Haven't been here in like 3 years. I've been wanting to go back ever since then but Im rarely in the Alameda area. I finally found a reason to go and this was the list of places to go. I ordered most of my favorites: Cuban sandwich, yuka fries and tostones. My husband wanted to try their fish with plantain. My toddler just wanted a taco and rice. I loved everything especially the beans. I could not remember the beans from my last visit. I would eat a giant bowl of them. Service was fast and I'm glad the food came promptly. I already want to go back.

Love this place and wish I'd found it sooner. Many positive reviews as well as word of mouth for this chain. I'll be back many times! Fish was cooked Peru and seasoned well. Even the beans were well flavored and cooked. Has the strawberry Fresca also and this meal tasted great when I ate the leftovers later. My first ti having yuca Fritas which were amazing and paired well with this orange colored sauce that had a cilantro flavor. LOVE!!! Place was packed and had a constant line. You order and then sit. Very loud in there and about 10 tables only.

Cholita linda is one of my favorite places to get delicious fish tacos Baja style. Everytime I finish my tacos, I instantly start regretting not ordering more. Their fish tacos are perfectly battered, crispy, covered in a bed of cabbage cilantro, crema, & their salsa. a slice of lime to add a lil Zest & wow, I could eat 5 of them after a good workout day. We usually order rice & beans, yucca frita, and occasionally an agua fresca. This time we ordered a strawberry & lemonade, super yum & perfect amount of tart & sweet. The yucca frita was crispy with savory sauce to pair with it. The rice and beans are simple but also so consistently deliciously cooked. The white rice is the best restaurant rice I ever had, I wish I could make it like This at home lolol. Overall, the food here has always been delicious. We order here frequently for the last few years and will continue to do so. Service is always positive, seamless and straightforward. The alameda location has seating inside, perfect for small groups or solo dining too. Overall great vibe, love this place!

First discovered Cholita Linda about 15 years ago at the Old Oakland Farmer's Market with their popular Baja fish tacos. They have since opened a number of brick-and-mortar locations in Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda and now the Embarcadero - SF First time at the Alameda location with great ambiance and fun, festive decor that transports you away. Place is casual dining and mostly self service: order at the counter and food brought to your table. Station for utensils, napkins and water. The Baja fish tacos are nicely crisp with a slaw and still the draw for me. Also, ordered a beef taco and will skip next time as it was meh... agua frescas are good, not overly sweet and delicious. I'll definitely return for their fish tacos and try their Latin-American inspired sandwiches like the Cubano (pulled pork shoulder), Papito (steak, plantains), Asado (Peruvian-style roast beef) or salads.

Cholita Linda is my go to for fish tacos. There are 3 in the Bay Area locations that I have tried. On Park Street, Telegraph & in Berkeley. I had dinner here and it was very good. The fish was crispy, the platanos were sweet and the black beans and white rice were good. I enjoyed the salad and the meal overall. I usually get the fish tacos, but this time I went for the pescado frito, fried fish plate. I will be back soon and will likely get the fish tacos because those are my favorite! I also like their margaritas when I'm imbibing. Cheers!

I was in the area and felt like getting a drink, so I ordered the strawberry agua fresca. It has increased from what it used to be at Cholita Linda, but compared to drink prices nowadays it's not bad. It took them less than a minute to dispense and hand me the drink. It's acidic in a way that almost reminds me of lemonade, but I like it since it really evokes the flavor of real fresh strawberries and not artificially sweetened strawberry flavor. I would highly recommend their agua fresca.

Along Park street's line of restaurants sits Cholita Linda, a local chain serving Latin food. This was my first visit so I tried a trio of tacos: Baja fish, carnitas, and carne asada. All were delicious but the Baja fish taco was the star of the show with tender but crispy fried fish, flavorful sauce, fresh cabbage, and drizzle of lime. A batch of fresh churros were the cherry on-top to end the meal with some sweetness. Everything was affordable which was a welcome surprise in an expensive Bay Area neighborhood.

Pescado Frito with pinto beans and a side salad. The sweet potatoes to the left were burnt, & the fish too fried for my taste

Highly recommend! I've been here a handful of times and I've tried various items from the menu. In 2020 I kept ordering the Pescado Frito. I couldn't get enough. The papito is well made and probably my favorite item to get from here when I'm feeling very hungry. The caramelized onion, plantain and arugula really complement the steak. Huge fan and I've ordered it several times. I've had the salad, and felt it was small. Still good, but I didn't order again. Not saying I wouldn't - it would really depend on the mood. The pollo cholito is my fave after the sandwich, and probably something I would actually order more than the papito. I ordered this meal through DoorDash weeks ago. Tender, juicy pieces of chicken thighs, beans and rice were delicious as expected, and I always like salad being included. No guilt here with or without the salad though! The yuca fries were also a good addition to this meal. Thick and filling.

