Got takeout, ordered the meatball appetizer -- the pesto was absolutely delicious, but the meatballs were horribly burnt. I tasted one and could tell it would be delicious if it hadn't been dried out and burnt, but it was. Decided to go back the next day (Monday) to give it another chance in person, but it was closed? Double-checked the hours and found conflicting hours listed on Facebook, Google, Apple Maps, Yelp -- some say closed, some say open. Guess it's closed. Won't be going back. read more

I love the Twisted Goat ! As a local it's one of my staple restaurants where you can find good food, yummy desserts and a tasty drink. I know they buy their fish locally. It's a small restaurant and sometimes you have to wait a minute to get in but there is a great deck on the side to have a drink and wait by the fire pit. read more

I don't even want to give this place one star because they didn't even give us the chance to enjoy our evening! We were told we would be seated at a high top in 15 minutes, so we went up to the bar to order a drink and wait in front of two empty seats, which the owner immediately told us we could not sit there because they were reserved to which I said no Problem, we just want to order a cocktail. 28 minutes later as we watch our high top ready and waiting two ladies come in who are obviously the two that Are supposed to be seated at the bar, requested to have our high top instead and she gave it away. Meanwhile, we finally get seated at the bar, their seats, in a tight and hot environment. I ask why we didn't get the high top that we were promised and they said it is first come first serve but where were these two ladies while we waited twice the time we were promised for our high top?? I received a very rude response from the owner saying that it's first come first serve. and her waitress is a good and hard worker and I should not be mean to her. (which I wasn't) So the young girl who promised us the high top came to take our order and I asked her why she gave our table away and again she said it was first come first serve and I reminded her that that it sat empty while we waited beyond our 15 minutes and her response was... We had the combination pizza and it was delicious. The crust was crispy, the pepperoni and Italian sausage weren't greasy and the vegetables were fresh and crispy. Also had a Ceasar salad that had fresh crispy romaine and good quality Parmesan cheese. For dessert we had the coconut pecan oatmeal cake served warm with vanilla ice cream and it was sooooo good! My two 19 yr old boys ordered the fish and chips. They we served four one inch chunks of fish. Not even a full fillet which we expected. And then a mound of French fries. My wife and I had the Cioppino seafood dish. Disappointed with the fact that the seafood was a very small amount. One single piece of shrimp. Two very small pieces of fish. Four small clams. I really wanted to like this place because the employees in there were so wonderful. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed in the food. I ordered fish and chips and they should've called it fish nuggets. There were three small pieces of fish that were not more than 3 x 2" each, on top of a pile of shoestring fries that were not more than 2 inches long. I felt like I had an appetizer with a filler. My husband ordered the cioppino which is normally stocked with a bunch of seafood in a nice broth. There were two mussels, two clams, one shrimp and a couple of chunks of fish. It was really more a bowl of broth. We saw pasta go by that was a pile of noodles with three meatballs on the side. I'm assuming this is a local hang out and that the Alaskans have figured out that they should only order the pizza or the hamburgers so that they actually feel like they had a meal. I have been coming to the twisted goat since they first started up. (Back when they only did pizzas and salads) I have never received anything bad there! Staff is always friendly. Service is always prompt(even when they are busy) and the atmosphere is laid back casual. Menu may be on the smaller side but I prefer a smaller menu. Amateur Hour... Had the cioppino. Flavor was good but seafood was light. 