July 2023. Roadtripping through. When I saw it was all day breakfast, I said yes. I love breakfast. I don't know what the other low reviews were about. Staffing has been hard for any establishment these last few years. This place was packed when we arrived at the back end of lunch rush. 3 servers. People rotated in as others were leaving. The interior design was local art put up for sale. Lots of country motif. Different themed wreaths and unique things. I saw something different on the menu. I asked the waitress what "scrapple" is. She tried to describe it with a look on her face that had me smiling. Then she asked the cook as she walked by. She said, "If you haven't had it, don't order it. You won't like it!" We all had a good laugh with that. I googled it. Being from the Midwest, I had to know. "It is traditionally a mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and wheat flour, often buckwheat flour and spices. The mush is formed into a semi-solid congealed loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then pan-fried before serving. Scraps of meat left over from butchering, not used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is primarily eaten in the southern Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. " I took the cooks word and passed on it. I got a delightful breakfast, and hubby got the meatball sub, which he enjoyed greatly. The waitress was great. The food came out hot. They were busy, so it took a bit, but that was expected. We ate our fill. I also was super curious about the homemade Whoopie Pies that we had to get one to go. It was awesome, too. Make the stop. It's a good establishment and not a chain. Enjoy your all-day breakfast.

Fantastic place!!!! Cozy inviting atmosphere, great food and the best people! I sat at counter for awhile both times I was there. Waitresses super accommodating and this place obviously delivers consistently b/c lots of regulars stop in and are treated like family. The food is fresh and a great value for the money. I look forward to visiting the Earlystown whenever I am in the area.

My wife and I first time to this quaint diner. A large menu. Service and staff were pleasant and helpful with our order. Our food arrived hot when delivered to our table.

Food is generally good here. Service is okay. I tried to substitute one pancake for toast and up-charge was 5 dollars! Yikes!

The recent menu has a great diversity of options ranging from salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I elected to go with the Birra ramen, not something I would expect to find at this establishment or in this neck of the woods. I was knocked back at how good it was. The broth had rich flavor and the right amount of spice, not enough to burn your mouth, but warm it up and tingle your lips. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. It hit the spot on a chilly winter night. If you find yourself in the gap and looking for spot to grab a good hearty bite to eat and drink, the Red Horse is your spot!

It felt like you were in an old country dining room. I loved it. I got the country fried chicken with eggs and home fries. The kid got a sausage and egg sandwich and the wife got a western omelette. I got a side of scrapple, well.. because I never had it and had to try it. Everything was great. To top it off, the price can't be beat. For 3 people, it ran us $45. Back in NJ, we're dropping a C note easily on the breakfast that we had. On the way out, the had a little "snacks to go" and in there was..... crickets. Yes, real crickets. I had to get it. Didn't taste like anything but I can now say I've ate a cricket. If you're on a trip on Route 80 and looking for something outside the box... This is the place to try!

I had sirloin tips and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The steak was cooked as I ordered and pretty tender for diner steak. We also shared an appetizer of chicken bites (zingers) which were very good. The dining area is charming and clearly from another era. The portions here are not 'you can eat for 3 days from 1 order' huge, they are filling but not probably shareable sized. Seniors will appreciate the smaller portions along with a drink and desert for a low price offered for 55 and over. I absolutely loved that I could eat my (non-senior) entire dinner and a few chicken bites without being too full for dessert. I had a single scoop sundae for desert and it was just what it sounded like. Including tax (but not tip) our 2 normal entrees, 2 soft drinks, 2 deserts and a shared appetizer came in just under 60 dollars. That's an extraordinary value in 2026.

I had a great lunch with an awesome Rueben and shoe string fries. Home made corned beef on an excellent marbled rye. FYI The fries were a little cold. The star of breakfast was the corned beef hash, simply top notch. We will return for a second experience.
