Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

I counted about five functional toilet stalls, as well as two showers. There was toilet paper available and multiple sinks, which all had hot and cold water. There was also a washing area for dishes around the corner as well as a laundry room right next to the women's restroom. Everyone was very respectful of lights out as well as quiet hours.

This was one of the few all season campgrounds we found in the area last minute and we able to book a tent site over the phone. On arrival we were greeted by Mr. Sykes who was very friendly and straightforward. We got a map of the campsite and got to choose our own. Firewood was $14, make sure to bring a hatchet to cut wood to smaller pieces to start your fire. Campsites were on one side and trailers/RVs across a small dirt road. The sites are fairly close together but since there was only one other person camping we had plenty of privacy. The sites all had a stone fire pit and a picnic bench. The trails behind the campsite appear to be snowmobiling trails, they don't extend very far, would probably recommend finding other local trails to do. It's a campsite so I don't expect fancy bathrooms but the big thing (which I saw in other reviews before booking and took with a grain of salt) was that the showers were pretty dirty. The building smelled bad and there were no towels or anything to dry one's hands which is not a big deal to me, but the showers should probably get cleaned at least once a day. There were two stalls on the women's side, one had a lot of caked up grime and the other also features someone's hair and other little bits of debris. We just opted to skip showering but if you plan to, bring shower flip flops! Overall this campsite had what we needed to enjoy some time away and the owner was easy going and nice to interact with.

I rode in with my SUV and the town's people set up with outdoor furniture and congregating in the town square. They were a lawless bunch and one of the lady walked up to me as if she was the sheriff and told me the speed limit was 5 mph. My 185 horse power engine never went over the speed limit since I have very good eye sight and saw her toddler from 100 yards back wandering around on the road like a lost coyote. I bit my tongue and thought to myself, you should put a leash on that pup of yours and stop blaming others for your lack of a parenting skills....I didn't want a showdown at sunset so I nodded my head and went on my way to set up camp for the night. As for the Fort itself, the bathroom was unkempt and dirty. The campsite was unraked and had litter every where. I've seen better homestead further north. The RV definitely ruled the Fort and outsiders were stared and glared upon. On the positive side, It did have a store, ice, laundry and the high school kids who run it were friendly. The campground is designed for family with kids and there's a amusement park next door that is great for the little ones. I'd recommend management to clean the bathroom (scrub showers, sweep floors) more and rake the camp sites of any debris and leaves. I think next time, I will keep trotting along until I find a better place to set up a tent.

It's a bit rugged, having only pit toilets and water taps and no firewood or ice, but the price is right ($20 per night but sorry, only US), walk-up reservations can be found--cash or checks can be dropped off at the iron ranger, and a site host traveled through the loop once or twice a day. Once you're here, escape! You're in the midst of this pristine National Forest. The Ammonoosuc River is a good place for a dip while you're here, off the loop or a short trek to Lower Falls trail. There's at least one trail off Sugarloaf I, and AMC and Crawford Notch hiking aren't far, and you won't lack mountain views. The Kancamagus, breweries, Mt. Washington Auto Road, and tourist spots are within an hour's drive, but alas you have to get a parking pass at a ranger station or an annual pass at AMC. Crawford Notch has pay sites too. You have to keep a clean campsite and pack your food/avoid burning trash, but dumpsters in the camp loop make it easier. Sugarloaf is a budget-friendly, semi-rugged, super peaceful spot for a quiet getaway.

