This was a my go-to eyebrow threading spot during the months leading up to my moving out of Woodside, and one of the things I miss most about it. Even after moving out, I went out of my way to come here for a few months until life got busy, because I truly enjoyed the service from Gita. Twin Brows was a refreshing since I haven't had much luck finding a good eyebrow threading salon in Woodside. Plus, I got to connect (which is rare in eyebrow threading) with Gita, the owner, who was so pleasant and always made sure that I walked out happy. The service prices are pretty standard and comparable with other salons, but I do feel like hygiene control is better here than at many of the places that I have gone to. This salon is near the 61st woodside station on the 7 train. I was lured in by the cheap, affordable prices. I tried the eye brow threading ($5) and the eyelash extensions ($20) around the first week of January. I knew I should've said never mind when she told me to keep my eyes open when I was getting the eye lash extension. The eyelash extensions comes in the a couple options, short, medium natural, medium, long natural, and long. I got medium natural and they looks fine, however, it was a painful experience and I don't think I'll be returning here again. The lady doing my eye lash extension told me to keep my eyes open during the process, which Was something I've never heard when it came to eye lash extensions. My eye was really irritated with the glue, it was super red and teared a little. It wasn't until an eyelash with eye lash glue fell into my eye that I got really upset! The lady didn't even clean up the eye lash and eye lash glue in my eye until I asked her to. I left with eye lash glue residue in my eye and my eye has been irritated since. On the other hand, the eye brow threading was really nice. The two stars is for the eye brow threading experience and lash extension experience. I went here because my former salon messed up my eyebrows a little and needed some adjusting. The lady who attended me was really sweet and listened to everything I had to say about my eyebrows. She asked if I wanted to get my upper lips done but she wasn't pushing me to do anything. In the end I got my eyebrows done and upper lips done for a total of $9. I love the way the lady did my eyebrows. She threaded them and then groomed them a bit with small scissors. When I looked at myself in the mirror I was very happy with their size and shape, and especially with how even they were. My eyebrows aren't twins; naturally they look a little different and the woman took note of that and did a great job, evening them out without making them skinny. Hence the name twin brows I suppose! Makes a lot of sense! I was so happy with my new brows that I decided to get a haircut here too. The woman was very nice. I get wary of getting a hair cut in Queens because I'm worried about the language barrier, but my hair stylist spoke perfect English and held up a pleasant conversation. She paid attention to the personality of my hair (it likes to be a little more active in some places and a little flat in others). It was quick and efficient (maybe took like 20 minutes, and I have long hair). And cost $15! You can't beat that. You don't get a wash but that was fine with me. Can't beat the price. They have a customer loyalty card for eyebrows. It's a lot of times that you have to get your eyebrows done, before you get a free one. I'm super picky with my brows, so that says a lot. Last time I came I enjoyed an herbal facial from Gita- it was heavenly! I hesitate to leave bad reviews during Covid because I know small business are struggling. However when I walked in, no one greeted me or even looked at me and one of the parlor ladies was sleeping in her chair. I woke her up. She was not covering her face with a mask. When it came to threading, HER NOSE WAS NOT COVERED at all and she put the thread in her mask. The store was already crowded and to NOT COVER faces on top of that is disrespectful and dangerous. The threading job was decent, not great. The tools like scissors and brush she used were dirty and not cleaned between every customer. I tipped 20% of the total, which was not much since it was only eyebrows. She didn't deserve a tip at all, she cut my eyebrow skin and left hairs but I didn't say anything to her about this bc I wanted to just get out of there given lack of masks. I tipped bc again I felt bad bc businesses are struggling. As I left she was loudly complaining about the tip. My favorite and relatively new brow salon! They really pay attention to details and take care of you! (Both ladies working there are amazing) My brows aren't perfect and definitely aren't twins, but they make the shape very nice and keeps it thick enough. I did the Herbal Facial and it was amazing and left my face dewy and glowing. Highly recommend this place, and I will always come back here. The place is really clean & hygienic. I am always wary of getting any skin treatment done in Queens, fear of the quality of products used. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the organic & branded products the staff used when I did my FACIAL there. The equipment and facial room were so clean and impeccable. Came here to just do my eyebrows because my usual place had a long line so I came to try this place out. I ended up getting sucked into getting a facial because she kept on insisting I needed one and she'll give me 50% off. I was very hesitant about it because the place doesn't generally look like your typical facial salon. But 50% off, why not! And you do you what you paid for... The facial was very fake. She was rubbing my face so hard that the products got inside my eyes, up my nose and into my mouth. There were countless times where her finger stuck inside my mouth and rubbed my teeth. At one point, I felt her dropping some of her "facial" products onto my hair and I just laughed it off and said she dropped some on my head. She then lied and said no, it was dust that dropped on my head. Every time she had to clean my face to use another product, I can feel her wiping quickly and roughly wiping it and leaving a bunch behind. Right when I got home, I washed my face immediately because I felt so much exfoliating sand up my nose, and around my face. Not to mention, when I was still in the store, I probably used 10 tissues to wipe my face. The color that I saw on the tissue was close to a bloody brownish red, coming from everywhere! I even thought I was nose bleeding or bleeding from my eyes! Steer clear from their facials here. Come here for only eyebrows. I don't see or feel any difference in my face. I'm even embarrassed to tell anyone I know that I recently got a facial done because I basically got scammed. read more

I usually meet with a hair specialist twice a month for an overall hair removal. This place has a very clean and well-lit workspace. The lady was professional and did her job well. She was also very clear on the way she handles the transaction. Their prices are one of the best deals with comparison to other salons I've been to here in Woodside, Queens. (I've visited a lot). I come here for my Brazilian waxes and this place is great! The lady who does my waxes is so nice - she always talks to me through the waxing to keep me distracted. The prices are amazing here. Came here on a wednesday afternoon, it was not busy at all. The two ladies were extremely friendly and welcoming. I have groomed my own brows for about 5 years now but needed help shaping them. I came here relying on the reviews . And was surprised that they weren't wrong! I was really happy with my gold facial done by Gita . She recommended me that it would be right for my olive tone skin. She knows what is right for you .I noticed my acne prone dull skin started to glow with radiance. After I came home- my family thought I applied makeup . It left my skin with a golden tone which looks like airbrushed makeup when I now apply makeup on it! Gita successfully cleared my entire skin with such care.
