A Staple in Our Office!…read more Today, we had an impromptu all-hands meeting, and I needed to put in a rush order for 15 sandwiches at 10 AM. The team at Sandwich Board went above and beyond, having everything ready 15 minutes early, even during their busy lunch rush! As if that wasn't enough, they generously included potato salad and mac salad on the house! The sandwiches were not only delicious but also loved by everyone, including our team members from out of town. A huge thank you to Sandwich Board for their amazing service and mouthwatering food. They truly deserve 5 stars all around!

We come and my dad is trying to communicate what he wanted on his sandwich, and everyone is particular about everything so before you quick jump to "it's just a sandwich" we pay for good service and we tip good and i'm writing this in hopes this doesn't happen to anyone else in the board. My dad wanted everything on his sandwich as well as lite mustard and etc and the lady who makes the sandwiches wasn't listening and kept trying to say she got it and she's working on it. I've worked in food service for years and it is important to hear what a customer is asking for because after all, it's their food. We got home, no tomatoes, sandwich was missing stuff, my boyfriend's sandwich was missing stuff. It was disappointing. My father was very upset. I think they could be more friendly as well as being more adapting to certain people who are just communicating a specific need or want in their purchase. We will be calling later in hopes to remove or change this review. Thank you.

They're very generous with their meat portions too. Their pizza is amazing!! Reminds me of when our older Italian neighbor would make me pizza as a kid. It's more of a grab and go spot as there's only one small table outside with two chairs-there is a dog leash hitch though that's handy! Great place to stop by for your sandwich or Italian fix!

Great texture. Yet despite the heartiness, you can really taste the quality of the ingredients (they source their ingredients from Italy). I've enjoyed talking to the wife (co-owner with her husband). She's really friendly and passionate about the food she serves. She told me her husband is from Italy, and you can really feel the pride in the food. Pro tips: It's best to call in early to order ahead! You can pay at pickup. Why? Because they often sell out early! Once the bread runs out, you're out of luck (and there will be a sign on the front door saying so). There can also be a very long wait time if there are a lot of orders. Lastly, check their IG everyday for the sandwich they're promoting that day based on their available ingredients! Seriously can't wait to return and try the meatball sandwich.

Hubby got a Black Garlic Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fried Chicken Thigh, Black Garlic Sauce, House Pickles & Pear Slaw on toasted brioche bun. He enjoyed it but it wasn't filling enough for him. So note, if you're 220 lbs or so, or if you have a bigger appetite, you might want to order a second sandwich or get the Fowl Fry Combo instead. Sandwiches run about $17 - totally worth it though. A great chicken sandwich awaits you at Fowl + Fare in Alameda!…read more I finally had a chance to try this place! Fowl + Fare operates from a small storefront right next to the Shanvi Indian Grocery store on Santa Clara Ave (near Broadway). This place is either takeout or eat outside on picnic tables. I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

The banh mi here is probably one of the best in Alameda. I'm a little sad that I hadn't tried it sooner, as I am let down by most of the banh mi shops in the area. Great place to try and visit. Love how the banh mi are super thick with tons of meat, veggies, and good amount of pate. The bread is fresh and the portions are generous. Would love to come back here again and try more items and include extra pate per my friend's suggestion. There are only street parking available here. We had no issues finding one close to the spot on a Saturday afternoon.

All other times, they are sooo slow that I walk out. They're concentrating too much on the ambience. Groceries are scant. Mostly seasonings, cheeses, and a very slim selection of meats. If that part is good, we can get to know each other as I come and go. But if I think your place is too inconvenient, I will find a more convenient convenience store. Good luck! For a grocery/cafe, or whatever store this they are going for, all I can say is that it's cute and has decent atmosphere for a coffee shop.
