I ordered the chicken salad add tomato and it was sooo good! The pasta salad is meh. Not much flavor and just takes like olives. My boyfriend got the poblano chicken special and it was yummy! This place is just terrific. I've eaten here for years and it's wonderful. I normally go between the chicken salad, tuna salad, or whatever is on special, which is normally great! This past weekend, I was having a large party and decided I wanted Taylor Center Deli to cater my sandwich trays. I had never used their catering services. It was a hassle-free experience from beginning to end and the sandwiches were delicious. We went with a combo of chicken salad, tuna, and pimiento sandwiches. Everything was delicious. My guests were from Houston and Dallas, with sophisticated palates and couldn't believe how great the sandwiches were. Everyone wanted to know more about my secret sandwich shop! Though they are closed weekends, they are more than willing to accommodate weekend events with notice. The owner even delivered my sandwiches to save me a drive. I wasn't that hungry when a friend said "I found this place is close by, we should go try it". It's a little plaza with a few little businesses, and there's this deli that seemed to shine as much as every other place in the middle of a plaza in CC. I walked in and noticed something different immediately. First off, it wasn't busy, at all. It was clean and fresh in appearance. The wall decorations looked like ones you'd find in your favorite grandparents' kitchen, including old black and white family photos. There were 2 employees up front in the greatest shorts I'd ever witnessed a deli to attire. They greeted us immediately which took me by surprise. A lot of times when people say "hi, welcome to____", well, they either don't say that at all or they aren't even making eye contact with you when they say it. But we locked eyes and they forced my face into an unexpected grin as I smiled back at them. They could tell I had no clue what I wanted, this was my first time. So they immediately offered me a paper menu. I found a sandwich immediately that stuck out to me just by the name and ordered it. The drink station isn't a fountain machine- it's a fridge of canned soda, bottled or pitcher water, even a Keurig for coffee. The simplicity, the kindness, the cleanliness, and the openness really took me off guard. I'm a small town girl and I avoid CC like the plague if I can. This place made me so comfortable. Within 10 minutes it was "order up!" And another man I hadn't seen before brought us our lunches. He told us to have a great lunch, to enjoy, once again there's that eye contact that made his words sound like he intended for us to truly just enjoy lunch, not "this is our 9-5 hurry up and go". It was a VERY decent sized sandwich with a little pasta salad cup I ordered on the side, and a deli pickle. I couldn't even finish it no matter how hard I tried. From the first bite- I got a sandwich and my friend got a burger- we both looked at eachother in disbelief. I'm not blowing this out of proportion. We didn't know how to go about leaving a tip at this exact location but we made the effort to go straight back up front to those who took our order to give a cash tip before leaving. Really good place with nice decor. Came in to kill time while wife was having day surgery and saw the bread pudding. The bread part was OK, but you could pour the sauce on a dog biscuit and have people standing in line. Portion is too big unless you plan to take it with you. Coffee is served in real ceramic cups. It is 2pm and still a steady flow of customers. Sign says best burger in town so I will come back and check it out. Based on the reviews you probably need help ordering to get exactly what you want but I'm going to try the Bohemian burger which is a half pounder. I got the roast beef sandwich with chipotle bread and it was pretty damn good. Their deserts looked great as well, you can also buy their bread by the loaf which I will be doing. Just had the Chicken Caesar salad for the first time, and it was amazing. The breaded chicken was cooked to perfection, and the lettuce was super crispy, even hours later. Lead me to write my first review on Yelp! I have had almost everything on the menu. The daily soup specials are awesome, lobster bisque, black bean soup, etc. The home made breads are great on a club, cranberry walnut and cheddar chipotle breads. The deserts are to die. Rocky road brownie is my favorite, always super moist, and I have never seen one anywhere else. If the food was not enough, the service is excellent. They know my girlfriend by name, and me at least by face. They know it is us when we call in to go orders. Only downfall is they close at like 3pm or else I would be eating it for dinner some too. We eat here usually once a week, at the very least once every two weeks. read more

I have never written a bad review and certainly didn't want to today. However, this was the worst place for customer service I have ever been to. The manager on duty took our order. It was simple, soup, salad and tea. The food came out when I was in the restroom. When I came back out, we just had a salad and tea. Where was the soup my wife had asked? Well, the manager didn't hear the order. Thus no soup. I do believe the manager asked her if she would like it any way and to be charged. She declined. No big deal. When I asked the manager about the soup later after thinking about it and feeling hungry still because we split a salad and no soup, I went up and asked the manager what happened. She explained nicely at first. Said she couldn't hear and that she is sick. Well ok. Then she got all upset. I asked to speak to the owner or her boss. She said ok and went to the back. My wife and I waited for 10 minutes. The owner or whoever she was came out to take another customers order. She looked at us. I expected her to come to our table next. She then went back to the back. My wife and I were just perplexed. Another 5 mins came and went, then the manager came out with a bowl of soup. I said we didn't want the soup, only to talk to the boss. She walked off and spat out "She is busy!" WOW Do not go here! I will definitely be looking for other review areas to post a bad review of the customer service. read more

If I worked closer, I would have to ask my boss for a raise because I would be eating there every day and would definitely be spending more time at the gym because of it! I went there for lunch just today. I got there at about 11:45am. I understand it was the lunch rush. I ordered the special. After I ordered I sat at a table for about twenty minute. I notice a gentleman that walked in after me got served the special well ahead of me. I assume he is a regular but I still think that is rude of this place. I'm also pretty sure the lady behind me ordered the special to go and she was gone before I got my order. About twenty minutes went by without my food and I started to get a bad feeling. A staff member called my name out and informed me they were out of the special. He offered to bring me something else instead. For the two reasons I stated before I told him just to give me my money back. As he was doing so I noticed the kitchen was still serving the special. When the staff member came back I asked him about it and he said some people call their orders in before they come in. I think it's rude they don't serve the people that are in their establishment before they serve the call ins. I was there and I waited 20 minutes for nothing. Very upset I headed back to work hungry.
