My wife and I lived here for 9 years before finally purchasing our first house. We selected this complex out of many in the Capitol District because they allowed "large" dogs. For us, that meant our Golden Retriever could come with us. Not many seem to allow them, but parent company Solomon Organization has many units that do. Our rent was reasonable at the time, and still was when we moved out. We had a 1-bedroom with den. They usually tried to raise our rent by a little every year but my wife successfully negotiated down or entirely canceled the amount of the increase. We noticed that their property manager seemed to change every couple of years. This was somewhat frustrating as we would try to build a relationship with them and instead we frequently had to re-explain things. This was especially problematic because they insist on a 60-day notice for renewals but sometimes wouldn't get you the renewal paperwork until there were only 30 days left on your lease. They once lost our paperwork (thank goodness I had a spare copy to show we signed it) and that led to a weird situation where our lease was extended to mid-month. They usually were prompt about maintenance issues, but not always. Some items had to be requested over and over because the fixes were never very good (flaking drywall on corners, etc.) They offered to repaint our unit at least once but we would have to empty it first... how does someone do that? They also offered to redo our outdated kitchen and replace our carpets but again we couldn't live there when they did that. Huh? We had good neighbors on one side and bad neighbors on the other. Management did nothing to stop the kid screaming and running after midnight above us or the tiny barking dogs next to us. People stay there a while, so hopefully your neighbors will be nice. The facilities (pond, pool, rec. facility) are okay but not great. We stopped using the rec. facility because it was small, and the pool is frequently filled with kids so we didn't go often (I guess that isn't the fault of the complex though). The ponds were lovely for taking walks. WARNING: you cannot break your lease under any conditions. You can get someone to assume the remainder of your lease but they then need to agree to renew for an additional year. This is very problematic if you are looking to buy a home. We frequently had to decide to either renew our lease for one year OR continue looking for homes. As a result, we ended up paying rent on an apartment for three months after we closed on our home. They will not budge on this issue. If that weren't the case I would have given them 4 stars. Overall, we liked it there and only moved because we wanted a home. I would recommend this place as a great place to live, but be proactive regarding your paperwork and maintenance concerns. read more

FINAL UPDATE: they illegally rescinded my lease renewal. In the state of NY it is illegal to not resign a lease if a tenant has made a complaint about health and habitability conditions within a year of lease renewal. They did just that. I am now in the process of suing them. Additionally Donald the property manager is exceedingly unprofessional claiming me complaining about issues was me in mental health crisis and stated to me out loud when I handed over the keys "I hope you get the help you deserve". Donald, I hope very nasty things for you. Termites also appeared in my second unit that I was moved into. Cracks in walls.. my electricity bills were about $500 for Jan and February. DO NOT RENT AT TWIN LAKES OR ANOTHER SOLOMON GROUP COMPLEX. THIRD UPDATE 6/10/25 - IVE BEEN HERE FOR TWO MONTHS AND AM NOW WITHOLDING MY RENT PAYMENTS. THERE IS MOLD EVERYWHERE. Nothing has been addressed. My water heater has now busted and flooded my kitchen and downstairs neighbor. The water heater is dated from 2008. If they had done a proper inspection ONE TIME in my apartment none of my issues would have come up. STILL DO NOT MOVE HERE. OUTSIDE VENDORS WERE GIVEN PERMISSION BY MGMT TO ENTER MY APARTMENT WITH 0 NOTICE. I WAS NOT DECENT AND HAD TO PUSH THE DOOR CLOSED. I SCREAMED DO NOT COME IN. THE MAN YELLED HE DID NOT CARE HE WAS COMING IN AND IM A CRAZY BI***. DO NOT MOVE HERE. You all need to rehome Shane. Awful employee. The experience I had looking at apartments vs my experience moving into an apartment has been so deceiving. This place is awful. I am here less than a month and so many things have wrong. I didn't have a deadbolt on my door, it took maintenance over two weeks to get my kitchen drawer to me and finish the first initial maintenance request they dated at complete 4/2... no. It took two weeks. The vent in my bathroom was broken, I am still missing trim around my apartment, the apartment REEKED of cigarettes after the weed smell dissipated from the cleaners who DID NOT CLEAN at all. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. The bathroom was an absolutely a biohazard (human waste on side of cabinet and floor) and now my bathroom sink leaked and everything under there, pack of toilet paper, all hair tools... RUINED. this is not a good place to live. they have scammed many people in the past 5 months. claiming they want to put in their own WiFi and routers to the apartments. while expecting you to create the appointment yourself and charging you $70 a month for cable although no body has even come into the apartment to install them. for the past 3 months they tried to charge me $70 extra a month for cable even though I was still paying for my own router setup. I didn't pay that extra $70 because it simply wasn't set up. because of this they have suspended my account now that it is fully installed and I'm left with no WiFi. They have run a scam on a lot of their tenants. the spectrum man said it himself that many people said fuck it and just paid that extra $70 a month even though they never actually received what they've been forced to pay for. I will be getting a lawyer involved. ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES. We have been without heat for two weeks. We do not know how long it will be before we get heat. it is the middle of winter. the office suggested we use our baseboard heating as a backup. When we tried to turn them on it didn't work.They have not even visited to investigate why and that was a full week ago. Leaving us without adequate heating appears to violate New York State law. read more

This place will 1) Let you go without a safe oven for 3 months 2) Let you go without a functioning dishwasher for at least 5 months 3) Let you go without proper HEAT in winter for (at least/so far) one week. Its 24 degrees outside, and we haven't had central heat since Tuesday. Everyday they claim they are sending an HVAC team over and then they don't. And they won't prorate you for any of it either. I'm coming to the end of my two year years living here. I am not renewing as the direct result of being ignored by the property manager for over a month. My initial request for information was met by a lovely lady in the office , Kelsey , who responded that I could either pay $500 to change apartments or vacate the property. My further emails to the property manager went ignored for over a month. Property owners responded to a google review that I would be contacted, but was ignored another two weeks. I think the general consensus of the property owners is that tenants are stuck here,it takes resources to move. I'm fortunate enough that I am able to, I pity the tenants here who are truly stuck, being ignored by incompetent management. They are left with icy walkways and dead squirrels in apartments and storage areas Edit to respond to owner: I'd be more than happy to stop by today with my phone records, showing one call from your office made two days ago after I submitted my written notice to not renew. In fact I was in the office yesterday, March 13 2025 to pick up the notice to vacate paperwork because I was informed my email notice to vacate was not sufficient. Here's edit # 2 , just got back from the office and gave in my notice to vacate to ebony. I asked to speak with someone and was told I'd have to wait behind the other two (one in office and one in waiting room) to make a complaints, she said nobody seems happy today. I can not say enough about this property and the property manager, Liz. She is AMAZING! I have lived at this apartment complex for almost 4 years, and I must say, I was sad to go. It's not very often you live somewhere where the staff care about you and are friendly and efficient. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING, I ever needed, they were there for me and very prompt. They got things done and fast. There is no procrastination in their vocabulary. From the staff at the leasing office to the maintenance manager Mike and his staff. Everyone makes you feel right at home. Its a gorgeous property laid out on 70 acres, its safe, its clean and it was home!! I highly recommend Twin Lakes Clifton Park to anyone. read more

I would stay very far away from this place or any place that Solomon manages. They honestly don't deserve 1star. My very good friend currently lives here and is looking to get out ASAP. Solomon is not a good company and their places are very poorly maintained. I also used to live there and can say that all we had were problems. Mold in the walls, squirrels in the ceilings. Lots of leaks from the ceilings. The Ac units are outdated, not maintained and work occasionally. They took dumpsters away so the few that are around are overfilled with garbage on the ground by the end of the week. Oh and did I mention the maintenance team is basically non existent and when you do call the office for anything, Liz is excellent at telling you what you want to hear to shut you up. The passed three years this place has really taken a turn for the worst, graffiti on dumpsters and light posts, the road conditions are horrible, and the cops are always around. Any complaints minor or major, are completely ignored. I suggest if you have kids or even any standards at all, that you seriously consider living in a cleaner, friendlier and completely different community. I feel that the people that run this place just don't give a shit about anything but collecting $$. Maintenance is an ongoing issue as there are not enough employees. I have requested trees be trimmed multiple times but large, dangerous branches continue to fall and damage cars, etc. At move in over a year ago I notified them there are plants growing in our gutters-this has not been addressed. The property as a whole is neglected. The apartments themselves are okay, but need updated badly. They are larger than typical which I appreciate. The cost is comparable for market units in the area. I've been living here almost a year they do not care about the safety of the people who live here and I do not feel safe. My Car has been broken into twice. The first time it was broken into I complained about the parking or lack there of preventing me from parking in a vicinity close to my apartment. They do not enforce the "2-car" per household limit, as a result, I have