything was fresh, hot, and actually really good. Food: Everything tasted way better than expected. The food had that fresh-made feel instead of tasting overly fast-food-ish. You can tell they actually care about quality, and it definitely stood out. Whatever we ordered was hitting from the first bite. Service: Service was smooth and friendly with no problems at all. The staff kept things moving, and the food came out quick. Ambiance: The place was clean, comfortable, and had a good overall atmosphere. It felt easygoing and made for a good stop while we were out in Houston for the rodeo. Overall: Culver's definitely surprised me in the best way possible. That place was fire, and I'll absolutely be running that back again next time I get the chance lol.

We ordered the double butterburger, the Alaskan cod sandwich and the fried shrimp with fries. The burger patties were thin, but the double came with fresh lettuce, tomato, and your choice of other toppings. I must say the beef flavor was definitely there. The fish sandwich was light and flaky and though the fillet was a bit small, it was delicious. My wife tried the fried shrimp and found the batter light and not overpowering, though the seasoning seemed to be just in the breading rather than the shrimp itself. Service was courteous and patient as you navigate a huge menu selection on their board. Culver's was quiet as a typical restaurant and not fast food variety. All in all, we got drinks and essentially three meals for under $30, so the hype is definitely real.
