Jacob Barnett is in love with Tai Chi and wants to share his passion with you…read more I came to Jacob as a physical rehabilitation patient, unable to move with any grace after a long, serious illness. He very patiently listened to my situation, helped me identify some specific goals and set a clear Intension. Full disclosure, I am a movement teacher myself and starting over from square one, so my standards are very high, yet in my position must be humble and begin anew. How lucky ( Luck? ) I was to find Jacob's his wonderfully intimate studio located in the Salem Opera House Building, and auspicious location with a deep sense of local history, it makes a perfect setting for the movement arts... a huge picture window allowing the beautiful clouds roll by as your glide around the well-worn, wooden floor. So much character in that place! Parking is a breeze, but do allow a few minutes for that. The Many Currents studio is located in downtown, so before or after class, there are endless things to see and do. The studio is on the 2nd floor, Attovia room 209. There's a bathroom, conveniently located just down the hall, and lovely natural light flooding in at every turn. One of the many benefits of Tai Chi and Chi Gong is how much joy it can bring to all aspects of life, outside of the classroom. Having suffered a set back had resulted obscuring that joy, but I cant help but feel safe, connected and positive in Jacob's warm presence. He is new to Salem so let's fill up the class room and make him feel as welcome as he'll make you feel about the addition of Tai Chi practice into your life.

No experience necessary Through regularly practicing this ancient art, a series of slow, circular, relaxed movements, combined with abdominal breathing, our internal energy (Chi) flow is immediately guided into a regenerative current, nourishing organs, glands and deep tissues. If you're curious about benefits of the world’s most practiced exercise form, now is your opportunity to experience T’ai Chi for yourself! Instructor: Jacob Barnett has been practicing Tai Chi since 1976; instructing since 1982, with an experiential emphasis on applying the form's essence to daily life; as a vehicle for health, personal development and resilience.
