I want to start off this review by saying how very thankful and impressed I was by the staff at this KOA. Extremely kind, accommodating and hard working. Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same! read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our cat got out and several staff helped look for her. They were so caring and helpful. Cat was found 4 hours later thankfully. Campsites were clean and neat. Sites were well shaded by trees. Bathrooms clean. Cabins looked well taken care of. Can't say enough nice things. We would go back for sure. Nice area, too. The sites we used are large and provide what you need for a nights' rest while traveling. Some very loud, very drunk folks were having a bit to much fun at way to late a time, but that's on those folks, not the park. We liked the place enough to get a second night. super convenient to local attractions. Recommend for these reasons. I dinged them 1 star for not helping us find our site or providing any sort of written or verbal information. The wooded areas are lovely, and the river flowing nearby are as well. read more

This is one of my favorite campgrounds I've been. Super family friendly, lots of activities for the kids, dog friendly. The staff blew me away how helpful and nice everyone is. They really go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. We will defiantly be back again! read more

This was our second year here, staying in late August. The previous year we stayed on the end of a tent site lane, number 30, and rather enjoyed ourselves despite the rain. That particular site had trees on three sides and was a little bigger than the rest. Perhaps it was the rain that drowned out the nearby highway, but this year with clearer skies we found the road noise intrusive. It's not the end of the world, but cars going by and trucks droning was noticable. Consider pre-picking a site as far as the road from the highway as possible. The site we stayed on this year was smaller than most of the KOAs that we've been on, but seem to be the average size here. Not horrible but below average. (vs say the tent sites at Herkimer NY or the KOA at Whiteface/Lake Placid). The people operating the site, which apparently has been sold in the previous year and now under new management, are all very, very nice and very helpful. Interestingly they let us know that the new place has a little bit more strict rules. We've been on the road for 2 weeks so we like quiet time promptly at 10:00pm, as I imagine most people do, but being told that the campfire also has to be out by 11pm I thought was a bit odd. As a side note, the staff was thankfully attentive to a somewhat loud party of tourists, who were then much quieter the next evening. The pool is heated (if a bit small), appeared clean although I didn't use it myself, and fellow campers spoke nicely of it. I saw lots of kids enjoying it - always a good sign. Small things at the camp store cost a little more than other KOAs. For example $9 for a bundle of softwood (which lasted about 1 hour), and $4 for a bag of ice. (Whereas on the same trip at other koa's would be ~$7 for wood & ~$2.50 for a bag of ice) The proximity to Mount Washington was good, (if that's one of your destinations in the area) but the canteen prices being a little more, the site being a little smaller (while definitely clean and well maintained) and the nightly rate definitely being on the higher end compared to other KOAs we've spent time at... I think this place is fairly mediocre overall. If the staff were only average I would give the place three stars, (which isn't meant to be bad, but average). I wish there was a way to give three and a half stars... But I don't quite believe it deserves four. We'll probably look for someplace else next year. read more

It was my first time staying at a KOA. Have to say I'd make this my home if I needed to. Everything was only a short walking distance from our camp site. It was as private as you can get and quiet hours were observed. It had necessities you need. Each hook up had a water spicket, electric hook up and fire pit. Showers were free and there was just enough cell service where you didn't really need wifi. The location was just a short 10 min from our hike to Mt Washington. I'd return 100%!! read more

I have stayed in this campground twice, Oct 2017 and Oct 2018. The owners, Brad and Becky, are very welcoming. Although they are busy, they stop to chat and they remembered my name. They take great care of the campground. For instance, the bathrooms have been redone, they built a covered bridge to allow walkers the ability to cross a creek, a pavilion to cover guests waiting for the hayride, and they are extending the pool deck. They host ice cream socials on Saturday nights and pancake breakfast on Sundays. There was a musician playing two of the Saturdays I was there this year. Some of the other posts mention lack of night patrol, but I did notice the owner driving around at night during my past visit. The campground is clean and there are thoughtful touches lovingly nestled here and there. They have beautiful cabins that look out over sunset. Some pull through spots have concrete patios and furniture. There is also a great playground with a "mining" area. In the same area, you will find a dog park. The spots are close, but you're there to hike not party as this is a family friendly campground. I have never noticed my neighbors until they say hello. This is the place to stay. read more