to park at other buildings. I also requested a garage and was told that a property manager will contact me. No one ever contacted me. My car was broken into a second time and this time they went through my glove compartment and took information such as my address and my work ID, so. Now they know what I look like and where I live. When the officer came, he stated that he was shocked there are no cameras up yet given the amount of calls and break-ins they respond to at this apartment complex alone. I continuously called the front office for hours that day and nobody answered the phone or called me back. When I did receive a call, it wasn't about my vehicle or the garage I requested months ago. We absolutely love it here! The area we are in is always well maintained. The pool is so nice in the summer and the gym is such a convenience being right on the property. Our neighbors are awesome and will be lifelong friends. Management and the office staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy and maintenance requests are taken care of as soon as possible. Andrew in maintenance will go above and beyond to make sure your problem is taken care of. He's always so friendly and willing to help! You never hear him complain. They tried to remedy the situation by letting me leave early (yes I terminated my lease early). That still didn't help. I got screwed on my security deposit (which I totally agreed with the cleaning charges). But additional rent because of the keys not being turned in, they stated they tried to reach me, but finally, after a week they contacted me through email although all our correspondence was like that. Let's even state the living conditions. I had twins that were 7-10 months old at the time. The neighbors would loud as fuck, the leaf guys came around at 8 am, I rarely heard from maintenance after my washer didn't work for almost 2 weeks. The apartment was "furnished" my ass. Bills were included (they forgot to pay my wifi bill). There is a reason why this place has 2 stars. Let's also say I paid $3k per month for this all-inclusive package. For which wasn't set up, minimal furniture (I had to buy more), and to never sleep the whole time I was there. Let's also say I lost my $1,800 security deposit because of this. I lived here for about 2 years (2021-2023) I can tell you, I have nothing good to say about this place. If you think you've heard bad things... times it by a million, and if you think it's bad, make it worse. I had squirrels living in my walls, floors and the ceilings. I'm not even joking. It was terrible. And they do nothing about it. The squirrels destroyed all of my belongings in the outdoor closet. I had black mold in my kitchen floor and the floor was literally rotting away to the point where I was concerned about my safety and it being a hazard. I put in a request 3 times for someone to come look and no one ever did or cared to address this issue. I moved in missing my fire detectors ( isn't that illegal???) they also had vent/ filter checks and fire detector tests that were mandatory when I moved in back in 2021 and no one ever replaced my filter and they never brought new fire detectors to my apartment. So I bought my own. Cool no problem. Not my responsibility but I'll pay for it so I feel safe... the walls are thin and there are a lot of questionable people living here. Cops are always driving around and at different buildings. Kids throw things at animals and I've head things about people seeing them kicking cats and throwing rocks at them. Absolutely terrible. Maintenance is slow and rarely make repairs to broken appliances. I had a broken fridge and freezer for weeks which I put multiple requests in telling them it needed to be replaced and they kept telling me it was fine or that I needed to reorganize it, yet I would come home to all of my freezer food warm and defrosted????? They didn't replace it till the 5th maintenance request which I put in as an emergency since I was losing another $200 in food that I had just bought 2 days after I had to throw everything away from the last time it stopped working. They sent someone to my apartment at 2am 6 hours after I put the emergency request in! Who thought that was okay? Not sure. The main office is rude and they don't care. They charged us and astronomical about of fees when we moved out and proceeded to charge me for a "carpet cleaning fee " after I cleaned the carpet with my own carpet cleaner because I didn't pay someone to do it for me. Absolutely ridiculous. I do not recommend living here I have a million more things I could say about this place but stay away!!!! Solomon is the worst leasing company ever. My boyfriend lived in London square, blue spruce for a year and had an awful experience there as well. Rent at your own risk, there are better places in the area!!!!! read more

