Bad customer service the lady is rude! The food is disgusting and it's super expensive for the quality and amount of food you're given. We've been eating here since they took over and got to know their whole family over time. We're moving to Greensboro so I feel the need to write a review. Panda Garden has been one of our go-to places for years. Always reasonable and delicious. A step above all other strip mall Chinese places. Hands down the best Lo Mein in the area. Trust me on this. I'm a noodle freak. They're always helpful, courteous, and friendly. Egg Drop, Wonton, and Hot & Sour soups are always on point. Fantastic Pork Dumplings steamed or fried. Very good Egg Rolls. We get Sweet & Sour Chicken and Sesame Chicken a lot as they never disappoint. I'm going to miss having them 5 minutes away. I wish them all the best. Try them, you won't be disappointed. read more

This has been my local go to quick Chinese joint for more than 20 years so I've eaten lots of stuff on the menu. I find their non-breaded chicken items to be the best they have to offer. Subgum Wonton is also a family favorite. I appreciate that they are willing to adjust anything on the menu within reason - milder for a spicy dish, add brocolli, etc. Just ask and they will try to accommodate you. read more

I was told that Panda Garden existed here so I came here immediately before a flight!!!! I ordered a combination plate of sesame chicken with pork fried rice + a small side of beef and broccoli to-go. I waited maybe about 10 minutes? This was exactly what I wanted. The food was really hot and tasted fresh. I'm very happy! My first experience here was great. Hopefully it stays the same c: Ill be coming back here, for sure. read more

Totally fine. It's just your run-of-the-mill American Chinese strip mall place, so no reason to judge it on any higher standard. Sesame chicken is fine, Singapore mai fun is fine, moo shu pork is above average and decent hot and sour soup. I've never eaten in and the place is not terribly clean looking but it's at a good price point and has never made me sick. Lunch specials were like 4.50 when I first went in 2004 but now they are like 8 bucks so that's a drag. Oh well. read more

You're right around the corner from our house, but I just can't love you and that makes me sad. :-/ Our go-to for Americanized Chinese comfort food has long been China Wok in Carrboro.... which was great when I worked in that area. But now that I'm no longer there, I needed to find a new place to get our takeout fix. Unfortunately this is not it. The crab rangoons were pretty good. We have been getting take-out @ Panda Garden for almost 10 yrs. Great food and great prices. Family owned business and always very nice. Their egg rolls are delicious. Very light instead of a doughy wrap of grease like I've had in some restaurants. We always get the Medium Chicken w/ mixed vegetables and order the noodles instead of rice. It's so much food (a lot of chicken) what my husband and I have it for two meals!! Their protection for COVID is outstanding. read more

It is all grease and cheap food. Good for drunk college students, but not for anyone else. Everything taste the same. The food is pretty terrible. If it isn't something like a frozen egg roll it is some sort of Chinese noodle fried in grease followed up with some cheap meat. Just dont do it it. Please dont. I'm a fan of chicken w garlic sauce, and Panda's is not spicy at all - just a heavy garlic flavor. Bonus points for not overwhelming the dish with mushrooms like so many other Chinese places. I love this place for a quick meal. The dishes I usually get are chicken and snow pea in a white sauce, egg drop soup, and pork fried rice. The white sauce is clear and delicate with great flavor. The soup is usually a perfect mix of yolk and egg white. I've had more flavorful pork fried rice... perhaps it needs onion or more onion. You can order dishes as small, medium, and large which drives the price down- for me. They make everything while you wait. Friendly but don't speak a lot which is fine. No home made sauces. Unless you're starving and all other places are closed you may check this out. All flavors are the same, no matter what dish you order it tastes the same. Best Chinese in the area. Prices are reasonable, and service is pretty fast(usually less than fifteen minutes). They have had some off nights, but for cheap Chinese its still pretty good. We usually stick to our classic favorites sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli, and the crab rangoon. They always package everything in cut out cardboard boxes which is actually a great idea since everything is always nice and hot. It also makes cleanup easy. Good deal for the money if you are having that chinese food craving. read more

