The home made burgers were delicious and cooked to perfection, the fries extra crisp, and the BLT sandwich on the homemade bread really fresh. Compliments to the chef. For breakfast on a road trip, you can stop at McDonalds and buy a mystery puck with egg, or you can roll the dice with the locals. That's what we did at the Twilight Diner, and it was a fine choice. This is a local greasy spoon, but the breakfast was served up perfectly. Waffles, Canadian bacon, home fries, coffee. All above average. Recommended when passing through. The view from the street is a bit deceiving but once cute lil diner vibe was all there once you walked in the door. Locals sitting at the counter chatting away while the server greeted us immediately. We stopped in for breakfast on a journey back home and we were not disappointed. Waffles, pancakes, home fries, Canadian bacon, and regular bacon filled our bellies. Everything cooked to perfection!! Coffee was good, which you sometimes don't find in diners. The home fries?! I ordered a large Caesar salad. ($10)I received a bowl of iceberg lettuce that I wouldn't give to a hamster. Beyond wilted, it was brown. I was told that all the lettuce arrives that way. Any restaurant that would serve composted lettuce does not have the food knowledge to be serving anything. The sweet potato fries were ok. And BTW, a Caesar is made with Romaine lettuce. read more

A serendipitous find in Central PA for our trips to Pitt from NJ! Fresh food and friendly staff and easy stop off Rt 80.

Meh. We clearly arrived just after a rush, most of the tables hadn't been cleared. There was one server, but I could see your or five people in the kitchen. The server commented that she had to do everything while the others took 20 minutes to clean 2 cups. Hubby ordered three appetizers (for $18), and they all came out of the freezer. He did enjoy them. The pita for my pizzasteak was homemade and fresh, but there wasn't much filling, it was tasty. read more

I got a cheeseburger on their amazing really thing bread and it was sublime. A family of 8 next to us ordered everything there was on the menu (slight exaggeration). I have eaten at TD five times since March. Each time I tried a different food. Unfortunately, it has been all down hill since then. They really need to hire a real cook. The meals have all been cooked ok , it's just the end result that is a disaster. The meatloaf is a thick slice and is seasoned ok, but it is smothered in dark canned "meat" gravy. The haddock fish dinner or sandwich is way below what other local restaurants serve because it is most certainly the triangular frozen Mrs.Pauls type. The burgers are just ok. The turkey dinner meal might be the best entre. However, the chicken and waffles is a definite do not order. My last order "chicken and waffles", basically was canned white "chicken" gravy on a very sweet breakfast waffle. There was no identifiable chicken anywhere. The waitress servers are attentive and are often in need of help, but always busting their butts to take care of a full restaurant single handily. Not saying I would not go again but I'm running out of options to order. I like that it is always clean and a good clientele. read more

This place was hopping when I stoped at lunchtime on a long drive through Pennsylvania. One waitress was handling the whole place, and she did an excellent job, attentive and friendly. I had a 6 oz burger "twilight style", which means on homemade bread. The bread was definitely a cut above an ordinary bun. I asked for medium rare and got more like medium well, but it was tasty. The fries were quite good, too. If I stop here again I'll probably try some other hot sandwich on the homemade bread. read more

My husband and I ate there for dinner last night. The food was delicious and the service was good. There were approximately 25 people In the restaurant at 6:45pm with one waitress. She of course had to handle the take out beer business as well as the 25 of us. She was AWESOME and never faltered with all her tasks. The restaurant has daily specials which we did not try but many patrons did. The portions were huge for the price. We will definitely be back when traveling this way. The owner and at least one of his employees need to be educated on with purpose of a "real ID"because the last I knew they were not an airport that requires the real ID. but yet kicked a customer out because his license said "not for real ID purpose" he was a complete jerk about it and there was really no need for the way he acted to the customer. As a customer who has been supporting his bus as long as he has owned it, I will no longer be supporting it after this incident because I didn't not like the way the owner acted. read more

I gave the Twilight a 3 star review not because the food, service or cleanliness was lacking - these were all very good and normally I'd give it four stars. We were there for breakfast and the one negative issue Twilight has is the time to get food - it's slow! I don't know if the kitchen lacks space or the cook can't multitask, but whatever the issue if you're in a hurry, Twilight will frustrate you. From what I saw it looks like the kitchen is not all that large and there was only one cook on station while we were there. There were only four tables occupied and it still took about 25 minutes to get food on the table. The waitress was very nice, checked on us more than once and give us coffee refills, so no service complaints. The diner has been updated and looks fine from the outside - inside is clean and bright. If the owner gets the kitchen straightened out, would be a great stop along I-80. read more

If you're on a road trip this diner is definitely worth the stop! The burgers are ground steak and come in 3 different sizes. My burger was cooked perfectly and served with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had! Twilight Diner put their own spin on the traditional steak sandwich, serving it with the usual peppers and onions and then adding red sauce and melting cheese on top of that-delicious!! I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the ratio of bread to meat was a bit off on the steak sandwich. Don't get me wrong. The bread is really good but there was too much of it. I read previous reviews mentioning an abundance of flies. Sorry folks-no wildlife flying around today. Reiterating what others have already said, if you are not a local, they will drag their feet to serve you. We waited 45 minutes after ordering two meals (one single pancake) (eggs + home fries + bacon) before walking out. During these 45 minutes we watched entire families come in and get served quickly while we were not checked up on a single time.