UPDATED 4/24/21 Maintenance is near impossible to get ahold of or to fix anything. We made an emergency call they never responded too. They have "call 911" up on their website. We are supposed to have central air, but our air conditioner had been broken more months than not for the year we have been here. They tell us now they need three nights in a row of 70 degrees, which is not a thing... We have had mold in the walls, can smell it. Had two leaks with water stains. They gutted our downstairs neighbors ceiling and walls to take out mold but told us outright we have none. They fixed the leak on the outside but refused to test for mold. You can see the black mold on the toilets and they claim it's just mildew, and the owner told me over the phone "mildew in toilets is normal." It's not. Expect mildew in your toilets at this location. Then a month or two into covid they threatened to evict us for being 14 days late on rent, during the rent moratorium where that was illegal!! A week after we moved in I asked them to fix a part for the blinds in our window that was broken when we moved in, and was told if they didn't have the part they would charge us for it!! Their blinds, I don't keep them! They nickel and dime everything, have very little compassion, and don't care about their residents suffering due to heat or mold. Same thing I noticed with Solomon brothers in Poughkeepsie NY. We are leaving when our lease is up, very disappointed. To put credit where it is due, I do need to amend this at least partly. To my surprise Twin Lakes DID call about two hours after I posted this complaint. They did send someone to fix our AC which we are very happy about! However the mold issue remains unchanged, with the added explanation that only companies they approve can come in to do a mold test and if they don't find mold we the tenants are liable to pay up to a $1800 fee. Since their people have claimed repeatedly, albeit hesitantly, that despite visual evidence we have no mold, I have no reason to trust any other people they bring in. My family found a company that will test for free, pretty sure no catch like that, charges only if they FIND mold and take care of it. That is all Twin Lakes will offer us on the matter. I told the manager that is just not a practical or workable solution for us. As is, until the structure itself becomes so damaged you have to address structural integrity what reason do you have to remove mold? read more

My diabetic 79 year old mother has been told her lease is going up $80.00 a month for no particular reason. Her washing machine is not working and she was told it won't get fixed till other issues are dealt with first. It is over two weeks. Giving one star because I can't not give one. I have been living here for 3 years already, and its been 2 years since I've been complaining about mold, but they don't do anything about it. Because I insisted so much, a few days ago I saw an employee from the Twin Lakes office near my apartment, and I almost begged him to come and take a look at the situation. Finally, he listened to me and took out the piece of ceiling that had mold on it, then I thought the problem was solved. Until it started raining. Now, my problem is bigger because it is raining INSIDE my house. It's been three weeks since it started happening. I have to use cloths and buckets to stop the water from soaking my furniture. Will I have to wait 2 more years for them to come and fix it? I read another comment on here saying that, they had squirrels inside their walls and that they could hear them walking, running and even eating. We have the same problem. If you're thinking about moving here, don't. No maintenance, and their staff don't care about anything you say, and they don't do anything about it either. read more

I moved into Twin Lakes apts on 6/1 as I waited for my townhome to be completed. Haley found me a 1st floor Executive apt facing the ponds- great view and she was a pleasure to deal with.I also asked to have my garage changed from a key to a remote control. When I pd my rent- including garage- I was charged for 2 garages. I called and went to the office and it was immediately dealt with by Jamie. Whenever I had a question or needed maintenance I would call the office- ask for Jamie and get anything I needed done. Today I did a walk through for my move out with Tara. It was so easy as we went room by room and then checked out the garage. I had a last minute change in an appt and she came early to accommodate my needs. In the past, I've dealt with large complexes and interacting with property management has been challenging. Helleny did an amazing job. She was personable, applied common sense, interactive and treated us as people as opposed to a 'renter'. I give the place 4 stars strictly because of the experience we had with Helleny. Having solid folks to work with is key and I hope over time, the same level of professionalism is something others experience as I did. As for the site, again, it's what you expect going into it. Do not move here! I moved in 6 months ago and my apartment was not cleaned let alone painted!! Then I had squirrels destroying my containers in my storage unit. I finally had to tell them that my neighbors feed the wildlife! On Sunday 6/5/22 I put in a maintenance request because I found worm like bugs all over the top of the dryer in my unit. I suffer from a fear of bugs and, as of Tuesday evening, I'm still dealing with the bugs! The pest guy only comes on Tuesday, which today is, and God forbid they put in an early request for the pest guy to come earlier! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!! read more

This place is a POS. Amongst everything that is wrong with this place, my biggest issue are the fees that the Solomon Organization will randomly give you. They are crooked. Imagine charging someone $1,200+ (not including amenities) just to live in a one bedroom, one bath. They are pathetic. Upon move out, they do not give back the security deposit, and instead place even more charges in order to fork everything they can out of you. A classic case of judging a book by its cover. Twin Lakes burned me good when I lost my job and was forced to take a job in another state. I would never lease there again.

