I give this place four stars because of the quality and flavor of the food. There really is no ambiance, and it is more like an old fashioned chinese take out with tables and chairs. The potstickers are deep fried, which I don't care for. On the plus side. the items that had coated and deep fried meat chunks were perfectly cooked, not greasy, and not over cooked so the meat still had some flavor and texture, which seems to be missing from other Chinese take outs. There was enough sauce to coat the meat , with a little extra. I really liked the food here because everything did not taste the same, or like old oil. they must do it right by using a really hot wok and only enough oil to cook the food quickly. the rice on the other hand is not my style. it is more of a broken rice that dries out if you take it home, and no hot sour soup. Regardless, I still enjoyed it. the service was still pretty good for pick up and sit down. She was very accommodating. I will eat here again on my next trip down Highway 50/93 in Nevada. read more

My fiancé and I found this place while staying in Ely this weekend. After a long day of hiking at Great Basin NP yesterday, we wanted to pick up something for dinner and bring it back to our hotel. After coming here last night, we were pleasantly surprised with the great service and delicious food. Due to the whole covid crisis, this place only offers take out and no dine in at this time (which we were completely fine with). I simply called the restaurant to place our order and it took only 15 minutes. We both ordered the "Dinner B" family meal, which is ​$16.95/person and comes with soup, egg roll, cheese wonton, chicken wing, and your choice of a main dish listed on their menu. My fiancé ordered the kung pao combo (beef, chicken, & shrimp) and I ordered the Mongolian beef. In addition, we ordered a small size of bbq pork. Once we drove up to the restaurant, there's a sign that says that only staff are allowed inside. You basically wait by the front entrance in your car and someone will come out. We were promptly greeted by one of the staff who immediately brought our food out to us. I have to commend them that the whole process went extremely smooth and painlessly easy given the covid situation. We brought our food back to the hotel and found everything to be delicious. We were also amazed that the portions were huge given the great deal we paid for!! In addition, they also provided us utensils and small packets of condiments- like soy sauce, hot mustard, etc. I wish I took a picture of the food but we were so hungry and everything smelled amazing. This is a great spot if you're wanting good food with friendly staff especially since there aren't many restaurant options in Ely to choose from. We plated the few eatable items and before we were finished the kitchen had replenished most of the very limited dishes offered on the buffet. The fresh food was okay, but not great. Drinks are not included in price. Had to walk up to the front counter and ask for our plates to be cleared and waters filled. We came for the buffet and really enjoyed itr everything was tasty and the right price. We each got to pick what we wanted and try things that we don't normally get at home. The egg flower soup was tasty and had bits of tofu in it. The egg fu young was great and don't miss the pork and green beans. Egg rolls are yummy and so were the crab rangoon. Went in on a Friday night. About five tables were being served. Our waitress slammed our water glasses on the table. Not sure if this was intentional or just an accident. Service was just ok. Our waitress was more interested in taking her break and eating than waiting on tables. The food was sub par and what you would get from any strip mall take out Chinese restaurant, certainly not worth sitting down for a meal. But this is Ely, NV. The Mongolian Beef was 70% sliced cooking onions WTF is that? Flavor was ok but little beef! And Mongolian beef is usually sliced green onions! And not cooked! This review is a very weak three stars--I kind of want to give two, but realize this is based on only one visit. We arrived at 1:30 for lunch. They walked us past the buffet and showed us to a table and asked for water to drink. No menus, no information. When the server brought us the water, we asked how much the buffet was ($10 each). We got our food, and as we go up to go get a bit more noticed that they were closing--at 2:00! In any event, the food was OK, but not great. Nothing worth $20 for two. The place is filthy and I was questioning my dinner decision immediately because if it looks filthy in the dining area, just imagine how the kitchen looks. It did not get better from there. Service was terrible. There were two young people working and they would just swing by and slam plates on the table and quickly walk away. We had to ask for silverware and we were given the wrong dish. We ended up chasing them down a few times. I won't even get into the food. It has been a long time since I have had such horrible service. Driving through Ely on a road trip, stopped here for dinner based on the reviews. I appreciated the COVID precautions, and only allowing curbside pickup. Service was great. We ordered the Dinner B combo with Mongolian Beef, and a separate order of Kung Pao chicken. The wonton soup that came with the dinner combo was yummy with green vegetables mixed in. The entrees were too spicy for our liking, however, and had I known I would have asked for them to be more mild. We were only able to eat about 1/4 of each entree before the spicy food overwhelmed us. If you like very spicy chinese food, this is the place to go. read more

Walked in based in reviews after a long long drive from San Diego. We were the only ones in the restaurant and that worried me a tad. We ordered and then people started to show up. I think Twin Wok is pretty good. Ive came here a few times and it's pretty consistent. Although the server is not very outgoing, she is kind and attentive. She made sure to always refill my beverage without asking. The food is always hot. I usually get combination Lo-mein, Mongolian beef, or their chicken wings. I tried their pepper beef and didn't like it much. But the three main things I do get, taste like they should. I'd keep coming back here. :) read more

Much better than you would expect. Avoid typical American combo meals with all the carb-bloating accouterments like egg roll and chow mein and order dishes a la carte. We ordered spicy string beans and mapo tofu which weren't on the menu and they were happy to accommodate--even eager. They were both great, the beans crunchy and fresh, the tofu silky, and the service is friendly and attentive. The decor is reflective of then town--a hybrid of faux western and Victorian in an old Sizzlers, but just be grateful you can get respectable Chinese American food in a tiny desolate town. read more

Contrary to what others have said, I have eaten their "five star" Chinese in the big cities and wasn't impressed. The food here is top notch (they have won awards for it and have them for people to see), and the service is excellent. There is wheel chair accessibility contrary to what the page says. The spicy food is actually spicy and they will prepare without MSG if requested, and have an all you can eat lunch buffet (order the buffet not the entrees at lunch they will just get your food off the buffet for the Ala carte) They even have children's meals for the less adventurous kid (not reccommended...American food in a Chinese food place? You tell me!) Portions are huge and prices are acceptable. A must for a good meal! Highly recommended. read more

Asked the hotel clerk at La Quinta Inn for a recommendation and he gave me this place. I ordered the BBQ Pork, Egg Rolls and the Chicken Fried Rice, my typical Chinese food order at a new place. The BBQ Pork was ok, it came bathed in a soy sauce, sauce, which I wasn't expecting, but it tasted ok. The egg rolls were good, flakey outside, crisp cabbage inside and not too greasy. The chicken fried rice was excellent. Not sure what they did with the chicken, but it was in strips about the size of wonton noodles, looks like they may have seared it before adding it to the rice. It was good though! The staff were very attentive and quick to deliver the food and refill drinks. Bottom line, I would eat here again when next in Ely. read more
