Red Curry
Athavi J.

Service was excellent, quick in and out for a no-hassle casual meal. I got the drunken noodle with tofu and it was like 3.5/5. Though all the right ingredients were included, it was lacking depth. My friend got the red curry with shrimp (4/5) and that was comforting for a chilly night. Decor was homey and casual.

Dine in | Dinner | $10-20 First time eating at a place that was recommended from the Gluten-free community, and it was not intimidating. Food was fantastic. Nothing labeled Gluten-free on the menu, but the waiter told me exactly what was Gluten-free, what could be modified, and what was off limits. Small place, but very relaxed atmosphere. Had this at Dinner yesterday. Would definitely recommend and go back for. However, I'm confused about the 93.0 (A) rating - maybe it was an off day when the inspector came? Because the food was delicious.

Red curry with chicken for lunch!

Stopped by for lunch today. I had the red curry with chicken and it was great! The salad and spring roll were also tasty but beautifully presented. The waiter was kind and attentive but not invasive. My meal came quickly too. The restaurant is nicely decorated and Spotless! with a beautiful saltwater fish tank too Other dishes served at other tables looked appetizing and I'm planning on coming back!

We ordered the Tom Kha which was really good, Tom Yum that was not as good unfortunately. We also ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. Overall I will say the food is alright. Service very nice and attentive. The place is nice inside.

On the way to RDU I stopped at Twisted Noodles to get my Thai food fix. It was about 2pm on a Friday and the restaurant was empty. I was seated quickly and was able to get my order in nearly as quickly as I sat down! I ordered pad kea mow, with chicken. It was good, but not the best Thai food I have had in NC or ever. This said, if I was in the area, would eat here again to try other menu items.

Love the drunken noodle here! Best in the area. They only have one server so if you are in a hurry and cannot wait then go somewhere else.

I have eaten here many times and have NEVER had a bad dish. Honestly, an underrated gem in Durham. The noodle bowls are wonderful and the mango dessert is amazing. Today when I called to ask about if the coconut noodle soup had any pork broth, garlic, or onion (things I have to avoid or I will get sick), I could hear a man on the other end of the call being very rude towards me and the girl asking about the ingredients on my behalf. Stuff like this is what steers people with intolerances away from eating out or asking more information about the food we might want to buy. I didn't want a recipe as he suggested, I simply wanted to know if it had anything that is a common allergies or intolerance. Even when I provided the specific things I have issues with, this man continued to be rude. He had an attitude and was saying, "it's coconut" with a rude tone, as if I was dumb for asking if it has any type of broth in the soup. Meanwhile, many restaurants can make soups with chicken broth and other broths and it still be "coconut" or another flavor so I found that really aggravating. Food is a five a star but the man with the attitude bumped it down to three. 4/20: In response to owner's response-- Let's remember that people can develop food intolerances and allergies as they get older. I was having consistent issues before because I did not know what foods gave me issues and pain. However, now I know and am trying to be careful with what I eat. Additionally, recipes can change over time, just like people and their health. I was just asking and you were very dismissive and rude to both me and your staff.

The ambience is beautiful and cozy, and the customer service was so warm and attentive. We sat upstairs in the izakaya during happy hour (Tuesday). The standout for me was the crispy tofu bao bun. The sauce in it was SO good, I honestly wish I had ordered more, especially since it was only $4. We also tried oysters for the first time (they were around $1.50-$1.99 during happy hour), and they were surprisingly delicious. We tried a few grilled skewers, shrimp, eggplant, and tofu, which were good, but not my absolute favorites of the night. The best was the egg sando. It might sound simple, but it was incredible, honestly tasted just like the ones I had in Japan, if not better. And the fries?? Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. There's not a ton of seating, but we got a table quickly. The service was quick, and even though the place was small, it felt more cozy than cramped. I liked having the menu on the wall! They had two vegan options, and my partner & I both got the Biang Biang noodles. It was good, and perhaps even better the next day (the serving was big enough that I couldn't finish it). My sister got the Jjajiang Mian & absolutely loved it. This was a very positive experience, but not mindblowing--I think that the hype around the "M" restaurants perhaps raised my expectations a bit too much. It's also possible that their non-vegan options are stronger than their vegan options. Overall, though, very yummy, the prices are very reasonable for Durham ($16 for the Biang Biang noodles), and I would come back & try the veggie curry if given the chance.

I was disappointed however when they told me they are currently out of the vegan udon curry dish, which was 1/2 items I could eat. Nevertheless, I ordered the other dish, Biang Biang Noodles. While the noodles were well cooked and packed with flavor, I felt that the dish was far too oily and without much tofu/protein. Perhaps the other meals are less oily and more protein packed, but for being the only vegan option available that day, unfortunately this is all I have to offer at this time.
