    Island burger and fries
    Ryan F.

Food was solid - I ordered the island burger and fries. A bit on the pricier side. The ambiance is shared with park station - outdoors, with a chill atmosphere. A great way to hang out with friends - Wednesday is Jazz night! Service was attentive and things were explained well by the staff. Utensils, napkins and condiments were readily available.

Signage. Pick up station at left side of utensil station.

Southie opened recently as a food vendor next to where Park Station has opened. Hours are different than Park Station. Opened l hour later. No decor beyond signage on wall. Neighborhood parking. Iffy at peak hours Lots of seating in the communal area shared with P.S. some tables are reserved for Wood Tavern et al. Orders not taken at entrance. Taken at a keg in front of entrance. Wasn't told earlier. Didn't see menu. Wasn't offered one. Just ordered what I thought was on menu. Offerings: sandwiches, tasty niblets, sides. Turns out what I ordered wasn't on menu, prices changed. Ordered. Text received 10 minutes later saying order was ready. Bites: Ceviche (15) not on menu ceviche tostada was. -puffy baked chips was intersecting. Good for dipping ceviche juices. -many small pieces of unidentified whitefish tasting ok. Better than some, not the uber best. -green onions, red onions, tomato bits, lime juice?, other spices, salt. Air fried popcorn chicken (9) price higher than opening day. -bigger portion than the usual, came with ranch (meh) or garlic aioli (better). Some medium sized pieces, most looked like table scraps. Inner meat too dry. Bigger pieces semi-juicy. Scraps disappointing . -chicken didn't taste of seasonings beyond subtle salt & pepper. 4ish Stars Semi-worthy:YMMV. Quality: inconsistent. Quantity: reasonable maybe repeat if I see menu.

This places feels like a pop up business with okay food. We got the French fries and the popcorn chicken. Both were crispy, but the items felt like they were the last bits at the end of a bag. The popcorn chicken pieces were tiny and didn't feel like there was really much meat in there. This business is off to the side, next to Park Station, a brewery. It seems to share the same outdoor area. There's no sitting inside and they were taking orders at the outside table. When the order is ready, you have to go pick it up. They have a condiment station outside, right next to the building.

Southie is open in Alameda! Located on the same premises as the new Park Station, where Big O Tires used to be, on the corner of Park and San Jose. I've been saying forever that places that serve alcohol really need to serve food as well. Well, Park Station and Southie have come together to provide good brews and good food in one location. Hallelujah! We tried Southie during the soft opening of Park Station, and were not disappointed. Their grilled cheese is delicious. I loved their slaw too, with a touch of jalapeño that gives it a nice kick. The menu is not huge, but the selections are perfectly designed to pair well with a cold one or two. Prices are totally reasonable too. We will be trying out the rest of the menu soon. Happy to have this place in Alameda (they have locations in Oakland too), and they will do well here, especially in partnership with Park Station.

Placed an order, took about 10-15 minutes. Nice patio area next to the brewery. The nachos hit the spot with a brewery drink... eat, drink, eat, drink. Perfect Sunday.

    Grand Opening Menu! 08/22/25

Grand opening day! What a fun spot! In the space of a former tire shop, this outdoor and indoor biergarten of sorts is a great addition to the Park St. landscape, and is like a more upscale version of Birdhaus in Union City. Southie serves up a variety of decently priced sandwiches, sides, tostadas, etc., but it seems like their menu may rotate. The alcoholic area is called "Park Station," but since I am not a drinker, I did not try that. Some of my associates did though, and said it's not bad. The food items I sampled were Rock Cod Ceviche Tostada Salad, Seared Ahi Tuna Salad, and Truffle Fries. No complaints about any of these! There is a massive amount of seating, both indoor and out, and even though adult beverages are served, the little ones (both human and furry) are most definitely welcome. Outdoor dining is on high tables with stools for those warm nights, but there is also a plethora of indoor seating, which is attached to the drinks area. I'll definitely be back for more!

    Small fries for over $7!

Grabbed a beer next door and wanted a snack. I grabbed fried here and was immediately annoyed by the price (over $7). The fries taste like pre-purchased frozen fries, which is fine, but they dont give a lot and they're incredibly expensive for what you get. Will not come back.

    Nice by the fire.

Finally they opened. We have been following the work being done where I used to get tires for a hot minute. Along with Park Station this place is awesome. We have now been there 3 times and all great. So far it's been the grilled cheese and Southie Slaw. So the grilled cheese and slaw is better than I have ever done so I'm just going to give up on those. The fries were also great but I think I still may be able to outdo them there. Next time in we'll try some other items. Latest system of ordering and getting a plastic number tent is way better than waiting around by the door for them to call your name. I get it, still evolving. And as they evole I hope they add some more items as in their Oakland locations. The food great and service is quick. This i just what Alameda needs.

Can't wait to see this place bring in a few more non-pork options. It was all a tad bit salty, but I think that's usually perfect if you are drinking! We ordered the spicy hog, ball slider, popcorn chicken and fries. I was looking forward to their ball slider the most, but was actually most let down by that. I enjoyed that they had all of their yummy sauces available and up for grabs right at the pick up counter and the food was served beautifully. Will continue to try them out as we visit park station!

    Ahi Tuna Sandwich

I had the Ahi Tuna sandwich which was the delicious. The fries were ok. Overall, a great atmosphere and place to grab a quick bite to eat, chill with a group of friends, grab a beer and watch a football game.

I'm forever grateful for that recommendation because they make some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I've tried a few items on the menu, but the one I always recommend is the Hot Italian. Everything about this sandwich is incredible. It's packed with flavor, and you can honestly tell it was made with care. I usually pair it with a bag of chips, and the total comes to around $18. It's absolutely worth every penny and always leaves me full and satisfied. The shop is consistently clean, and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming. I find myself going back over and over again, then telling myself I need to take a break--only to end up back there a few weeks later. That's how good it is. A couple of things to keep in mind before you visit: there's only limited street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a spot. There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. I highly recommend checking this place out!

The deli is a nice size with a couple of benches to sit and wait for your food. You can look at the menu and order, plus grab a drink or chips. They have a nice variety of items to grab that go well with your sandwich. The service was friendly and quick. Workers were all kind, and we love that it's dog-friendly! Regarding the sandwiches, you can get a hot or cold sandwich. You can also build your own! Companion got the Hot Boy, and I went the Build Your Own route. The sandwiches are hefty, with lots of great meats and fillings, and for the price, very decent! I wish my bread were a bit more toasted and crunchier, but that's my preference. It hit the spot, and I'd be open to trying their other sandwiches. I don't often go to delis, but Brothers Deli was a nice place to try. We enjoyed it by the waterfront, which makes it a great picnic option. Find them off Park Blvd., with street and residential parking around.

I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

The fries were decent, but likely just some standard frozen fries. The ranch was also really good, but $.50 each small sized cup. My biggest gripe was the service and the state of the restaurant. In the booth we sat in there was an electrical outlet is hanging out of the wall and the booths are in need of cleaning. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.