Alice took me around the campground to show me all the tent sites. I picked a huge site (t-18) which was very secluded and away from the main area. And it was only $250 for the month. I believe they are the cheapest around. They have great rates for seasonal campers as well. So I got there and had to get my car towed,twice while there. Alice,a very cool lady,offered me use of a golf cart since she knew I have breathing issues and several stents in my heart. To me,this was as nice as someone could get. While stranded,she brought me wood,even went in town and got me ice so my food wouldn't spoil! How cool for her to do that,not really knowing me. Alice and Brian are very very nice people!! They keep the place clean,the bathrooms are clean also,which to me is very important. The views are just great,Burns Lake Campground sits atop a hill that has views of the mountains in front of all the site up top. The sunsets are awesome. Plus it's located close to many things to do. Even though they don't have a beach (YET) there is a free state park right on the same road. There's trails to hike and a nice sandy beach. But there is a pool on the campgrounds. Access for putting in a canoe right there by the lake. Alice and Brian are new owners of this place,and from my knowledge,they have fixed up the place. All new bathrooms. What's nice about them,is they are a full bath in each room. Toilet,shower and sink. They offer soap and paper towels for washing hands and face right in the bathroom too. There are no men's or women's rooms. Each one is for who ever wants to use them. We had planned on going back for a spectacular fall. But unfortunately my father in law was diagnosed with lung cancer and we had to postpone. This is the place to relax and enjoy the scenery!! Brian and Alice ARE very god people! We are not campers.... we are not super outdoorsy people so when we saw that they rent their RVs we…read morethought it would be a great way for us to experience "glamping." And it was! We rented one of the larger campers and it worked out great for us. They have a small general store where you check-in that has hot coffee, icees, different drinks and alchoholic drinks and some swag to buy. They have lots of activities for kids to do in the late afternoon/early evening, a nice playground, volley ball nets, basketball court, arcade and hay rides. The place felt very safe and all of the kids were riding their bikes and scooters all around the camp area and laughing and playing together. Our particular camper was OK. I would not call it a luxury unless you are comparing it to an actual tent. The reason being that the AC did not work - it barely cooled off the small space and did not reach to the upper bedroom and the beds were like sleeping on plywood. I did speak to the desk about the beds and was told they hadn't gotten into that particular unit yet to add in mattress toppers. Having the outdoor kitchen area was great and the small fridge is perfect to store any sodas or beverages you bring that don't need to take up room in the inside small fridge. The major complaint about the camper is that they had scented plugins in every single outlet and even some free standing ones all over the place - it made the fake smell unbearable for the first day. While we were there it was water weekend and we were able to go to Santa's Village one night with just the others from the campground which was so much fun! We will definitely be back.

The employees in the store were nice and helpful. No issues the first time. 4.5 stars. Our second time was in 2024. One pool was out of service due to recent flooding so the other pool was packed all the time. The store employees were again nice and helpful. Our site's septic was uphill making emptying near impossible. There was an odor in the area. Almost like a wet stale smell. We also had a mouse or mice running around our site. Around 8pm the employees were driving these motorized golf cart. There were three of them, all appeared to be doing laps for no apparent reason. The cart being driven but the female employee was operated in a safe slow manner. The other two, operated by two younger males, were being driven a lot faster. Felt like they racing each other. One would drive down the road weaving back and forth. I think he was trying to miss the uneven ruts in the road but slowing down would have achieved the same thing. The slamming of the dumpster lids after 8pm by the employees was annoying. Everyone was sitting around their fires and the slamming noise was just uncalled for. Probably will try a different place next year.

