Great little spot for a delicious breakfast that's isn't overpriced. Definitely stop here along your trek up and down route 17.

I love this place! It's small but I've never waited more than a few minutes for a place to sit. The wait staff is friendly and never forget your order or if you ask for something. The food is delicious. I really enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and the omelette I got a previous time. The omelette comes with the option of homemade bread which is delicious. The one meal I wasn't fond of was the montecristo. I felt that the French toast was too eggy. Could have also used a side of syrup. Will definitely be returning soon!

COVID-19 Full on experience with appropriate distance... Back again (as I said I would). Becky's has made all the necessary accommodations for us big eaters! Behind the wall there were 7 or 8 tables complete with umbrellas throwing shade. BOOM! S A T I S F I E D

I happened upon this restaurant by chance. I have been providing transportation for a Vietnam veteran for some time now. This morning he needed to be at the local Veterans clinic for blood work. He wanted breakfast at a New York diner. I looked on Google maps and found Becky's. Inquiries into this diner said it was a great place to eat and very popular. As you can see from the attached photos, this place stands out. The inside is as neat and bright as the outside and the US and veterans motif continues on. Upon arrival I met 4 other Vietnam veterans that have breakfast there every Tuesday. The selections for breakfast were over the top and the prices are absolutely reasonable. I do not normally patronized New York, but for this restaurant, I will.

The lady running the cash register was more focused on drink making then taking our order which mind you, is fair since it seemed like she was the only one making drinks too. However, she went so slow to make other drinks since she started to chat up a regular. Again, not the worst thing but you should still move a little quicker for a morning coffee shop. When we placed our order, we had to wait awhile since the chatting continued and honestly, I had no idea why it would take so long to pull one or two shots of espresso and froth milk but ten plus minutes later and damn. The latte was utter undrinkable. The milk tasted off and it was barely frothed. It had the flavor of a wet dishcloth that sat around for too long. The espresso had no flavor either and it was just hot water. The nitro cold brew tasted a bit better but honestly, I've had better on tap. I give it a two stars because the decor was cute. I heard a dog bark around where the food items were which was off putting to me so I refrained from ordering food so I cannot comment on that. I mean unless you're a local, you probably can skip out of this place if you want a decent drink.

She did say the egg was a little too hard for her liking but I think that is probably an easy fix...tell them in advance how you want it cooked. I had a scrambled bowl and it was so much food! It took a while for me to get up the courage to try it, even though there was an overwhelming chance I would be dissatisfied. I wasn't disappointed. It is a "Foo Foo" place in the truest sense of the term. In the 45 minutes I sat there in a booth, not one other male showed their face. I was near enough to the ordering counter to hear what the women were ordering - Lattes, pastries, Artisan soup and sandwiches, Artisan wraps, were the most popular selections. Clever marketing. Tack on the word ARTISAN on the menu and they charge double the true value. There were only 4 booths, but one was open, but the table top had not been cleaned. I had to interrupt the owner playing with his cell phone to do his job. Then I had to wipe down the top because he left it all wet. As for my lunch, I had their TBA for $14. It turned out to be 2 oz of turkey with two thin strips of bacon & a miserly piece of avocado with mayo on toasted bread (not really a panini). Still wondering where the mozzarella was. To add value the owner gives you a $0.50 bag of chips with the sandwich. The mayo was excellent! While tasty I was expecting it to be on a roll as the menu described. Bummer. (When I was leaving the order counter woman offered no apology for the mistake.) I ate slowly to immerse myself in the experience. Just an FYI - Panera Bread, which is known for its high prices, charges less than $14 for this same sandwich plus a bag of chips. Theirs is a triple decker. By comparison my sandwich looked like it was prepared by a free soup kitchen on a strict budget. Check the Panera site. https://www.panerabread.com/content/panerabread_com/en-us/menu/products/grilled-chicken-and-avo-blt.html My sandwich looked like a squashed grilled cheese sandwich. An even better deal than Panera, last month I went down the road (1 mile) to THE GRILLE, Their TB Club, is a triple decker fully dressed and served with a generous portion of fries and homemade pickles for $17. I remembered that I struggled to handle that handheld beast. It was a manly feast. I wound up taking half home to relish the next day for my lunch. Reeses in Waverly offers a triple decker too with fries and slaw for $13. The grand finale is that in addition to the unreal pricing, the owner adds 3% to the bill for credit cards. Really? He needs the extra $0.50 that badly. $16 without tip. Oh, I forgot to mention. You order at the counter, pay upfront, you seat yourself after trying to find a clean table, wipe down the table yourself, and a kitchen employee delivers the prepared sandwich. No followup by any employee to see if everything is Okay. It turned out to be a smart move not to leave a tip at the time of ordering. DON'T! Maybe if you are tight for time you might consider the Vanilla Bean. Please note that it is too small to be considered "intimate." If you are looking to satisfy a true hunger at a great price go to the Grille. Thank God for Guthrie, who I think provides most of Vanilla Bean's customers. OH, I ALMOST FORGOT: HEY VANILLA BEAN ! - UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE WITH AN UPDATED MENU AND USE THE CORRECT PRICING.

We originally sat outside but it was a little noisy with the cars going by at the stop light. We moved inside and had the best time. The service was great! Our waitress was so nice and attentive. I ordered Loni's red flight, one of my friends ordered the pomegranate hibiscus fizz with tequila instead of vodka, and my other friend ordered Trista's white flight. We got the crispy Brussel sprouts to start with and they were delicious. For our entrees we ordered the Mediterranean rice bowl, beer battered fish and chips, and the zesty chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. All three were really good and full of flavor. Once we finished eating the table was cleared and then I ordered a slice of carrot cake. When it was brought out they had added a candle and came over to sing happy birthday to me, including the owner, and it was the perfect finish to our dinner. The cake was amazing! If you're stopping in for a drink and to hang out, it's probably a solid spot. The food, though, was a major letdown. My steak sandwich was disappointing, and the "side" of onion rings was literally four individual pieces. Four. That's not a side -- that's a garnish. The nachos were worse. Lukewarm Velveeta poured over completely unseasoned shredded chicken, brown guacamole that looked like it had been sitting out too long, and everything about it felt rushed -- like it was thrown together in two minutes without a second thought. The emphasis was clearly on quantity over quality. Her chicken sandwich wasn't any better -- bland, unseasoned, and somehow still had the pattern from the frozen packaging imprinted on the bottom. That's not a great sign. Bottom line: nice place to grab a drink. But unless you're already inebriated and not paying attention, I'd skip the food.