If you have no other suitable options, this place will do but, I don't recommend ANY of the Solomon Organization properties. We have lived at Twin Lakes for more than a year, as we moved to New York with limited knowledge of the area and few suitable options, since we have kids and pets and aren't rolling in the dough. The Solomon Organization properties are not maintained well, or at all really. The office staff is pleasant enough but, most of them are just there to make a paycheck and don't care about your family or your living conditions. They rotate employees around the different properties so if you're lucky enough to deal with someone who raises the bar, they'll likely be gone in a few months, unfortunately. Maintenance is a joke, at best. If you get them to actually show up, they only do the bare minimum to fix the job and don't care how it looks or effects your life. The cheapest materials are always used, even if they don't match or do an efficient job. The new maintenance supervisor has made great improvements but, he is still only one person and without adequate staff, basically has his hands tied. Snow removal is done as nonchalantly as possible and they make no effort to do even a decent job clearing sidewalks and parking lots. They do, however, spend a great deal of time driving around with their plows up. There used to be one exceptional maintenance guy, Steve, who doesn't seem to be around anymore but, now we seem to be left only with inexperienced, uncaring unprofessional men who reek of cigarettes, despite coming into peoples homes, around their children. The pool is pretty nice, although there are only two lifeguards who actually do their jobs (one who is positively exceptional!) and the pool is open only for a very short time during the season, closing long before it cools off for the year. There is nowhere for children to play and no playground equipment to speak of, which is unfortunate since so many children live in Twin Lakes. The lady in billing is very kind and is willing to work with your family situation as best she can but, the office staff is told to tell you that you're SOL if you inquire about needing assistance so you'll have to know to go to her directly. There is zero insulation in these units and no carpet padding so heating bills are astronomical, despite living in very cold conditions and if you stay at home, you'll likely be doing great damage to your body by walking on concrete all day. I highly recommend area rugs in all rooms to help with this. Sitterly Road is VERY dangerous and known for it's car accidents as there is not adequate signage, lighting or safety precautions so beware of traffic when entering and exiting the properties. The properties are very expensive, given what little they have to offer. I would NOT recommend a Solomon Organization property (Twin Lakes, Squire Park, Fox Run, etc.) to anyone! read more

I had to really think about this rating before actually clicking it. I lived at Twin Lakes for a total of 19 months - meaning I did terminate my lease early. First off - this is my first and only apartment ever. Side note: The termination of my lease was due to purchasing a house. So first off - the woman who setup my leasing agreement in 2016 was named Juliana. She is no longer with the company but she was was extremely helpful. She gave great advice that I am appreciative of. 1. Get EVERYTHING in writing AND have it documented. Even if someone in the office promises you something - it means nothing if you don't have it in writing. The turn over rate at the office is HIGH. So if someone tells you "it is okay to end your lease early"... it really isn't. So make sure you have that person write it down and sign/date it. This is the only reason I was able to terminate my lease. One office representative said it was OK but others said NO. So get it all in writing. 2. Take photos when you move in. I took plenty of photos and because of that - I was able to get my deposit back. But I have never heard of any one else ever getting a deposit back from TL. But they couldn't argue over visual proof. 3. I had two locks on my apartment door and was never given a key to the dead bolt (top lock). One night after maintenance had visited the unit to clean the rugs - I realized that they did have a key to that dead bolt and they had locked me out of my apartment. Of course - it had to be during a snow storm and it was after office hours. We had to call a locksmith and pay $100 for the locksmith to break into my apartment. TL did take $100 off my rent but never repaid me for my time spent outside in the cold at 8-10 PM at night. Always ask for ALL keys to the apartment - even if they say "there is no key".. 