Visiting from Arizona, we tried Eskinita for dinner since we were craving street food. Can I just…read moresay--this is the authentic Filipino street food I've been looking for and missing from the Philippines. Like omg. Their suka (vinegar) and sweet sauce are the best I've had in a while--I literally drank the sauce like it was soup. Soooo freaking good! I'm not even being OA, you really have to try it to believe it. Even my husband said it takes you right back to memories of street food in the Philippines. And did I mention--you get to choose whatever you like and grill it yourself outside, right in front of their store. Ahhh. I honestly can't put into words how happy and satisfied I am. One thing's for sure--I'll be back as soon as we visit San Diego again. I miss it already though.

This Filipino street food is so authentic that it's actually on the street!…read more Well.....not the "street" street, but the grills ARE outside in the parking lot of this strip mall block. You can grill the skewers yourself. On top of that, this place is only open in the evening and only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Joints like this are a main reason why I started writing reviews in the first place. I tried the pork, pork belly, blood curd, and chicken feet. It was all delicious, and the bbq sauce they're using was also amazing. I was worried that the chicken feet would be a tad dry like this, but it was surprisingly soft and tasty. Next, I ordered some sisig. In the past, I've had sisig that I thought was dry also, but this was like....a swamp. It was pungent. I would've thought it was too salty if it weren't for all the onion, scallions, and rice. The umami was divine. Finally, as someone addicted to fruit teas, I enjoyed chugging the apple tea and lemon tea. Anyways, Rick you're worried about negative reviews with this review average?!? LOL. 4.8 on Yelp and 4.9 on Google maps? I guess the only direction the average can go is down. What kind of war crimes does a restaurant commit to achieve this? Hey guys, Rick threatened me by saying the bottom of my pillow would be warm and my soda would be shaken if I didn't leave a five star review. If you see a cringe TikTok of me saying the food is good, I am actually under duress. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego so far.

This was the absolute best brunch I've ever had. We collectively got the gluten-free French toast,…read morea breakfast bowl, and their house-made gluten-free bagel, and it was divine. We also took home some baked goods. It's so hard to find gluten-free French toast and baked goods that are actually good, and these were UNBELIEVABLE. You would never guess they were gluten-free. The vibe was cute and laid back and the service incredible. Despite the fact that it was very busy, the food came out really quickly. I will absolutely head back down to IB just to come here again. 10/10 recommend.

I tried their farmer's sandwich and chose a jalapeño cheddar bagel. On it was sausage, bacon, egg,…read morecream cheese and red onion, and it was awesome. The egg was perfect! They also have a young man who plays jazz piano there every Sunday, so the ambiance is pretty awesome along with the nice weather. Sometimes it can get windy so bring a sweater, but otherwise, it's usually a really nice day to hang out with friends and family. I also had a matcha ginger thyme latte with oat milk which was just tasty since ginger is a rare flavor in coffee drinks. I loved it, and it was so good that I took an extra one home. The service is amazing, and on busy days you may have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. If you have any questions about a dish, don't hesitate to ask!

We had him as a server one time before as well, he's always been a great server and greatly helps us. We usually get the Brussels Sprouts and Balsamic Chicken salad, those are always so delicious and a great way to eat healthy! Last Friday we also got some of their new items, the calamari and clam chowder. They were both very good and we would get them again too! The Imperial Beach location is very pretty and beautiful. Both the inside and outside seating are great! They even have some warmers for outside seating as well.

The food is incredibly delicious. We took friends (one who is a picky chef), and he loved every bite. The views are breathtaking because you're literally facing the ocean if you sit out in the patio. We ordered what felt like everything from the menu: the dumplings, calamari, sweet chili wings, Margherita pizza, royal Hawaiian pizza, and the med sampler. They did not disappoint! Every bite was flavorful. Lexi, our server, was so patient, kind and really took care of us. When we first got there, my friend wanted shade and I wanted sun. Lexi was sweet enough to combine two tables so we could have the best of best worlds. For drinks, the boys had beer at $3 off the regular price, and I tried their Spa Day cocktail. It was not as refreshing as it sounded, but it was still quite delicious. My friend opted for the house white and loved it. Overall, Sammy's Happy Hour exceeded our expectations. Between the views, food, and amazing service, we will definitely be returning.
