Today my visit here at tutti frutti delight was anything but a delight. The customer service was rude I got a fruit cup, the fruit was bad and she charged us extra for plastic forks. Usually when I go the service is better. The lady at the window was making faces and giving attitude. However, if you do go hopefully you don't get the same server I did. But I highly recommend the acai bowl.

I stopped by this place for lunch as I was passing through Alice and it was delicious! It's a small, diner-like place where you order at the counter and then sit in one of the booths. When I say small, I mean small...there's maybe 10 booths to sit? There's also a drive-through which remained busy from the time I got there to the time I left. The place is known for their homemade chicken salad sandwich. They also have other sandwiches, but of course I went for the most "famous" one. For a combo, it was a fantastic deal. After tax it was less than $9 and came with a sandwich that was heaping with the chicken salad (on white or wheat bread), tea or lemonade, a bag of chip, and your choice of another side (I ordered the shrimp cocktail, which was basically ceviche and delicious). The food came out quickly and was very good. I noticed that they also had a variety of shakes, although I didn't order one. Whom I presume to be the owner, cake and checked on me at one point to make sure all was good...that was a very nice gesture. This place was good and I would go here again.

I feel bad writing a bad review, but I'd feel bad if anyone else was misled like we were! We simply wanted a good light lunch while driving through on our way to the Valley. It is NOT a deli. It's your mom making your lunch for school...literally. Store-bought sandwich bread and some filling. Bag of chips. Do not expect anything more. The "famous" chicken salad was very sad. I feel bad if that hurts any feelings, but I have to be honest.

J.R. Salad! Fresh mangos, strawberries, avocados, and veggies with grilled chicken! So good :)

The chicken salad is addicting and was once featured in Texas Monthly. Lots of great healthy options and there is a drive thru! My favorites are the J.R. Salad with grilled chicken, the chicken salad sandwiches, and shrimp cocktails. I posted a picture of the salad and shrimp. The shrimp cocktail is delicious!

    1/2 order JR Salad...delicious!

Ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and it was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I have had in a long time. Will de getting more BBQ ever time I get close. Also will be getting some of their BBQ sauce that they use. Getting a gallon of that. Great service, food and just a great small town store.

Ordering first, get your own drink, pick up a desert (included with meal) and sit down in the rustic themed dining area. We got there early so it wasn't crowded....yet. A very reasonable short wait and our food was brought out....a lot of it. The portions are very generous. I got brisket, sausage, pinto beans and potato salad. Wife got a beef rib, sausage and the same sides. To be very frank, two people could split one plate and be very satisfied. A desert is included and the choices were a couple of different cobblers and two or three pudding varieties. The meats: OMG. The beef rib slipped out of the meat when my wife picked up the bone. What remained on the plate could be cut with her plastic spoon. Smokey, SUPER tender and just glorious. The brisket was just as tender--cutting not really needed. It pulls apart. And like the rib, flavor on point...just incredible smokey meat flavor. I went in hungry and could only eat half of my order. The sausage was just as wonderful with a firm snap of the casing without being chewy. We both thought the potato salad was one of the best BBQ joint potato salads we've had. I thought the beans (a bit of BBQ flavor) were a little spicy, wife didn't think so at all. Even the onions and pickles were top notch....they make their own pickles. The drive from Corpus was to go here. We didn't have any other reason to go to Woodsboro or the area. TOTALLY worth the drive and if you're simply in the Refugio/Woodsboro area...this is THE place to go. And as a grocery/meat market...quaint with some of the friendliest people you're likely to meet. The meat deals they offer look great. We WILL DEFINITELY make the drive again. BTW, we've got enough leftovers for another full meal each. (I ate my leftovers on Monday for lunch, reheated it's just as tender and flavorful.) What a treasure Woodsboro has in Tuttles!