4. I never got used to living so close to neighbors. Maybe that is because this was my only apartment experience but the people who lived at TL really like to be in other's business. And because of that, I never used the pool or the gym. Walking my dogs around the complex was enough 'socializing' for me. 5. We were there during the renovation from the old brick look to the new yellow/green siding remodel. During that transition we had a gas leak. Someone had stapled the gas line going into our apartment. We never got an apology or anything. Maintenance did fix it right away. 6. Now for the worst thing that happened. The woman downstairs was a heavy smoker. Luckily we never smelt it unless she had opened her door. Then the whole stairwell reeked. But the smell never came up into our apartment. When that resident moved out - TL had to "clean" the apartment to remove the cigarette smell. Well they used some strong "paint" to cover the walls. The smell was toxic. It was unbearable. It completely took over our apartment. The month was November and we had all the windows wide open in 30-40 degree weather, trying to air out the unit but the smell wouldn't leave. TL tried putting us up in a furnished apartment but I had fish and turtles that I felt guilty about leaving in that environment. TL did apologize for that and told us they had to clean the below apartment ASAP due to a new resident moving in.. This was the same month we were ending our lease. We had our apartment until December 1st (paid in full) but we ended up moving out the first week of November due to this sickening smell. Not once was I ever reimbursed for any of the inconveniences TL caused other than the $100 locksmith fee. I even was once charged a $50 late fee even though my rent was always paid in full prior to the first of the month. I was refunded the $50 but I did have to threaten the office for it. To be fair, I looked at several apartments prior to signing my lease at TL. Twin Lakes was more expensive monthly but it was the nicest apartments (from the inside) that we had looked at. The location was perfect for CP living. And the actual complex itself is very appealing (when you are left alone and nothing is going wrong). It reminds a lot of people of a camping ground due to all the trees and ponds. But if my siblings or close friends were to ask me if TL is a good place to live - I would say to look elsewhere. Even though 99% of the maintenance crew is helpful and kind, the rent can be paid on an easy to use app, and the apartment itself is modern and for the most part well maintained. I would still say to look elsewhere because the negative experiences I dealt with outweigh the positives. And most of the issues came from how the office manager and representatives treat the tenants. Oh and the rent will show up on your credit score - which was shocking to me because no one had made that clear to me prior. I have lived in twin lakes for a lil bit now. The neighbors are assholes about everything, they even activated my PTSD and can't do anything about it. They have dogs here that don't get along with other dogs even outside. My dog doesn't like other dogs but he's well behaved with other dogs out side, so it's hard to take my dog out to the bathroom. It's just ridiculous we have tried to be nice to everyone's Nd just get shit on. I honestly hate this place. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not even consider renting an apartment from the Solomon group. I rented an apartment from Twin Lakes and it was the worst renting experience I have ever had. Where to start? They charge a fee for everything. They make it look like they have reasonable rent prices but if you figure in the fees they slam you with every month you are paying $500 a month over a comparable rental unit. The apartments are disgusting. Gross and cheap finishes. Furthermore, my neighbor was a hard drug user and he walked into my apartment, took off his shirt and laid on my couch. The leasing agents are only helpful while chasing their commission checks, and turn into ghosts at best and compulsive liars at worst once you've signed your lease. The walls are paper thin, the snow and ice is never removed in a timely manner, the appliances are refurbished and bottom-barrel, the water comes out cloudy from the pipes, they can't guarantee you a parking space and indeed they often run out, and they don't follow up with or enforce noise or ordor concerns you may have with your neighbors. read more

