    Beef Brisket Sandwich
    Ray N.

Came here during lunch for a staff birthday. Since I arrived before everyone, I got a chance to look at the menu for a good amount of time. So many things I wanted to try! And I've been here a few times and always enjoyed their food. For today, J got the beef brisket sandwich with fries. I thought the meat was cooked nicely. Very large pieces stacked with grill onions. There is a bit of fat on some of the brisket. When you bite into the brisket, it usually doesn't separate easily so I notice I was eating and swallowing large pieces. There is Cole slaw and BBQ sauce on the side along with pickles. I thought that sandwich was delicious and I pretty much ate the whole thing. Went back to work feeling sleepy and full. There was only one waitress who worked the bar and took everyone's order. Took awhile for us to get our order in (one hour lunch) so that's the only gripe I had was after we got our drinks, it took awhile for our waitress to get our orders. Everyone enjoyed their meal..: a few got the Mac and cheese. Another the sriracha Brussel sprouts. Definitely a place I would go back!

Another Sunday Brunch review for 2. You could call this Big Back addition because there were no true healthy vegetables in sight. The flavors and combinations of how they made their sauce for the brussels sprouts. The little bit of cheese, the roasting, just perfectly. Those Brussels spouts were man. Oh, man, so so good. I mean, I was surprised there were any left at the end of lunch because they were so good. Then there was the deep fried pickles. Pickles are just something that you have to either love Em or you hate Em. But deep fried pickles are just that sour taste that I just have to have. I have to have a sweet and a sour and pickles are just that for us. So we enjoyed them. They were just crispy enpugh on the outside with just a nice firm bite of the pickle, tender. And then that bitterness was really good. And then our main meal came, and there is enough food on that platter for two people to share. So if you're getting it for one, you better be a hearty guy like you gotta be a lumberjack guy to eat this all by yourself. Because this is like a platterful. There is like 6 ribs on that plate, 2 mouds of the pulled pork, 2 big huge scoops of macaroni n cheese and like a bag of those tater tots, then they drizzle, drizzle, drizzle, barbecue sauce. All over it, it was just like mouthwatering. When it hit the table. It smelled so good, it was just amazing. And then we just dove in a little bit, tried this a little bit of that, the ribs fell off the bone. It was so good. Now the restaurant is small and looks like it is a locals kinda spot so it is semi loud with sports and men chopping it up, but there were ladies sitting at various tables and a couple of families so it is semi family friendly if you dont mind the bar aspect that is bigger than the eating area in my opinion. We only seen one staff member on the floor and one behind the bar while we were there, but the service was quick and the ladies were attentive so it was a good experience. The decor needs an update and it had a 4 out of 5 vibe for me, but I rate food not people so I would go back for that.

The server is great it's just the food, when you're paying 20 dollars for a burger. You would expect that the burger fresh. When the boss burger hit my table looks so sad and the patty was tried looks, taste just like a frozen mass produced patties. I know this is a bar, atleast make the food fresh. I had to use ketchup to consume the burger and the tots is so hard. Nothing here worth 20dollars.

Came to Twisted Pig Bar and Grill for a weekday dinner date and enjoyed the meal! Located along Coffee Road, Twisted Pig serves BBQ in a spacious bar with outdoor covered seating. It's perfect for hangouts with large groups. We ordered: Pigpen - This offers the most variety as you get 6 ribs, stacked like Lincoln logs and containing a mound of tater tots, mac n cheese and pulled pork. Each item was super good, but the tater tots did end up getting soggy from soaking up the mac n cheese. Mcbelly crispy pork belly sandwich - This sounded good on the menu, but ended up being a little too crispy for me personally. It did come with a huge helping of pork belly though. I also got this with a side Caesar as I needed some sort of green to offset all the bbq lol. Salad was great! Brisket sandwich - This was a bit on the dry side and needed more sauce/slaw. Rum & Coke - The SO said this was a good pour and enjoyed his drink. Service was standard. The lady who helped us was super nice and checked on us in a timely manner/provided us things as needed. Overall, we had a good dinner and a ton of leftovers. Wouldn't mind coming back to try some other items.

