I chose a large order of the boiled shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered the fish tacos with charo beans. We shared and it was plenty of food (maybe too much) for lunch. The shrimp was clearly fresh but seasoned with a taste I didn't care for, however my husband liked it fine. I covered up the taste with cocktail sauce. It must be a local preference. He told her about the steak and she quickly whisked it away. ~5 minutes later, someone delivered the new steak. My BF enjoyed the new steak, baked potato and salad. When we visited four years ago, we felt rushed. I felt rushed this time as well. Obviously, Tia Juanita's is doing very well. You can't swing a rope without seeing another TJ's in SETX. It's probably just not our jam. I like a nice meal without feeling rushed. I also prefer to eat with a proper fork and knife. I would, however, like for the manager to respectfully respond to negative reviews. They seem to respond to positive reviews only.
