I highly recommend Tuttle's Cigars. They have a very nice selection and Mark is really fair with his pricing...definitely the best in the area! I stop in every time I'm in Grand Rapids, which is several times a month. They carry some pretty hard-to-get cigars that I like, and Mark is selling these at suggested retail, while other retailers in the area, State, and on-line, are absolutley price gouging their customers. I'm all for capitalism and free markets, but I'm also free to choose where I conduct business. I admire honesty, and Tuttle's Cigars has earned my loyalty. First time I stopped in talked with Mark and he showed me around the humidor, sat down and enjoyed the first cigar. I stop in every time in town and are always greeted with a friendly smile and a hello. Never have a boring visit always someone to talk to, have had some great visits while enjoying a Hemingway. When you are a production assistant for a rock show, sometimes you find yourself tasked with procuring something that you don't know a whole lot about. I was given the mission to find some very specific cigars for some guys involved in the production and had not been to a cigar shop in over a decade, let alone in West Michigan. This is where Yelp comes in: the reviews for Tuttle's made me confident that I'd be able to find what I needed, quickly and conveniently. Simple enough to locate off 28th Street, with very helpful additional signage that directs you to the entrance in the rear of the building, Tuttle's is located in an unassuming office/multi-use space behind everyone's favorite party store. The shop smells like a dream, even to a non-smoker, and has a lounge area in addition to its many cases and walk-in humidor. My companion and I browsed while Mark, the owner, finished up with another client. Unable to find exactly what was on my 'shopping list', we asked Mark for some recommendations of similar--and perhaps better-- cigars. He was happy to oblige and picked out a few of his faves. Pretty nice little tobacconist with a lounge in GR. I stopped in here when I was in town and picked up a smoke to enjoy in their lounge. Couple nice guys in the lounge area but kind of "cliquey" - everyone seemed to be regulars and I was the "odd man out". Not a big deal, we made some small talk and went about our business. The proprietor, Mark, is a really nice guy. Good prices, compared to a lot of other places I've been. Would definitely recommend swinging in here if you're in GR and looking for a premium handmade. read more

Stopped in and met the owner, Mark. Explained my daughter was getting married and I do not know anything about cigars. I told him I wanted something mild that would not leave a burned tire taste afterwards. Mark recommended the Arturo Fuente Petite Coronas for two reasons. One, they were mild in taste and two, they were petites so the bride would not be wondering where all the guys went for two hours. He was 100% right on both counts. They smoked mild, leaving little after taste and kept us "detained" for only a half hour or so. The perfect match to our event. He even threw in a couple of cutters and some matches. What a great guy! While I don't know much about cigars, thanks to Mark Tuttle's is now my ONLY source for all things cigars. OUTSTANDING customer service, great humidor and selection, extremely knowledgeable without any arrogance which allows a novice like me to feel right at home. I'm not a big cigar smoker, but I have been going to Tuttle's for over 15 years to purchase them for friends and relatives who are big cigar smokers. Buying Cigars can be a little intimidating when you don't know a lot, but Tuttle's makes it easy. I've been to other places that make you feel like "you don't know anything, what are you doing here"? But, not at Tuttle's, the staff is very knowledgeable & extraordinarily friendly. In fact, the last time I went, I actually hung out for 20 minutes after my purchase and and enjoyed a cigar myself in their lounge. Tuttle's is convenient from the aspect that its just a few blocks from the malls on 28th street, but kind of hidden with-in the center in which they operate.
