NEVER NEVER use this one!!! Extremely bad experience from a Chambana user!! We wasted 5 hours waiting for them, but they ended up with doing nothing. OK, here are some details about our experience: we made an appointment at 10am to move to our new apartment, but they did not show up even at 10:30am. We called the workers, and they said they could not make it in the morning, what the hell??! Alright, we had no choice at that time and agreed to have them come to move at 1:00pm. Then guess what.... they kept delaying from 1pm to 1:30pm, and then 1:30pm to 2pm, and finally arrived at our apartment at 2:40pm! They arrived ~5 hours late, but even more disgusting things were gonna happening: they arrogantly said it is our mis-communication that caused the issue. Then arrogantly, they refused to move because we do not have a truck---but they NEVER informed us beforehand (we called them so many times but they never mentioned that) and we have three available vehicles for them to use! They reluctantly went upstairs to see our stuff, and immediately turned around after seeing our boxes and complained there are too many, leaving words saying "good luck with finding someone else".... WTF! We finally ended up with asking for help from three friends and finished moving all the boxes within one hour. The experience with them really sucks! Waited ~5 hours but they did nothing! After booking them, two guys showed up over half an hour late, in a sedan. They had no truck. They expected to use mine, which we did. While one of them was talking to me, the other snooped around my apartment. After the service was completed, I asked if a check was okay. They said they wanted to be paid in cash. So we had to drive to a nearby Walgreens to go to an ATM. Then after I paid them, I asked for some sort of receipt. Especially since I had to pay in cash. They told me to call their manager, George. I called and left a voicemail asking for a receipt. I never heard back. When I returned home, I noticed they left a moving blanket. On it said "Two Men and a Truck". I couldn't imagine how a moving company could mess up more. read more

We bought a fridge through Craigslist and needed a mover to pick it up, move it to the basement of our new house and then move the old fridge out of the basement. Short: Excellent, affordable service. Most important of all, George is friendly and very professional. I will be using them again when I move out of state in two years. George, the owner of the company, quoted me a very reasonable price for moving several pieces of furniture and two dozen boxes from a 2nd floor apartment to a first floor unit. The estimated time was 2 hours of work for two guys. On the day of the move, he arrived early and got to work right away. It was supposed to be two guys, but the other person had an emergency and couldn't show up so it ended up taking 3 hours, but he only charged me for the 2 hours we'd agreed upon. He moved everything himself and was very professional about it. All of my furniture are either from Craigslist or furniture re-stores and nothing is over 50 bucks, but he was extra careful with each piece and took his time to get them out the door without any damage. I would definitely trust him to take care of more expensive furniture. He made the move seem much less stressful compared to what I'd envisioned. The company has a labor division (smaller jobs and you supply the truck and equipment) and a moving division (out of town moves, comes with truck, dollies, etc). My UIUC contract ends in two years and I'm planning to use this company again to help me move to California. read more

