A great store for all your reptile, fish, insect, and bird supply needs! They have an amazing selection of reptiles in the back of the store, and it's easy to tell that they are all taken care of. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I've been here about 4 times over the year and have never had a negative experience. The space is wide and easy to get through if you have mobility issues. They have free parking next to the building, and the light rail's Raymond Ave Station is within one block.

I've lived in this area for about three months, and have put checking out Twin Cities Reptiles on my to do list. Today was the perfect day for me to do so. Stopped in around 4:00 pm and was surprised by the size of the store. I mean, WOW! Judging from the outside, it didn't look like there would be that much space. When I walked in, I saw a young man working the register but I wasn't greeted or anything. I personally think it's important and mandatory in any retail business to greet your potential customers, briefly mention the "deals" and ask if they are looking for something specific. No big deal, I wasn't shopping anyway... but I possibly could have been with a persuasive gesture like, a greeting I familiarized myself with the store by walking through each isle, reading labels, touching things and all sorts of fun stuff. When I began heading toward the back of the store, that's where all the excitement began! I was hoping to see something cool and boy did I! This is a great place to take the kids to look at some reptiles and maybe pick out a cool book to learn more about whichever they find the most interest in. They have fish, large tortoises, large reptiles that look like baby alligators, turtles, all things lizards, bugs, snakes.. I mean.. it is a reptile store. BUT I had such a great time browsing around, observing. After about 15 minutes of enjoying myself I started feeling bad that they were caged (very conflicting feeling when it comes to caged animals) Overall, I had a great time. I love that you're not pestered by the staff (because I was there for about an hour), the friendliness of the shoppers, and all of the super cool things they have to offer. The fish are SO BEAUTIFUL and SO INEXPENSIVE! So beautiful, that for the first time ever in life I considered purchasing a few fishy's WHEN or IF I ever decide to get a reptile, or a fish I most likely would shop here.

The store smells like poop so I got paranoid when I found a Fly Larvae in my frogs poop because it made me think the Reptile Store gave my frog a parasite

I almost gave this place five stars. If I wasn't such a prude in high standards... This place is amazing. Clean, a pet store with hundreds of animals and no lingering stench of poop and dirty cages. In fact, staff were immaculately cleaning the cages while we browsed through the lizard area. The store opens up to a retail space with normal aquarium and pet items but also cool little things to find if you explore. Chocolate covered ants, scorpion lollipops and other fun animal things that are sure to gross out the kids! Walk a bit further and you're greeted by the house tortoise (30 years old and huge) and the cage-mate Monitor. Both bathing in their sun lamps and behind a glass door for the kids to get a great view. A bit further into the store and the building opens up to a dim-lit space with caves and corners all adorned with lighted aquariums. Snakes, lizards, geckos, frogs, monitors, dragons galore. Giant Centipedes, never-ending tuppawares of rare spiders making webs and foggy tanks full of dart frogs and toads. The kids were bright-eyed and amazed the whole time and staff were continuously patient and helpful. The animals all looked very healthy and well taken care of and though we were not there to buy anything, the prices were average (I always dream of getting a snake for the boys). The floors and cages were clean, the inventory was amazing and the animals seemed to be treated with the up-most care. What more can you ask from an animal store?

I LOVE this place! The staff is wonderful, very knowledgeable and will help you with anything! The owners are amazing, always smiley and fun to talk to! They without question have the largest selection of reptiles in the Twin Cities area. And everything is very fairly priced. I won't go anywhere else now that I've been here! Set up an account with them under your phone number and you get a discount every so often from purchases. I go there alot for feeder rats and crickets.

View looking towards the back - supplies in front of the store, live animals in the back.

Twin Cities Reptiles is excellent -- A+++ I've been a customer for decades...since they were located in Golden Valley...and before that (when I was a little kid) when they were located in Hopkins. They're awesome! Of course, TCR sells "exotics" like reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. They also sell specialty food (or "feeders") like live mice, live rats, meal worms, crickets, and more. They have all manner of cages, tanks, terrariums, and "habitats". They sell main stream pet supplies too! They have food, supplies and accessories for your dog, cat, or small animal. Finally, the staff are incredible. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The owners, Bruce & Sarah are great. I really can't say enough good things about Twin Cities Reptiles. Just go there and check it out! -Daddy Maxx Retro P.S. As a side story... My dad used to take me to Twin Cities Reptiles in the 1970s, when I was in elementary school. They were at the first location in Hopkins. I loved to look at the weird baby turtles like the Mata Matas and the Yellow Headed Amazon Sidenecks (now on the endangered species list). My dad used to work at the North Central Airlines and he'd frequently bring home animals when he came across a broken crate and animals running around loose in the baggage area! He'd bring home mice, rats, hermit crabs, hamsters, etc. One time he brought me about 10 hamsters. After a few months, I had only one really BIG male hamster! I thought they were escaping somehow. My dad brought me to Twin Cities Reptiles. Bruce explained to me, "Didn't you know that male hamsters are cannibalistic?" Yuck - NO, I didn't know that! This was in the days before the internet. I had to go to the library or talk to guys like Bruce. Thanks for many great years in business and many memories, Bruce!

Look at this tegu's cute face. Don't you want to just take him home? I know I do!

The place has everything for reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods that the chain stores do not.

My son loves to just come and look at the animals. Great place for reptile enthusiasts and good for other pet owners as well.

They care about the animals in their store and remember who they go to (I get asked how my corn snake is every time I stop in!).