2 clams, two shrimp, two mussels, and rock fish. One of my mussels did not open. Brought it to the attention of the serving team and they said "that happens. They are frozen." No addition, no compensation... nada. Just a closed mussel shell on the plate. We landed in Homer right as a fog fell on the town. We scrambled to get our bearings and find a place for dinner. We picked Twisted Goat because we like goat and pizza sounded good. I cannot say enough positive things about how great this place is. We are so grateful we found it! Everyone from the hosts to the busers was welcoming to us. We are obvious tourists but were treated like cherished guests. And the FOOD was fabulous. I ordered a sour on tap and it was the best thing ever. The Caesar Salad was huge and tasty...good thing the waitress suggested we share. The pizza was unique and a perfect ratio of delicious toppings. That cheese! The only problem was that we ordered too much food and couldn't try one of their remarkable sounding desserts. But the upside is we have lunch for today! I'm super bummed this didn't work out. The food looked great but I was so irritated with an interaction with the manager (I think) after a minor mistake by the hostess we decided to leave before ordering. It goes like this: We put our name and number on the waitlist for a four top table. We offered to sit at the bar IF it meant we didn't have to wait (there was space there at that moment) but the hostess chose not to seat us there for some reason so we went outside to wait for the table. 30 minutes later the hostess sat the party who had arrived after us at a four top then returned to get us to seats at the bar!? This left us confused as to why we got seated second, at the bar and at seats that had been open when we first arrived. It didn't make sense, so I politely brought it up with the hostess and asked why we didn't get a four top. The manager overheard the conversation and immediately interjected with all the reasons why it got mixed up and said we could wait for the next table or sit at the bar. The perplexing thing is she came off pretty rude and unapologetic. No bedside manner at all. Since the table that was opening was a six top, which I assumed would be a waste to use as a four top, I said we would sit at the bar. My wife disagreed and asked to be sat at the table, and the manager then essentially rolled her eyes at us and made it a big deal to move us. Bottom line is I felt pretty disrespected and ignored. So much so that We considered leaving, despite having had waited. Instead of storming out and pouting I decided to speak to the manager again the waitress made a comment that indicated the manager had already told her side of the story to the waitstaff!!! I'm not an angry person, or particularly difficult, but damn this lady blew me off, never expressed any apology, fed me a long list of excuses, then complained to her waitstaff about us being difficult. I would've settled for a simple "hey you know what? We screwed up. Sorry about that. How about we get you a four top prepared?, it won't be a big deal at all" read more