I chose this company based on the rating. Simply the worst. One person was really good and professional and did all the work , but the other two ( driver and the first time helper ) were slow, not careful and really did not know the first thing about moving. They did not use any protective gear, would drag heavy furniture without any protection on the new wooden floor, carry literally one small piece at a time or try to "ride" 5 heavy book boxes at once over the stairs. Firstly they willingly moved us on a Sunday when a lot of companies don't give you that luxury. George is super responsive and answered all the questions I had prior to booking. Were very careful with our stuff both in the old place and the new. No damage to our walls or furniture. They disassembled our furniture and reassembled it with expertise. I hired this company for a move at the end of March. GEORGE and his partner were excellent movers (and I have a lot of very heavy things like books). They worked tirelessly and completed the job within one day. When George realized that he didn't have a specific tool to move one item that I had, he arranged to come back on the second day (without charge) and took care of that final item. George worked with my on every level from the rate quote (which was very fair). I was called 1 day in advance and on the day of the move. They ran into a time issue with the clients before us and did arrive a bit late but no matter, when moving you need to be somewhat flexible. Absolutely no surprises. They got everything loaded in so tightly and professionally I am still in awe days after getting things unloaded in Kansas City. Let me make the conclusion first: be very cautious on choosing this moving company. I use 'cautious', not 'never', because the workers that were assigned to our moving are not anyone on the yelp photo gallery, and the reviews for those people are really good, so I cannot say that the issues we experienced are common with this company. 1. I'm suspicious on their SENSES OF RESPONSIBILITY. They were not at our old apartment after 40 minutes of the scheduled time, so I called them to learn that they just completed their previous work and was hoping to have time to grab some food for lunch, and that was around 10:40am. I told them not to hurry, and go and get some food first. They thanked and told me they'd be back at 1pm. But they still did not show up even after 1pm. When I called again, they told me they thought they'd come at 2pm, and they "will grab some food real quickly before coming". I really don't know what they experienced from 10:40am to 1pm. Were they mind wandering in front of a restaurant or any cafe during these 2 hours???!!! And I must mention that their final show up time is 2:40pm, and that's 5 minutes before they leave our apartment without giving any reasonable reason. 2. I'm suspicious on their ability to find the correct address. They were informed of the address several times throughout the process, and they promised that they actually live nearby and know exactly which street to go to. However, they spent over an hour to wander around Urbana, trying to find the correct street. I hope that this is not because of their own ability, but the ability of their navigation tool (if they have one). 3. Whether they told you or not, MAKE SURE TO RENT A TRUCK, even when the apartment buildings you are moving in and out are literally next to each other. We contacted Allthingsmoving twice before the moving date, and more than 4 times on the actual moving date, they DID NOT mention anything about rent a truck. In fact, on the morning of the moving date, the person contacted us actually called himself the 'truck person'. They literally mentioned me needing to rent a truck for the first time when we first met, and that was 4 hours and 40 minutes after the originally scheduled moving time. They briefly apologized that "we're sorry for mis-communicating", followed by "good luck on finding someone else". 4. We finally made the moving by ourselves, without a truck, without any unreasonable delays, and without any complaints on the number of boxes, within 2 hours (a time length they say is the minimum of the service), and with a lesson of not trusting anyone who has no respect to time, to their words with consumers, and to the kindness they receive. read more