I would definitely recommend this campground and certainly plan on going back. The staff was very friendly. They were always taking to the campers, asking how their stay was, cleaning, or driving around either showing someone the way to their camp site, or delivering fire wood. All the facilities were clean and well kept, I was very impressed with the bathrooms. And the store was very handy. Just about any little thing you forgot, you can find their for not too much money. I didn't hear the road noise, but I also was there during the shoulder season and requested a more secluded site. read more

We stayed at Twin Mountain KOA in May 2019. Very clean and adorable camping facility. We were in one of their deluxe cabins with a bathroom, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen sink, a tv, table, four chairs, one set of bunk beds and one full size bed. Very good for families with little kids - they have a large playground, pool and fun activities throughout the day and night. Staff is extremely hospitable and friendly. Store is well stocked! Nights are very quiet on the campgrounds. We will definitely be back soon! read more

We enjoyed our time here but I'm not sure I will be coming back. I visited this KOA, my first KOA experience, with my wife and three little kids. We stayed at a 1 room "Kabin" but pitched a tent next to it so our one year old and mommy could enjoy some more comfort and quiet at bed time. I was impressed with their customer service: I emailed them after registering and they quickly re-assigned us to the biggest Kabin spot so we had room for the tent. The other goods: + Nice pool, not fancy but good enough for any small children who want to splash or cool off + A playground and play field - which wasn't much either, but with lots of kids in the campground it didn't matter. My three kids were having a blast. + Location was great for travelling to Santas Village and the Lost River Gorge. Also I saw lots of spots for hiking in the White Mountains (about 15 minute drive) + Nice friendly staff + Well stocked general store + Nice bathrooms, warm showers From what my friends tell me, these are basic pluses of all KOA parks. BUT, here is the BUT.... We love campsites that are private, wooded and natural, but most of sites at this location don't offer that so be careful what spot you get. They assigned us Kabin 6 which was a really great site - lots of room and pretty private. My kids could run around a bit and never both our neighbors. Though I should say: most of the sites we saw, and we toured many of them, had very little privacy at all. I think if you call you could probably get a good wooded spot, but we didnt see much. Also our site was along the highway. There were about 100 feet of thick forest between us and the highway - but still we were disappointed with the amount of truck noise - at ALL hours of the night. I awoke many times through the night to hear the rumble of trucks exhaust braking - which is horribly loud as it passed by. Since we weren't far from many other sites I am betting most other sites were exposed to the same noise. Even my wife in the cabin was awoken probably a dozen times by loud trucks at night. read more

My Bf and I have stayed at several KOA's over the years. Normal stuff, bring your own linens. We chose a Kabin in the back. KT1 had woods on one side. I really liked the Kabin. It was very roomy and came with it's own bathroom. It could sleep 4 people. 1 double bed and a bunk bed. There was WiFi in the camp, but it really sucked at our place. Had to go to the office area to get service. Had a small pool. They said it was heated, but felt pretty cold to me. There was a large play area for the kids. (volleyball, teether ball, playground equipment, horseshoes, and I think there was shuffleboard) There was chairs in this area for the parents to chill, but still keep an eye on the kids. There was also a pet zone for doggie business and running about. Right next to our kabin were recycling bins. Good idea for the planet, bad idea when the French kids set up all the cans and turned it into a war zone. These kids were throwing rocks and shooting the recyclables with with a nerf gun. (No parents about) Might want to rethink the bins and put in some actual trash cans that require a key to open. On a happier note. Staff was seen driving around in the golf cart often. Delivering firewood, keeping an eye on things. Staff was very friendly. Couldn't help us book another KOA in another town for a few days later. Apparently They're not connected. They can give you a KOA brochure, but after that you're on your own. Well hope this helps you decide if this place is for you. Life is an adventure, Have fun and live it well. read more

Came to the White Mountains for a nice break and decided to stay at the Twin Mountain KOA. We rented a basic cabin, which had electricity and a few beds. The cabin's porch had a two person swing. The campground bathrooms were always clean, the staff here do a great job. Our lot was clean and it had a fire pit which we used every evening. We had a positive experience here! It's in a great location and not far from nature trails and other hidden gems just waiting to be discovered! I will be coming here again and I highly recommend it to others. read more

