We have watched and been the recipients of her kind, loving, and generous heart. She has built wonderful studios that are a safe place for our children to not only learn and grow as dancers, but also grow into confident young women. She has continued to evolve her studios, offering new and current styles of dance while always keeping that personal touch. Her teachers are professionals in their own right and help our children learn, create, and thrive. Sophie is also able to accommodate every level and interest in dance... from the little ones just starting out (who are always the cutest on stage!), to older dancers with a true passion for dance, to the competition teams for those who love the challenge and commitment of competing. Having dance in my girls' lives and being part of the Sophie Dance family has been one of the biggest highlights of their lives. They are still constantly dancing in front of the TV, making up routines, and performing for the family. Sadly, our time with Sophie is coming to an end. Admittedly some of the beginners classes don't feel like beginners because many people already know the moves lol Every class I've attend, the instructor had great energy, broke down the moves easily, was open to questions, and made you feel confident! If you're new to the Playground here are some tips: - come early to find parking. Yes there's limited meter parking, but there are streets that let you park from 8-8pm without a permit for 2 hours - bring water you will sweat! - you can walk in with a bag of your clothes and additional shoes since they have dressing rooms - come with a friend if you're shy and so they can record you if you want - make sure your phone is charged so you can ask someone to record what you learned - remind yourself that you're here to have fun! You can get in your head when so many around you are so good and comfortable. Also, instructors usually get dancers at the end to dance with them for videos and it can feel like youre not good when they don't choose you but remember: you're there for fun

It was too packed for the teacher to engage the kids and was generally chaotic and stressful. the fee included all of the props required for the class, but it was just a bag of dollar store crap - couldn't have been worth more than a few bucks. For $85 they can buy and maintain their own props for the students and keep them at the studio. We were really disappointed and didn't even take our second trial class.

I took the 6 week beginner shuffle program and it was a game changer if you want to learn how to shuffle. The beginner shuffle is every Monday 8pm-10pm. Highly suggest not missing any class because each class is packed with new moves. You learn all different kinds of moves and choreo. We had Brea and Mary Grace was our instructors and they are super awesome! They're super upbeat and always bring so much energy for a 2 hour class!! 2 hour class goes by super fast! I like that if you're struggling with how to move or any questions you have, they would break down the moves so it's comprehensible and answer any questions. Make sure you bring: good shoes, water and towel (if you sweat a lot) You can even record yourself, make sure the people behind you are ok with it. Restrooms in the building. Plenty of free street parking. Entrance: ring the bell for Gravity Dance because there are other companies sharing the building. The building is also super cool and the decor is so warehouse-like.

Somehow two of my three looks "got lost" and I never received them. They took no accountability and told me that all photos that were taken should be included in the Dropbox but that wasn't the case. My looks were nowhere. Additionally, right after I brought this up to them I stopped receiving emails for internships and opportunities for their job board. It definitely wasn't a coincidence. They told me that I "unsubscribed" (which I didn't) and there was no way to re-add me back on the list.. doesn't even sound believable. I spent thousands of dollars and it was a waste. I don't even think this is a business anymore but if it is, steer clear :)

Have no idea why they call it as NEW, probably jsut PR, it's the same old course from 2015.. Really fun how they promote that class as NEW.. There was NOTHING new. The information they give is just for beginners. The price is greatly overestimated! Seriously, you can find all this information from books, almost for free.