Our favorite restaurant in Homer! We tried talking ourselves out of going a second time but weren't successful - however, when we arrived for lunch, realized that they weren't open - second meal at Twisted Goat foiled! We stopped in for dinner and were immediately seated in the small dining room. We chose the Root Beer and Ginger Beer drinks to start. The Ginger Beer was so gingery, it almost hot but really good. The Root Beer was strong but smooth. For dinner, we got the Pasta with Alfredo and Grilled Shrimp. It was the bomb! It was the best pasta I've had in a long time. My partner and I kept taking turns eating it along with the Cioppino that I got. There was a smidgeon of pasta left over that we took home with us. When they say a heaping bowl, they mean it. We finished with the Coconut, Pecan brownie with ice cream. It was subtly spicy with coconut and pecans and just decadent. We were so full when we left. We recommended the Twisted Goat to everyone on our boat the next day and will keep it on our list for the next time we're in Homer. read more

Absolutely outstanding! My husband and I visit Homer AK every year now. While visiting our adult children and grand baby, we eat at many of the local restaurants. There were two that got a second visit during our two week stay this year. Twisted Goat was one of them. We dined in on our first visit. We were seated on the patio on one of Alaska's finest days of the summer. They had a nice patio umbrella to keep the sun out of our eyes. We had a larger group of 6 which included a demanding 12 month old. The waitress was really on top of it. She really did an amazing job keeping everything coming drinks, appetizers, and the main courses. We had a variety of food which included salads, pizzas, and steak. Everything was absolutely amazing! The star of the show was dessert. I know they do change it up some, but we had a cobbler and coconut cake. Very very delicious with a little ice cream on the side. It was so delicious that one evening when we didn't feel like rounding everyone up to go out again, we just ordered some take out. One of our family members made the drive in from Anchor Point to pick it up, and bring it back home. This meal was just as good as the one we had at the restaurant. The quality of the food is absolutely amazing! The only problem is their pizza has ruined all other pizza for my husband. He compares all other pizza to The Twisted Goat. Thanks guys! The space is a really cute spot, they're open late, and the food is so tasty. The downside? Service is only so so. The first night we went there were two girls that seemed really engaged with everyone and even remembered us when we came back. The waitress helping us the second time just didn't seem to care much. Never asked how the food was, she seemed to expect we'd have out entire food and drink menu ready as soon as we sat down, part of our order went through another girl because she never bothered coming back, and she never bothered to clarify things with us about our order so we ended up not getting what we wanted. We came here yesterday about 7:30pm ish and it took a few minutes to be seated, relatively quick considering the amount of people already there. We both ordered the steak and we cleaned our plate ! One of the best steaks we've had in awhile. Server was friendly and quick. We also loved the Second Gentleman didn't get any names but he was memorable because of his sweet personality and kind smile. We also had the molten lava cake with ice cream and coconut oatmeal ? Cake. We cleaned that up too. We didn't plan on coming here at first but the first choice was closed. We are so glad we ended up here instead. This may be a controversial take, but during our last visit to Homer I discovered Twister Goat and have to report: The pizza is better than Fat Olive's. We learned this was the former Pizza Underground and were excited to try a new spot, as we visit Homer each summer from Anchorage and love how much of a foodie town it is. We called in a take away order for dinner, and it was ready in 20 minutes (wow!). We stay at the Driftwood RV park, so this is a short 5 minute drive and the order was ready when I walked in. We tried a 12" BBQ chicken pizza and it was perfectly cooked - crisp crust, solid wood fire marks on the bottom and cooked consistently and completely all the way through, without being burnt. I was delighted, because nothing beats a perfectly cooked pizza to make any campfire meal a bit easier. While I was picking up our order, I snuck a peak at some of the diners enjoying their meals - steamer clams and steak looked delicious, and I can't wait to return to try them. Cheers! read more

Welcoming and delicious. We, a party of 3, were looking for pizza on our last night in Homer. We showed up and we felt welcome - huge points for that. Sat down at the bar with our teen (no age restrictions) and were super happy with the server and menu options. The servers seem happy to work there. Ordered the meatballs (tender meaty and delicious), a bbq pizza (yum) and the alfredo pasta with shrimp. The pizza is thin crust and yummy (not Neapolitan style) and the menu is clever and easy to read. Toppings were smart -- delicious but not overly fancy. The pasta was pricey but delicious. Love the pasta options on the menu. I would add veg additions like mushrooms and sun-dried tomato. Shrimp were a good value add -- plentiful and delicious. Wine options were great and the pours were reasonable / well-priced. Desserts looked great -- did not partake. Would definitely return. Came here for a fam dinner with the grandparents and all apps and entrees were amazing. Had the fried pickles to start that were perfectly crispy with homemade sauce and the Buffalo shrimp was divine too- gramps had as entree and loved it, steak was tender and cooked as requested, pizza was def a must the crust and sauce was delish, hubs had the ragu with meatballs and oldest the mac and cheese - salad came with a homemade ranch that was amazing. Cioppino tasted great but only 2 mussels, 2shrimp and a small piece of fish. No scallops or clams. Perhaps it's because I ordered at 8:30 on a Tuesday and they were out? But it was amazing and I'd order it again. I'd already had a few bites before the pic. Wife's strip steak, med rare, potatoes and asparagus was perfect. Wait staff was great as well. Our second time visiting Homer but our first time at the Twisted Goat,... wish we'd found it last year! Excellent service, they cheerfully accommodated our large party late in the afternoon with no reservations. The servers were friendly and attentive, and best of all, THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!!!! We had the Buffalo shrimp and goat cheese balls appetizers, you can't go wrong with either! The pasta dishes we had were very delectable and the pizza selection was amazing. Best pizza I've had in Homer, and being a classic guy, I had the meat lovers and could not have enjoyed it any more.