I'll admit, I was a little skeptical about booking Twin Mountain Campground after reading some of…read morethe reviews on Google and Yelp. However, many of them were older, so I figured things could have changed, and I'm really glad we decided to give it a chance! Booking online was super easy, and I loved how simple check-in was. Check in is at 1:00 PM, and we didn't even have to stop at the office or store. We were able to go directly to our campsite and start setting up. We stayed at site #34, right by the river, and had beautiful views. Our site had electricity and water, which made everything so much more convenient. My only real complaint about our particular site was the ground. It was pretty rocky and sandy, which made finding the perfect spot for our tent a little challenging, especially because we knew rain and thunderstorms were coming Saturday into Sunday. We eventually found "the best" placement, put down our tarp, set up the tent, and used moving blankets under our mattress to help with some of the rocks. It was hot and humid while setting everything up, but once we were settled, it was great. The rain started Saturday afternoon and continued through much of the night. By Sunday morning, the river had definitely risen quite a bit, but listening to the sound of the rain and rushing river from our campsite was AMAZING. Honestly, that ended up being one of my favorite parts of the experience. I normally bring my own portable potty and shower when camping, but before leaving I checked out the campground restrooms and was pleasantly surprised by how nice and clean they were. My husband said the same about the men's restroom. The campground also has a pool and playground. We didn't use them since it was just my husband and me, but we drove around the campground and everything looked nice. Some sites are closer together than others, but depending on where you stay, you can still have a decent sense of privacy. A few other things that are good to know: alcoholic beverages are not allowed, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Make sure you're packed up and out by 10 if you don't want to be charged an additional fee. There is also a general store right next to the campground. It was open and had quite a few items, although, of course, the one thing I happened to need, Advil, wasn't available. Thankfully, there's a gas station just down the road that seemed to have just about everything you could think of, so that worked out perfectly. Another HUGE plus for me is the location. We love the Lincoln area, and the campground is only about a 30 minute drive from Lincoln. Getting in and out is easy, with convenient highway access, so you can camp in Twin Mountain while still easily enjoying Lincoln and the surrounding White Mountains. Overall, we had a great experience at Twin Mountain Campground and would absolutely stay here again. Between the river views, utilities, easy check in, clean facilities, convenient location, and proximity to Lincoln, it ended up being a great choice for our weekend. My advice: don't let some of those older reviews discourage you. Campgrounds can change over time, and based on our experience, I'm very glad we decided to see it for ourselves. We'll definitely be back!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! . The RUDEST and most disrespectful management we have ever encountered…read moreanywhere, hands down. Would need a book to adequately warn people. We have been camping and traveling for decades, and have never encountered anything like what happened to us here. We were accidentally overcharged and were met with pure annoyance and rudeness by the owner, trying to rectify - ultimately we were refunded the wrong amount, to the wrong account , which I let slide because the management did not appear to be cognitively able to understand the bill. Later I was inexplicably accused of "not stopping" because I was seeking a refund amount. My bf and his son collected dead wood at site to burn (didn't know it was against rules - not in written policy - and we immediately stopped) and were not so kindly reprimanded by the owner on her golf cart full of wine coolers (no judgement here - but it is a no alcohol campground - just saying) , who immediately called her husband for back up to reprimand us further. Lastly and most importantly, my boyfriend poked his head in the bathroom at 7 am (not normally a time they clean) to ask how much longer the lady cleaning up might be be , and was chastised by her! For asking a simple question! Politely!!! . She was so rude! . Upon mentioning the nastiness with which she spoke to him, we were told by employee that we had no right to ask her questions! Closed means closed - and he went on to tell us she was having personal issues in her life and going through a rough time. Who isn't? Doesn't excuse being scolded for asking a simple question! My Bf was so polite when he asked - he just really needed to use the bathroom and was trying to figure out if he should wait or find another spot. He was shocked by how she spoke to him. We had already decided we would never be back (mainly because of the way the cleaning woman spoke to my bf) , but Upon returning home I recd a scathing email from the owner claiming that my bf "HARASSED" the cleaning lady and that she was fearful for her safety having a male open the door to a bathroom where she was alone and asks her a question (imagine the horror!)and that WE ARE BANNED FROM COMING BACK! For asking a question! (And apparently attempting to correct the bill - how dare we! lol) We had already decided we would never step foot back in that campground, but still, we're shocked at her ridiculous accusation of harassment!!! We are not difficult people, and we have never had a problem like we did here. She then BLOCKED my email so I could not respond to her ridiculous LIES, and she blocked me fromFb - so I was unable to leave a review there. Working all year long to finally go on a much needed vacation , then to be treated like this, is so awful.