2017-2018: The power would go out all the time. Other than that, we didnt have a problem until the month of August. Mold is popping up everwhere. On things that shouldnt get mold, like pots and pans in the kitchen, clothes hanging up in the bedroom closet, cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, baskets, the dresser, shoes, etc. They had a lady come take a look, she took notes and pictures. They had maintance come(at 8 am without any warning) the next day to take care of a few affected areas. But a week later when i called about it again they said the lady(that took the notes and pictures) hadn't observed anything wrong( i called them out on that) but they sent someone else to come take a look. Lease isnt up til November but im done, already started packing my things because i don't want to deal with the mold. I'm gonna see if they'll let me out of my lease early, but knowing them they wont let that happen. 2018-2019 Now it's almost a year later. In order to get out if the old apartment with the serious mold issue, I signed a year lease on another apartment. Stupid on my part, I know. The office, maintenance, and the communication between the two is no better than before. I've gone a month now without AC. They gave me one window unit, that doesn't reach the whole apartment and has raised my electric bill. They have not tried to contact me, I keep having to call week after week. I have cats in the apartment that they are aware of and I have a medical condition where I have allergic reactions to over heating. I made sure several of them were aware of that as well. If they needed a Doctors note, they didn't ask for one. This morning I opened the door to fined a note from maintenance saying they missed me and they don't have a key. First of all.. they have some how managed to lose 3 copies of my apartment keys.. at that point maybe they should change the locks? Second.. I've been home all morning, you didn't think to try the doorbell? I have dates and names of who I spoke to, not just from this situation but from the mold issue in the other apartment as well. Stay away from twin lakes!! Most of the staff is rude!! If they can they will try to get more money out of U! When U move they do NOT give U your security deposit back & will even try to say U owe them money if they go over the deposit they won't give back to U!! Could say a whole lot more! I just moved in 3 months ago and so far, no complaints! We live in a newer building with remodeled/updated floor plans. With every apartment there will be minor inconveniences which is why I put 4 stars. For example, we seem to only get about 15-20 minutes of hot water. (It used to be less) We've called maintenance and they've done the best they can! 15-20 mins works for us so we didn't feel the need to peruse the issue any further. Another thing that docked a star is parking. There are no assigned parking spots which can be good and bad. Some nights you're unable to find a parking spot in front of your building, but I've never had trouble finding a spot reasonably close. ANY time I've called the office or maintenance they've been kind and prompt. I know there are other reviews stating maintenance is horrible, but they recently got a new maintenance team and they are great! Especially working with the father and son team that came to help us with our water. We really like living here so far! read more

1.They told us they were coming in to inspect our filters and lights and never did , they told us they were coming in to replace our appliances and never did and now a notice for toilet and faucet replacement? 2.They NEVER answer the office phone and there is no direct line to maintenance and you have to leave your messages up to the office to be passed through and never do. 3. There was/is a hole in our closet that looked like someone kicked it in when we went around for move in inspection , an old bag of McDonald's and a discarded chest with vape pen cartridges in it . They spent an extra week "cleaning" before we could move in and I had to "re"clean the fridge and tub . The bathroom tiling is disgusting and they never re-caulked the toilet . The white shower rod? Is wrapping paper on a rusted metal rod that peels off with water absorption . The drain is ALWAYS clogging . 4. The power goes out during every single storm no matter the duration or intensity . 5. I broke my lease early . When we signed the 1 year lease , they told us we could break the lease at any time , if we paid the termination fees . It cost us 3 months rent to move out . They told us because we had not been there for 6 months that we could not move out , because of courtesy. Courtesy? You want to charge me an extra month for your benefit not to look like shit to corporate for having a high move out rate by telling me you have a courtesy limit? She said and I quote "it is NOT in your lease , but it is a COURTESY to live here for 6 months before breaking your lease." And even then she said I may not be able to after our 6th month - if it's not in my lease - it is not required , thus . Let me move the hell out if I pay the fees . We had to threaten them with the Attorney General to have our lease broken officially . It all happened within the same day of them telling me it was "impossible" . Worst place I have ever lived fuck twin lakes. Constant issues with our sink in kitchen faucet up stairs . The faucet makes loud noises and at one point had hot water leaking. maintenance took forever each time. we payed for pool only to never be allowed to use (covid being one of reasons) should have taken off our rent . Also charged us a extra fee because I have. Record talk bout discrimination. right now I'm trying to get my security deposit back and I have been out of twin lakes for 4 months ! First they mixed up our town house did we left a couch and other belongings when we didn't. they also claim we didn't pay the full security deposit upon move in which makes zero sence .unfortunately I don't have a copy of lease . Finally they sent a portion of it minus 300 . They said that check was on it way. Still nothing my wife and I have called 6x and they keep telling us they will have someone call us back . Anytime we had any issue it was. bitch to get ahold of someone . when I bought a house I asked if they could extend my lease a month they wanted 500 for each of us on top of rent there a bunch of crooks !! read more

This was one of the worst experience of my life. We came from a large house, and we wanted (my family and I), to live a simpler, quieter life with less maintenance. Well, we got the opposite. For starters, when we first inquired about moving into a three-bedroom apartment at Twin Lakes, the girl at the front desk, Amanda, was sweet and caring. We thought she was our friend and would look out for us. Well, that was only until we became tenants and then she stopped caring. We asked for a quiet apartment - and we were told our upstairs neighbors were a quiet elderly couple. NOPE. 2 heavyset adults with FOUR kids, who were all constantly running around. 2 dogs. Parties all the time. They constantly yelled. There was no quiet since it was loud from 4 AM until 2 AM - even then we'd hear something! THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU FREAKIN LIIIIIIIIIIKE NOISE! Awful. We could hear them talking upstairs. When we first moved in, there were bugs everywhere, and even a hole in the bathrooms right behind the toilet bowls with bugs swarming out of them. Mice in the kitchen, mold in the bathroom tubs, cracks in the walls, the dishwasher was falling out of its place, etc. Whenever we had a maintenance problem it would take them weeks to get to it. Two members of my household are handicap, and it took Twin Lakes almost 4 months to get a reserved parking spot for that. Four fucking months. Parking was awful here. People would pretty much let their families move in for the hell of it, so even with one car in our household we could never park. There's not enough room to drive around to find parking since the 'driveways' are pathetic and small. There's dog and geese shit everywhere. No one seems to clean this place up! Don't even get me started with the scumbags in the front office. They never return calls, all they say (once you have to fucking go in) is "we'll take care of it" lol. Nope. Nothing. Ever. Especially Amanda - she may look cute and nice, but she's quite the bitch. The year my family spent here was torture. We felt trapped, unsafe, uncomfortable, and miserable. I have lived at Twin Lakes for over a year. Recently have become disabled. Advanced copd , have had a heart difibulator put in my chest. Very hard to breathe. On a hot June day, my air conditioner went out. Couldn't even breathe in my own apartment. Contacted office. Joe from maintenance came over. Checked everything he could. But said I needed an hvac specialist...not until Monday,this was on Sunday. He felt terrible for not being able to help. 2 hrs later he showed up with manager of maintenance..(hvac certified). Needless to say,I was able to go back into my apt.. These guys were great. Joe followed up! Can't say enough about the maintenance crew here. read more

We've been on the property for 10 years come February. While most things look pretty, they don't have properly skilled and/or enough of a maintenance team to handle all the properties they are responsible for. They don't enforce the lease rules very well at all. They supposedly have breed restrictions on dogs (pits and others) and there are several people who have them just on our side of the property. People know there's a leash law, yet they allow their dogs off leash quite frequently. One attacked a former neighbor and his dog about 3 years back and about a year ago, one got away from its handler and came after my small dog who was leashed. People are not held to the responsibility of cleaning up after their dogs even though there are several doggie bag stations around the property and even though they've been identified to the office. People also are not held to the responsibility of following rules about noise levels coming from their unit and disturbing the peaceful enjoyment of those around them. Touted to be "luxury homes" you can see the drywall tape & screws through the paint in our master bedroom. They had one decent property manager in 10 years and she left recently. She was not afraid to do her job. I do believe we will finally be moving on when our lease is done this year. Save yourself the hassle, look elsewhere. read more