Dip Tip sandwich au jus with potato salad side

The Twisted Pig Bar and Grill in Modesto was our meet up place April 2. My wife and I met with her son to have a celebratory lunch for his birthday. To this spot of his choice , he drove an hour from the north and we drove our 125 miles from the south. The large u-shaped bar was medium busy, as was the dining area, and both were pleasantly and efficiently served by a friendly and helpful lady named Amy. This review is for the food service only as we did not partake of the libations being mixed and served nearby. My wife ordered the Dip Tip sandwich au jus, with potato salad for her included side. The sandwich was very good and the tri tip within was not dry as reported in some reviews. The jus made it even juicier. The potato salad, we all agreed was the star of the show. Don't miss it. Her son ordered the Boss Burger, and as you can see, it was huge. "DELICIOUS", he proclaimed. He had cole slaw which contained apple slices as his included side. After a short and helpful discussion with our server. I chose the Cuban Sandwich, as the "Cubano" when made traditionally, is my favorite sandwich in the world. This one, although billed as "traditional " didn't really qualify for that description. It was a good sandwich but not a good Cuban. I enjoyed it anyway. My side was a nicely made Caesar salad. We shared a bowl of delicious onion rings made with a nice light batter as opposed to the thick rock hard batter served In most places. We had a fun time with good food and service. If you haven't yet, try out The Twisted Pig. BTW, I love the name!

Fabulous food and service! It doesn't matter who is your bartender, you'll always have a great time and eat fantastic food!

Cute bar , it was open seating. The service was pretty fast! We ordered the pig pen and the tri tip sandwich! 11/10! Everything was really delicious! The flavors of. Both plates were immaculate!

Love hanging out at "The Pig" Casual comfortable atmosphere for any occasion, lunch, after work cocktails, dinner and an evening nightcap! Food is always fresh and tasty. Jess is a fantastic bartender whose energy and good vibes welcome you while she always strives in making our experience a great one, she's attentive and goes the extra mile to ensure a great experience as a repeat customer!

The food, two thumbs up! I know it's is odd to come to a barbq place looking for fish and chips but it came up in my Yelp search and thought I would give it a shot. I was not disappointed, will recommend this place but I will say this....we almost walked out, it is a seat yourself kind of place so make sure to get their attention! But, once they saw us it was all gravy! The servers were friendly and attentive. I will be coming back, maybe on Tuesday for the line dancing!

Wife was at work so kids brought me here for lunch in a rainy Saturday. It had been quite a while since I had been here. They were busy but service was fast and friendly. I got a bacon infused smash cheeseburger with fries. The fries were excellent and the cheeseburger absolutely huge and delicious. The cheese was a battered block of cheddar which I have never had before that made this taste like a grill cheeses sandwich inside an Hamburger very tasty and cool. We also had appetizers of pretzels which were of but a cheese stick but instead of regular batter they were Chinese style wrapper which was very interesting and quite good. I tried some of my daughter's au Jue dip sandwich and that was also very tasty. 4.5 service 4.5 for the food 4.5 for the ambiance

Kitchen Sink Burger, McBelly Bomb, Twisted Mac
    Alycia D.

Overall the place was busy! A bar & dine in restaurant. They offer a variety of beers & mixed drinks. The BBQ & Burgers & appetizers all look and smell amazing. The service is very attentive. The mcbelly bomb which was tender & flavorful. The kitchen sink burger has crispy onion rings & cheese curds. My only complaints: The twisted mac was not worth it! The cheese sauce is very bland and doesn't taste like real cheese. Order anything else but the Mac n cheese! The bathrooms are unisex and don't have urinals, so drunk people from the bar are missing the toilets. Other than that the food and drinks are good!

    Brussels sprouts

I came for the tots and ended up taking myself on a whole solo lunch date because they're THAT good. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, addictive little bites of happiness. And the Brussels sprouts?? I was not prepared. Sweet, savory, crispy perfection -- officially my new favorite. Twisted Pig never disappoints. 10/10 recommend treating yourself the way I just did.

First time at this place! My fiancé and I were burning some time before a movie and came here for a quick bite. We went on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty dead. Walking in it's more of a bar feel, we sat outside which I thought had a fun vibe to it. For the drinks we had their bloody Mary's which weren't too bad. Not sure if it was the ice but it had a slight flavor that resembled a tap water / freezer burned ice taste. For food, I ordered the tri tip sandwich, menu said it was slow smoked for 3/hrs which made me choose it. I selected tater tots as a side to switch it up from the normal French fries I typically order. Let me say- The tots were sooo CRISPY Crunchy!!which I loved. As far as the tri tip I was a bit disappointed as it seemed pretty dry, thankfully the BBQ sauce helped with that. My fiancé ordered the Dip Tip, which he also stated was dry and wasn't sure he'd like it much without the a jus. Service was great, food was okay- however I'd go back to try a few different items to see.

