I have been a loyal customer of Twins for a long time and normally give them 5 stars for everything. They do an amazing job with oil changes, tire rotations, car detailing, and rust protection. They are my absolute go-to for standard maintenance. However, they recently started offering brake repair services, and unfortunately, this is where things went wrong. I recently had them service my brakes, and shortly after, I had to completely pull over on the side of the road because my brakes were shot and making a terrifying noise. When I looked, a wire was completely wrapped around the spring hardware, and the brake drum was warped. I took it back to Twins to have them look at the issue, but they gave me the classic "we couldn't hear the noise" line and sent me on my way. Twins guys, I still love you and I will absolutely continue to bring my car to you for oil changes and detailing. But please, leave the brake jobs to the specialists. If you need standard maintenance, they are great, but I cannot recommend them for brake work. Now I have to get new breaks from some place. read more

Drove to Lihue from north shore to get oil change at speedie oil because I called and they said that they do walk-ins... When I arrived, their system was down and they said it would be 3 to 4 hours! Called Midas and they said could be five hours! Asked if they had any recommendations in the area and they said no. Did my own research and found twin fast lube, booked my appointment online and within 10 minutes my car was in their shop getting an oil change. The staff was very professional and friendly. Nice covered waiting area out of the sun. Price was great, cheaper than the other shops I called who were going to charge me anywhere from 120 to 155... paid $107 here. My wife and met for lunch at Keoki's (excellent btw) and while eating in the parking lot my wife noticed a sign at an auto shop "Twins" for safety inspections. We both needed them and went after lunch. After a couple of minutes waiting, the twin with the mullet walked to me while on his phone, barely looked up and said "what do you need". I said that I need 2 safety inspections. First thing he says is "the first car won't pass and the second one will", I say um okay, he says the first cars front bumper won't pass because it's been modified. It had been modified, the lowest part of the facia had been cut but the structural portion was still intact. I said the beam is still there but he said "the state will fail it". Okay I say can we safety the second car then, yea he says pull it up here. I motion my wife to pull it up. Mullet twin reads the mileage, and checks the right window for tint. That was it, no horn, wipers, low beams, high beams, brake lights or reverse lights. He hands me the passed safety slip and I said you didn't check everything and he said "I looked at everything as the car pulled up". The wife and looked at each other and mentioned that he had never walked past the front door. I have been a tech for a long time and between the first and second cars I had mentioned to him that I owned an auto shop for 30 plus years . He lied to me telling me everything had been looked at while I was standing there the whole time. If he, knowing I am a tech and lied to me I have to wonder how truthful is he with you? read more

Booked an oil change and tire mount and balance. I waited in the office waiting room for 10+ minutes. Clerk came in and said they ran out of oil... (wtf#1) I wondered why they are taking "reservations for an oil change" if there is no oil!? I asked them to just do the tires then. She said they would rather do the oil change and mount the tires when they have oil... (wtf#2) I, again, asked them to just do the tires, I would change the oil some other time. The clerk disappeared. I waited another 5-10 minutes, she came back and said they won't mount the tires, no explanation, (and WTF!? #3) Complete waste of time. They will waste yours too. Dropped my car off to be fixed and the technician took it for a joy ride and smashed the oil pan. They did a poor cover up job and now my head gasket blew out and my cars not running and they won't repair it. They claim to do honest work yet they caused more damage to my car than there was when I originally brought it in to them!! And now I'm going to the fifth district court for a judge to render a decision. You couldn't pay me to go back to them! read more

I brought my car in for a shudder when I drove over a certain speed and Twins Auto was able to fix it at a time that worked for me. The work was efficient and good quality.