Whenever I'm in Alameda, I stop here for the Baja Fish tacos. The ingredients are fresh, the fish is perfectly battered and fried, and the taco is well prepared overall. The service is always very good and the restaurant is clean and bright. You can opt to sit at a bar against the front window, tables inside, or a few small tables on the sidewalk. Parking is usually not too difficult- unless it's a busy weekend. I'll keep going back for sure!

Food was fantastic. I love the design of the restaurant. Only downside was the wait time to receive our food.

    Fish taco soggy

Fish is NOT what you want here. If you THINK you DO - buy one and try it first. Try the chicken too. The chicken tacos are far more flavorful than the fish ones. They are bursting with favor and spicy!!! The fish tacos are loaded with a large chunk of fried fish, however, it's basically 100% flavorless. They need much more salt and flavor and the fish ended up soggy from the sauce on it. I didn't enjoy them much. They actually went to the trash can after eating just one. A total waste of $10. I can't believe people rave about these things. The chicken tacos ate extremely flavorful, wonderful and **spicy. Unfortunately I mainly ordered fish which was depressing and overrated. My husband ordered the pork tacos and said they were amazing. We would return for the chicken and pork tacos for sure. We ordered online and the food was promptly ready for pick-up and came in organized boxes made for tacos.

This was our first time trying out this restaurant and we left very happy and satisfied!! I ordered the Asada plate.

Cholita Linda fish tacos never disappoint. I hope they can still keep them under $5 (in this economy). This location is colorful and vibrant. You place an order then seat yourself. They have self-serve water.

What kind of fish are the fish tacos made of?

    Snapper

Can you buy the sauce to take home?

Not sure what sauce you're referring to but they've given a few 2oz containers of aioli or hot sauce to me before for free. Not sure about large containers of sauce, probably need to ask the staff directly since they are not publicly selling…

    Are there any vegan options?

They do have a tofu taco that is pretty good and if thats something you eat they will make any item on there menu with that instead.

The process is easy, customers order at the window, pay, and wait outside where there are a couple tables to sit at while waiting for their orders. The main problem I found was the time it took to make a couple burritos. There were no customers in front of me and it took nearly thirty minutes to make two burritos. The other thing I noticed is the add ons really raised the price. The guacamole, etc are all extra charges on the the super burrito which in my eye makes no sense. Either it's a super or regular. Not super needing to have a ton of add ons to make it a super. But how was the burrito? Overall I thought the taste was good. Burrito was on the small side. But the ingredients seemed to be solid, and blended together nicely. Decent quality but for the price and wait time, I won't be rushing back.

This is a local business that I stumbled upon one night when I was highly craving tacos. I love how they still have seating despite the weather, rain or shine. If you're pulling up to this place, you're in luck -- because they have the best taco meats in all of Oakland. Whether you go for al pastor, carne asada, carnitas, or lengua-- they are all generously seasoned and rich, with that juicy, well-browned texture that makes each bite memorable. From what I've heard, Oakland locals often praise the quality and depth of the meats, and you can tell they're working with ingredients that stand up to the hype. The corn tortillas hold up beautifully too, as they were charred, warm at the edges. It's laid-back street food at its best--tacos that hit hard on flavor and make you want to come back for another round. Honestly, I would be coming here to enjoy with minimal fuss, cash in hand, and a big appetite.

They have two trucks, but this one had more people at it, so decided to order from this one. I went with 4 tacos (2 pastor, 2 carnitas) and a super burrito and a can of coke. $36 but my card was charged $39, guessing tax, so lesson learned bring cash. The tacos were pretty good. All the meats were on the sweeter side, but much preferred the carnitas over the pastor. I usually order a super burrito , and what I didn't realize was that a super burrito here means a larger burrito. At first I was like , why is it $20 - then when I got it, it was so massive that it could feed a small family or for me it was multiple meals. The burrito itself was tasty, I thought the carne was good, again a little sweet tasting, but the rice beans and sour cream made the burrito simple yet good. I ate half for one meal, then saved the other for later. Overall, it's one of those spots that I'm glad I tried it, and if I was in the area, I'd try it again.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet.
