Efficient, Affordable, and Fast! I would highly recommend Twins for your drywall repairs and painting needs. We contacted Twins to paint the fascia on the outside of the house. After Armando arrived, we asked him for an estimate on the painting the interior of the downstairs and the cabinets and repairing patches of drywall. This estimate was extremely fair and reasonable, so we elected to proceed with the jobs. As to the jobs, Twins showed up on time and promptly started working. Fascia - the painting of the fascia was easy. Armando matched the paint and took care of the job. Cabinets - rather than installing new cabinets, we elected to paint the existing ones to match the color of the floor that we had put in. The paint looks great and makes the kitchen look even better. This was an excellent decision that saved us on having to replace the cabinets. Interior painting - fast, efficient, and Twins took time to carefully wrap the surrounding furniture. Twins took care of moving the furniture and replacing it after the painting was finished. The living room has a high walls to the ceiling with a ledge (approximately 25 feet high), which Twins was able to do. I am more than delighted to share my wonderful experience with Twins Drywall and Paint Solutions. My search for finding someone to close off an upstairs loft to create a fourth bedroom began with calling some people who previously done work for me. Construction in Las Vegas is at an all time high, and everyone I knew had commitments ahead of them for weeks on end. We purchased the home to add the bedroom as a 'flip' opportunity and time was of the essence, so waiting was out. The interest, insurance, HOA and maintenance goes on while the house sits and adds costs thus reducing any hope for a nice profit. I felt that anyone qualified to do simple drywall and paint repairs could do the job, so being a contractor or not was not a deal-breaker, but would be nice. We pulled permits for the project and from that I learned there are very specific (and for me not thought of) requirements for adding a room. I quickly discovered it was necessary to mount the bottom plate for the studs directly to the sub-floor, rather than much easier, simply nail over the carpet. Had that been tried, we would have failed our first framing inspection, as the IBC (International Building Code) specifically deals with nailing over soft flooring and sets a soft density standard in their requirements. As I began to learn of these things, I quickly adjusted my thinking towards a truly qualified and licensed professional who understood the building code and could get the job done correctly. I apologize for the long testimonial, I'm simply trying to save a reader of this the embarrassment and costs of the huge mistakes I almost made by trying to do something like this, on the 'cheap'. The regular sources such as Craigslist and drive-by recruitment at the local big box building supply stores rendered little to help me. Notably, my quotes from them were within shooting range of my final bid from Twins, who is fully licensed, has testimonials and reviews, worker's comp insurance (Heaven forbid someone got hurt) and is truly qualified to do the work. While over the years I've occasionally used Day Labor from Home Depot and Lowe's successfully, after recently having a worker's comp (fortunately insured) that has thus far mounted in cost to over $70,000.00 (for a simple hand/knee injury), I am very cautions. And who knows under Trump's anti-immigration policies, the ramifications of hiring undocumented workers. By the way, the going rate for Day Labor is now $25.00 per hour, and that is always paid in cash at the end of each work day. More recently the Day Laborer now expects lunch at your expense, tambien (also). That is the equivalent of $35.00 per hour, if taxes and insurance had to be rolled in. When you hire a licensed contractor like Twins, all that is included in the final bid price that you pay. They provide the worker's comp coverage, and make sure their people earn a decent living wage, in the process. So I hope I've enlightened you about the perils and cost analysis, you'll agree that a licensed professional is a much wiser choice, even for small projects such as this. After using the modern choices for finding a contractor: Google, Home Advisor, Porch and Angie's List, I was truly impressed with the Home Advisor Platform. An easy app to download and install, easy to post your requirements and included a list of costs for similar projects and immediate results from their qualified list of professionals like Twins. (I got three in all from HA. They work on a cost per lead basis with their contractors, so they purposely limit the level of leads they provide, unless I request more) Armondo from Twins Drywall and Paint, was among the first to respond to my post by phone. He was available that afternoon to swing by and provide an estimate. He got back to me in a timely fashion with a mutually acceptable bid and began work the following Monday. The Twins actually turn out to be five brothers, all of Hispanic decent. All that I had contact with, probably four out of the five, were very pleasant and professional. Brother Abel was first on the job and I felt we were in great hands, immediately. He was meticulous in making sure that self-adhesive plastic floor covering insured that the entire work area and hallways leading to it were fully protected. Next, he used the covering material to use a Sharpie marker to draw out where the walls were to be installed, including the dividing wall, the 36" entry door and closet. This gave us a final opportunity to make any changes before we started cutting carpet and making impossible alterations. Abel, the eldest of five brothers was assisted by Art, who I understand to be the youngest. Art made the lumber cuts in accordance with Abel's instructions and the two worked in the harmony of a well oiled machine. It was amazing. They keep things clean. They can fix any drywall issue you have. They really do a thorough job. The easiest way to communicate with them is by text message or email as they are busy working and do not have an office staff. They do take phone calls, but it can be difficult for them to write stuff down if they are in the middle of drywalling someone's house. ---------- Old Review: I asked A. to come do a smallish job of repairing cracked drywall in my closet. THESE GUYS ARE A BLESSING! They came in with a team, they kept it as convenient as they could for us, they worked as quickly as they could, they kept it as clean as humanly possible for the amount of work they had to do, they were surprisingly quiet for the kind of work they had to do (dont get me wrong, some of the work HAD to get loud but nowhere near as much as I thought they would!) and they were extremely pleasant, polite, and the work itself is QUALITY! After each work day, they did their best to return the house to as-functioning as the remaining work made humanly possible (some areas HAD to remain taped off, but they kept it to the barest minimum and it was only one room for one day on two occasions). After having MANY holes in the walls due to plumbing repair on a two story, my house is whole again! And considering the amount of holes, it took only 4 days for ALL that work (interior AND exterior!) and was still a lower price than I expected. I would !!!!HIGHLY!!!! recommend them to everyone.