The food here is absolutely worth the drive…read more I'm a little late posting this review, but we ordered from here for our Fourth of July celebration, and it was one of the best decisions we made. We traveled from Modesto, and after trying the food, I'd gladly make that trip again. Whether you're planning a special gathering or just looking for a reason to take a quick drive for incredible barbecue, this place is worth it. If you're dining in, the shady outdoor seating is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy your meal, and the welcoming atmosphere. We ordered enough to feed about 15-16 people, and every single person left happy. That's saying a lot because we have some pretty picky eaters in our family! The ribs were tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, while the mac and cheese quickly became the crowd favorite. You can tell there's real care and attention behind every dish...the flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and everything tastes homemade with its own unique touch. The staff was welcoming and friendly from start to finish, making the whole experience even better. Great barbecue has a way of bringing people together, and this meal did exactly that. Between celebrating the holiday and seeing everyone go back for seconds, it made our Fourth of July even more memorable.

Whiff of this place to and from Stan State, most definitely worth a try or twelve!

So, the Tuesday Feast for 2 special brought us back. In addition, they have a hamburger special for $6.00 and $10.00 if you would like a side. We particularly enjoyed the mac and cheese, which was as good as I remember, and the brisket was very tasty. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to substitute mac and cheese instead of fries for both of our meals. Additionally, the ribs were a hit with my family, and the bread pudding had excellent flavor and consistency. I enjoyed it very much, while he thought it was too soggy. However, there were a few areas where we felt the experience could be improved: - The Burger: I ordered my burger medium-well, (as I like no pink, but not burnt) but it arrived heavily charred and blackened, which was quite noticeable and disappointing. - The Sides: The baked beans and coleslaw did not meet their expectations. They were "just ok". Additionally, the corn on the cob was overcooked and soggy. - Portioning: We ordered the "Feast for Two," which is noted to serve 2-3 people, yet it only includes two cornbread muffins. We would suggest including a third muffin to better accommodate the group size mentioned. - Dessert Quality: While we enjoyed the bread pudding and the sauce, the ice cream served with it was freezer-burned with large ice chunks.

Well if you are living in Modesto , and have been looking for real BBQ and I mean REAL GOOD BBQ .. then my strawberry stand being closed sent me down 132 , so drove a bit further to take Dakota Ave. home .... And on the side of the road as we turned from 132 were wind flags calling me to stop and look around BBQ .. there to my left a small orange trailer just beyond a huge smoker .. to the trailer we went an array of BBQ fair listed on menu board ... now I have been looking for good bbq in Modesto for some time, and in my opinion There has been none since "My Sisters Kitchen " closed, there some good BBQ people serving the community, but seems to me no one really stood above the rest .. until now Biggityo's BBQ on Dakota Ave. we purchased 1/2 pound brisket and a full rack of pork ribs and a small Mac &cheese. WOW incredible? The brisket was flavorful tender and a generous 1/2 lb for sure, came with a small container of BBQ sauce sauce was good , nice spice but as my wife said not necessary... the meat was that good on its own. The Ribs , shiny meaty tender and so delicious, nice bite a bit of smoky goodness that did not over power the meat, sauced with just a whisper of a sweet and spicy sauce. This was the best BBQ I have had since my last visit to Rolling Smoke in Las Vegas, it used to be when asked I was going to Vegas to play pool , now when asked , I am going to Vegas for the BBQ. Now I am happy to say I can just stay in town to enjoy exceptional BBQ. It may be what's for dinner tonight too ..

Why does this Tri-Tip have to be so ridiculously tender and juicy?!…read more Seriously... why even bother giving me a steak knife? This Tri-Tip was so tender I could've sliced it with an old butter knife from Grandma's kitchen drawer and never missed a beat. And the flavor? Absolutely unreal. I swear that cow was out in the pasture happily munching on fresh grass about two seconds before it made its way to my plate. Every bite tasted so fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor that it almost seemed unfair to every other Tri-Tip I've ever eaten. This wasn't just dinner--it was a full-blown meat experience. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and cooked so perfectly that it should probably come with a warning label: "Caution: May permanently ruin all future Tri-Tip for comparison purposes." 10/10. I ordered the pork belly sandwich, but it wasn't what I expected based on the menu. Instead of the tender, sliced pork belly I was anticipating, it came with three large chunks of meat covered in barbecue sauce. It honestly didn't resemble what I would typically consider a pork belly sandwich, and I found myself a little confused by the presentation. The macaroni and cheese had good flavor, although it seemed a bit dry and firm, as if it had been sitting for a while. I understand that everyone has different styles of barbecue, and this may have simply been an off day. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope that it's helpful, because I know many people speak highly of Big Vic's. I truly hope this was just an exception, and I'd be willing to give them another try in the future.