We have a KOA membership and this location' staff made me very thankful that KOA is the place i camp most often. I just want to take a moment and give a special thank you to worker Spike. Not only was i alone with jut my two dogs but it was also only the second time i have used my pop up camper and Spike helped me pull it in with grace and patience. Helped me figure out my propane tank and consistently came back to check on me to make sure i was ok. I appreciated that more then i can say. The whole staff as a whole were so pleasant that i found myself taking longer to pack up today just for the sake of conversation with them. it is a great place for families and their pets. The only reason i give 4 stars instead of 5 is because i think unlike other locations there didn't seem to be a golf cart going around after quiet hour to enforce the rule. There was a rather large party going on next to me on Sat evening. it was 10:30 when i finally screamed out of my window it's past 10 go to bed. i think normally i wouldn't have mind so much but since this location is geared towards hikers and bikers we tend to get a very early start to get in as many miles as possible so it made for a very tiring day Sunday hiking a 4000 foot mountain on 5 hours sleep. so that is my only peace of advice to maybe have a silent section for early risers or enforce the white time and make it an hour earlier. lots of camp grounds including other KOA's have it at 9:00. read more

We (wife, me, 3 kids) decided that we'd like to spend some time up north and enjoy the outdoors. The plan was to do some local hiking during the day, and spend some peaceful time around the fire at night. The party next to us, however, was literally a party. They had 20+ people all congregating at their cabin, and they played music non-stop the entire weekend. Yes, I said *music*. Apparently people head to nature and decide the most appropriate thing to do is to make sure they are not faced with any peace and quiet. For some people, it is used to drown out the voices in their head. For others, they just enjoy the fact that they can bring the city with them. Well, this noise pollution was incessant. We spoke with the KOA twice and they refused to do anything about it. They *allow* music as a policy. So, I traveled from the quiet suburbs of Boston to the White Mountains only to find that I could have just traveled to a nearby city and had the same experience. If you are looking for some sense of peace, or don't want to be yelling over country music in order to ask for another marshmallow, look elsewhere. Note: KOA staff did not offer any discount for the noise pollution. They first told us that we "could leave". They then said they would see how loud it was, and that it has to stop at 10:00pm. It never did stop - and it certainly didn't stop at 10:00pm. My only hope is that people will learn from our mistake: KOA Twin Mountain. read more

We stayed three nights after spending four nights at a state park. The friendly staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. We especially liked the live music and ice cream social Saturday evening. Excellent place for children too. read more

So, I was a bit disappointed with my stay here. I did get the site I requested but the water/electric location for my site was buried under a bush and just about in the next site. My first night was unbearable with the noise of rude neighbors. The sites are just too close together for a private seclusion. I was really hoping the hosts would have patrolled to quite people down, especially as one neighbor was playing music over their car stereo until almost 2 am. On a positive note, this place is well located to access all three of the Notches of the White Mountains, the showers are hot and there is a little bit of wifi for those needing it. While I did notice the highway noise, I live next I95 and am used to truck (all night). read more

We always do our camping at KOA and this one did not disappoint. They have awesome Kabins(some with bathrooms) as well as a pool and great activities for the kids. They always have staff going around to check in and are close to activities like Clarkes Trading Post and Franconia park to name a few. Next time we are in the area we will defiantly stay here. read more

Not the greatest experience. It's an average campground. However, I do have quite a bit to complain about. I had work to do, so when we rented the site we insisted there had to be wifi, which we were assured there was. There was wifi, it just did not work. AT ALL. Also, the wood they delivered...wet. The camp ground is also very close to the road, so beware of the loud vehicles. Also, pretty close to the campsite next to us, and smelled of sewage whenever any camper was setting up or leaving (that ruined one breakfast). On a positive, the facilities were well kept, and staff friendly (at times overbearing though). Overall, not the greatest camping experience, but I would not want to return. Review: +Nice Pool +Nice playground +Friendly staff +Nice facilities +Lots of recreation a short drive away -LOUD highway -Close to neighboring camps -NO WIFI (despite claim) and poor phone service (AT&T) -Delivered wet wood two days in a row. -Staff could be overbearing Overall, the cons outway the perks. This campground has new owners and we predict great things for this KOA. The owners, Brad and Becca are so friendly and welcoming. Brad was so helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. He shared some of the plans they have for the park...with their enthusiasm and commitment, this KOA will be brought back to life. Lots of trees and wooded campsites, this dog friendly Park was an enjoyable stay. Only problem, we live 3100 miles away so we won't be able to enjoy watching this jewel in the rough shine. read more