I've always been a fan of this place! Their lo mein is classic and doesn't give any unpleasant surprises but very good. The highlight on the menu is their fried chicken wings. The restaurant is run by really hard working young people who are working hard with smiles on their faces and make very fresh food. Tonight I placed an order and walked away to the grocery store when I came back the order was ready and the owner apologized because the sweet sour shrimp that I ordered I guess according to him comes with 11 shrimp but he only had 10 left and he offered me a dollar bill for the missing shrimp. This speaks volumes for a business, I would have not known the difference but he put himself on the line for one missing shrimp and offered me money for it which of course went into the tip jar. This place is everything wrong with Chinese food. The lunch specials have crept up to $8.10. Yet the food is lower quality than most. I got the pork lo mein. The pork piece were either small or fatty. The egg role is smaller and was burnt to a crisp. The rice was only thing they did not ruin. The food was terrible. We threw out most of it. Greasy, stale tasting food. Staff were unfriendly and rude to us.

The food was good, but not great. The broth for the wonton soup was bland, but the wontons were large, with generous filling, and they tasted great. The hot and sour soup was quite good. The egg rolls were above average--lots of filling. The fried dumplings were terrific, the best part of the meal. Finally, the house special lo-mein was under-sauced and didn't have much flavor. I've never written a review before. I feel like it's necessary in this case. I've ordered from Panda Garden a half dozen times over the course of a year. On two occasions, it was quite good. On three occasions it was just ok, bordering on not great. Tonight, however, is the last time I order. I ordered General Tso's combination platter. It was terrible. My first bite, I felt something grind against my teeth. I thought, eh, that was gross, but I'm hungry. I ate a bit more, and several bites in it happened again. It felt like a shard of glass, or a shell of some sort. Harder than gristle... I don't know what it was. I don't think it was actually glass, or a shell. But it was just weird, and gross. Also, it tasted like the oil in the fryer was in extreme need of changing. Not only that, but the eggroll tasted off, and it was just your average, mass produced, eggroll. Hard to mess up. I barely ate, I'm still hungry, and I'm disappointed. My dog is also disappointed. read more

Tried Panda Garden for the first time tonight. My takeout order was prepared quickly and correctly, and tasted great. I got the healthy chicken and mixed vegetables for my wife, who described or as nice and fresh, and my broccoli beef was excellent. Been there over 5 times. It's a mixed bag. Moo Shu and Chicken Curry is actually pretty good. But the other dishes (Kung Pao, Garlic, etc) are often swimming in sauce. And if you ask for extra spicy don't expect it to be spicy. Soups are pretty good. Without a doubt, the WORST chinese food I've ever had! Kung Pao chicken was ALL celery and carrots. Counted 5 peanuts but they up for it with unsavory, white starchy sauce. No spice. Chicken was rubbery with bits of gristle and full of fat. Sweet and sour soup had a funky cabbage smell. Rice was served in a flat styrofoam plate and wet and clingy. Oh my. This was probably the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I was hesitant upon entering the restaurant when I noticed that the floor wasn't very clean, but I was pressed for time, and gave it a try. The staff person at the register was very rude and seemed to be bothered that we wanted to place an order. A special request about the soup was met with a sigh and "k." No smile or thank you. Okay- we all have a bad day now and then, so not a huge deal breaker. But the food.... Soup was bland and a little oily. Even soy sauce did little to enhance the flavor. Rice was undercooked. Veggies were almost raw- NOT crisp-tender like most places. Lobster sauce was greyish and not tasty- but shrimp was okay. Pepper steak beef was rubbery. Sauce was okay, but peppers and onions were actually crunchy. No, thank you. Utensils, napkins and condiments were stored in styro cups and plastic drawers. Messy and not entirely sanitary. The person I was with actually wanted to warn people coming in - that they shouldn't eat there. I wrote this review instead. read more