Who likes to move? Not us, really, but after 33 years in our wonderful home it was time to downsize and move. All Things Moving was the perfect choice for us. hired them move bedroom sets we bought from an estate sale. chris and brian were very patient, courteous and professional. they return phone calls and show up on time. their rates are reasonable. They dont have their own truck so you have to reserve a u haul for them. after reserving just tell them where and when to pickup the truck and they will take care of the rest. Well, where do I start? First of all, I thought I reviewed this company back in August when we used them, but for some reason my review didn't post? Not sure why, but I forgot all about it until recently when looking for a different mover in the Champaign area and saw All Things Moving still had five stars for 16 reviews. I thought this was very interesting, especially after our experience with them. I did see Sergei had a bad experience, giving them a 1 star, but all the others are 5 star reviews?? Hmm. Makes me wonder if those reviewers are actually real customers. Anyway, the owner, George, was very nice and fairly easy to contact. I explained to him we would have a uhaul, since we were moving our daughter from Indy, and just needed some muscle to unload the heavy furniture items. We would do the rest. He shot us a price of $130 for two guys and a two hour minimum. That was very reasonable, so we took it. Moving day: On my way to Champaign from Indy I was running a little bit behind, so I tried calling George to tell him I would be about 15 minutes late. It went to voicemail. I thought that was strange, but figured he would call me right back. Didn't happen. I made it to Champaign and was parked and standing on the sidewalk outside the apartment house and no movers. Then my phone rings. It is a subject explaining he worked for All Things Moving and that George was at his regular job and was unable to take my call at the time, but did get my voicemail. He said George called him and told him to call me. This guy, who was very reassuring that they would be there shortly, was courteous and as I was talking to him an older model S-10 blazer, or other model suv, pulled up and parked. Two guys get out and the driver walks up and says he is from All Things Moving. No identifiers, no shirt that has the business name, nothing. Hmm. I tell him i am on the phone talking with All Things Moving and they are on their way. The guy asks me who I am talking to and I tell him (Sorry, I can only recall George's name at this point in time). The guy says "Let me talk to him", so I hand him my phone. He tells the caller they are there and will take care of it. He hangs up. So, these guys begin moving items of furniture into this 100+ year old house. Everything seems to be going ok until we get to the sectional. Now, this may not be a real leather sectional, but it was certainly not cheap by any means and brand new. My wife and i were led to believe that the movers would use moving blankets and plastic wrap to protect the couch, but when I asked the guys about that they said they didn't have any of that with them. Hmm. I should have ended the whole thing right there, but I didn't. The one guy, who seemed to be the leader, insured me they would get the sectional inside with no problems. Did I mention this was a 100+ year old house? He and his partner needed my assistance in SQUEEZING aka; FORCING that sectional through the inside door due to the large attached cushions AND no pads, or wrap. The sectional was slightly damaged on some edges, but we got it inside. The leader really seemed to be in a big hurry the whole time and after the couch was inside he thought that was it. He told us the charge was the agreed upon $130.00. He said it was CASH ONLY. Now, this part was not explained to us and perhaps we should have asked, but most reputable businesses take either a check, or credit card. The leader told us they don't take credit cards, debit cards, checks, just CASH ONLY. So, being from out of town, my wife heads out on a journey to get CASH. Fortunately, we found our bank had a branch in town. Now,I had originally told them we would take care of a couch at my son's apartment, but when they finished in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, I told them we might as well go to my son's apartment where they could at least carry it down the stairs and load it into the uhaul. Well, the leader did not give me the impression he was very happy about this. He told me he did not think they had time because they had to be at another job, or something. I reminded him I was paying for two hours and we still had 45 minutes to go. He then told me he wasn't sure his vehicle would make it to the apartment, which was only about 10 minutes away, but he and the other guy, who was not very talkative, but polite, reluctantly got into their suv and headed to my son's appt. After they got the couchinto the uhaul the leader asked where my wife was and that he needed to get to that other job. I told him she was on her way. They sat in their vehicle for about 5 minutes when my wife arrived with the cash and off they went. Sorry, for the LONG review, but needless to say, based on our experience with All Things Moving, at least the two employees we had contact with, I WOULD NOT recommend All Things Moving. You get what you pay for, I know. That is why we went with 2 Men and a Truck on our most recent move. read more

Set everything up with George and told me it was going to be $110/hr plus $40 for fuel. I needed to have things moved approximately 3 miles. When the movers showed up they wanted me to sign paperwork and apparently there is a 3hr minimum which was not disclosed when given a quote. The move would have taken maybe 45 minutes as I have moved my things before with the help of a friend. One of the movers called George to try and settle the minimum hour dispute and he said at least two hours, which again, no minimum was ever quoted or talked about. I apologized to the men that came for wasting their time. I recommend using a professional moving company that knows how to work out a deal and can follow through with said deal. Side note: George has yet reach out to resolve this issue, poor customer service! read more

One of the poorest service experience I have had. I was moving from one apartment building to the next one in the same apartment complex. They were supposed to arrive at 2 PM, however after multiple messages giving different excuses, the two guys arrived at 3 PM. One of the guys said "there's no fucking way I move the furniture across the lawn". He charged me $60 extra for a U-Haul truck, and repeatedly told me for the next hour and 15 minutes that he was getting me a $20 discount on the truck. He said if you can't pay for the U-Haul truck, I will leave right now and you can Google any other movers. He also repeatedly kept on saying "this job is bigger than what I had thought". They were both in a hurry to leave. They tried for a few minutes to disassemble my bed and gave up. I had to call and pay someone to disassemble the bed. They refused to wait despite charging for two hours minimum. read more
