We have watched and been the recipients of her kind, loving, and generous heart. She has built wonderful studios that are a safe place for our children to not only learn and grow as dancers, but also grow into confident young women. She has continued to evolve her studios, offering new and current styles of dance while always keeping that personal touch. Her teachers are professionals in their own right and help our children learn, create, and thrive. Sophie is also able to accommodate every level and interest in dance... from the little ones just starting out (who are always the cutest on stage!), to older dancers with a true passion for dance, to the competition teams for those who love the challenge and commitment of competing. Having dance in my girls' lives and being part of the Sophie Dance family has been one of the biggest highlights of their lives. They are still constantly dancing in front of the TV, making up routines, and performing for the family. Sadly, our time with Sophie is coming to an end. We have been with her for over 20 years, and this will be our last dance recital as my youngest graduates from high school. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We dance across multiple groups--I used to train in the same class with one of my daughters, my oldest daughter is currently in another group, and my younger one attends every Sunday. We buy a lot of classes here. We were actually planning to buy even more, despite the fact that their system is completely inflexible: there are no memberships, no discounts, and the classes are quite expensive. We stayed because we truly love the instructors and the overall dance level.However, the way they treat parents is absolutely unacceptable. I am beyond frustrated by the fact that I am not allowed to use the restroom while waiting for my child. They have a restroom accessible from the courtyard. I can understand that they don't provide parking spaces for waiting parents, but not letting a parent use the restroom during a 1.5 to 2-hour wait is beyond comprehension.This is the second time I have been practically kicked out of the restroom, treated with such a look as if I were a homeless person off the street. As a paying customer, I find this incredibly rude, humiliating, and disrespectful. This is an absolute failure in customer service.I work as a professional film actress and model, so I have extensive experience visiting high-end studios and various locations worldwide. In most reputable places, parents are welcomed inside; they are provided with a waiting area, Wi-Fi, water, or at least a place to sit. At Playground LA, you aren't even allowed basic human dignity like using the bathroom. For a studio of this caliber, this level of service is wild and completely unacceptable. I am deeply disappointed.

It was too packed for the teacher to engage the kids and was generally chaotic and stressful. the fee included all of the props required for the class, but it was just a bag of dollar store crap - couldn't have been worth more than a few bucks. For $85 they can buy and maintain their own props for the students and keep them at the studio. We were really disappointed and didn't even take our second trial class.

I took the 6 week beginner shuffle program and it was a game changer if you want to learn how to shuffle. The beginner shuffle is every Monday 8pm-10pm. Highly suggest not missing any class because each class is packed with new moves. You learn all different kinds of moves and choreo. We had Brea and Mary Grace was our instructors and they are super awesome! They're super upbeat and always bring so much energy for a 2 hour class!! 2 hour class goes by super fast! I like that if you're struggling with how to move or any questions you have, they would break down the moves so it's comprehensible and answer any questions. Make sure you bring: good shoes, water and towel (if you sweat a lot) You can even record yourself, make sure the people behind you are ok with it. Restrooms in the building. Plenty of free street parking. Entrance: ring the bell for Gravity Dance because there are other companies sharing the building. The building is also super cool and the decor is so warehouse-like.

It was very awkward and she offered very little assistance with getting the moves down. The entire class should've just been us practicing the steps and trying to get it faster, not trying to coordinate it with music. I had to leave halfway through class because it was so awkward and I wasn't getting any assistance or alternate instruction for different ways of trying things out.
