Very nice place my first time there loved their menu service was super nice our waitress very nice lady

Stopped in about 1:30pm midweek for lunch. I had never been here, but found it online when searching for craft beer locations in the NE Modesto area. Inside room is ok, a bit cold feeling with concrete counters, floors, etc. There were several groups at the bar, 3-4 guys on one end, 2 guys at the other, so I sat in the middle. The first red flag was the female bartender, who was dressed in sweats and a ball cap, like she had just rolled out of bed. Very unprofessional, even for a beer/pub. She seemed disinterested in serving me and was more concerned about talking with the 4 guys. Then another guy & girl joined that group. They all knew one another, obviously regulars. The beer list was decent and well-balanced. 4 IPAs, a couple of Pils/Lager and Stout/Porters, Hazy IPAs, Cider/Selzer, and 4 grocery store beers: Coors Light, Modelo, Bud Light, and ? IPAs were from Henhouse, Drakes, Dust Bowl, and ? Large food menu for such a small place. From the bar, you can easily watch the cook on the flattop. After reading the list of sandwiches, I figured the turkey/ham/etc. was the Sysco-type, inexpensive kind, so I opted for a cheeseburger. Burger & fries arrived on a metal sheet pan. The burger looked good, and the fries looked a bit undercooked (not golden brown). Bun was toasted on the flattop and had a bit of mayo, no mustard, ketchup, etc. Fries came with a small 1oz thimble of ranch. As I suspected, the fries were undercooked. I cut the burger in half, and the center was undercooked. Then I noticed the burger patty was actually two thin patties pressed together. WTF? First bite was a warning- the meat had no seasoning and tasted like cardboard. Thankfully, I got a second beer and washed down the burger. Only ate half of the burger. I'm guessing they sell a lot of booze, because there is no way people are going for the food. I wouldn't be surprised if this place is closed by the end of 2026. read more

This is a very friendly place with great service. The servers were so nice and accommodating. We had our dog with us and they welcomed her as it is a very dog friendly place. I would give it 5 stars for the friendly service! But I had to knock off 2 stars because what I ordered was not very good. I ordered the Thai tacos and they offered a low-carb version on a bed of lettuce instead of tortillas. The presentation was nice and I know they really tried, but it was pretty bad. The sauce tasted more like ketchup and did not taste like a Thai sauce at all. It was supposed to have chopped peanuts in it but it hardly had any. The chopped chicken pieces were drowned out by the ketchup tasting sauce. I thought there would be more avocado on it but there was only a tiny piece on each taco and they chose a bad avocado because the avocado was turning brown with stringy fiber in it. I couldn't eat it after a few bites. On the other hand hubby had fish and chips which he liked. The french fries were good. So my dish was a bomb while hubby's was decent and predictable. I would return if I'm in the area because the service is so friendly and nice, but I would not order that again. I would try something more mainstream that's hard to botch up like maybe a hamburger or a sandwich. read more

Nice little spot, you can stop in for a quick bite to eat or for a quick drink. The restaurant has more of a bar feel, it's not the cleanest place but it's tolerable. The food here is consistent, I've had appetizers and entrees, all were good. Do not try to order any fancy drinks here, they're not very good, just stick to beers and a simple vodka soda or something like that. Service was decent, they could be a bit more friendly. read more

Now serving brunch, as of today, and the Eggs Benedict with diced potatoes are SO good! I'm very picky with my hollandaise sauce and I was very impressed. Smaller inside, which I love, and the bar area is fun with the bartenders being friendly and the tv's on with sport's playing ;) The outside is spacious, if you ever want a party or get together. It's nicely shaded from the hot sun, which is a perk! Shout out to one of the bartenders, Sydnie, she was amazing and went above and beyond! My new hangout spot! read more

I hate doing this about somewhere I love, and been debating about even doing it.. but some things must be done. The bartender who works Tuesday, I believe Mondays as well. But the encounter this past Tuesday was her. Taproom has been a favorite of mine and friends for years! It's been through its rough patches. But getting way better!!! Food. Great! Service. Great again! But that bartender, bad mouthing coworkers to her friends and hardly paying attention to paying customers. I even overheard a man at the bar order his beer 3 times before he got it. I could tell that she was trying to be seductive with customers by the way she was staring at my husband. When I looked up to enjoy my meal, I saw that she was also trying to be seductive to her coworkers. The woman is skinny and has green eyes. noticed her working in the back; she's probably a waitress or dishwasher, but she was mostly inside. so ladies, be careful if you want to take your man out to dine. We went in on Nov 5th after hearing this place had been remodeled and updated the menu. Our waitress started off ok but it quickly went downhill. The entire bar was full with obvious "regulars" that she felt inclined to give all her attention too. This included doing multiple shots with them. We had to get up to go to the bar multiple times to ask her to refresh our drinks. This seemed to irritate her. My husband ordered the fish and chips which was probably the worst fish and chips we've ever had. The fish was so small it looked like chicken tenders. The fries had no seasoning and tasted old. At the end of my meal all the sudden I picked up my phone off the table and it was all wet. I realized the ceiling was leaking. I again had to go to the bar to get the waitress attention and said "I wanted to let you know the ceiling is leaking " and she just said "I know". No I'm sorry.... Nothing. After I moved chairs and she finally came over she said that area always leaks and the owner knows. I have never wanted to not leave a tip so bad on my life. We will not be returning. We have heard that this is a regular behavior with this waitress and she tends to do shots with her regulars when she's hungover. Very unprofessional. read more

This place has gone to shit. Came here Sunday before St Patty's for their Corned Beef which in The past was absolutely delicious.I would always get the tacos. It was housemade the lady who made it Did an excellent job, she was a good chef. What I had on sunday were abominations. I got both the sandwich which came with fries and the irish nachos. First of all, those. Fries had so much salt on them.They were inedible.The corn beef sandwich.Nothing memorable about it.It was the corn beef, especially that tasted.Nothing like it did in the past. The irish nachos what a horrible disgusting idea. Basically , they fry up potato chips which are full of oil and then put corn , beef and a bunch of toppings over it. I didn't. Quite understand the concept.But once I tasted the corn beef.I realized that since the corn beef was lack luster.They'd have to put all these other things in order to distract and take attention away from the corn beef. Why?Even put that on your menu when you know you're gonna fail.It was disgusting and a waste of money especially in this economy. The bartender working on Sunday was completely unemotional.She could care less if I was there or not.She even made a comment about wishing that it was more dead. I've been sick of this place.I remember coming in here and seeing a gentleman and a turban.Getting spoken to in a highly disrespectful manner while the owner just looked on. It's really disappointing to go to a restaurant that you've always enjoyed to have your experience ruined with bad service. Our server was rude and obviously hungover. Instead of paying attention to the customers sitting at tables, she was busy taking shots with her friends at the bar. What's happened to customer service? So I have a celiac disease which is gluten free. I asked if anything was gluten free on the menu and was told no. That's fine and ok. So I went next door and got a small gluten free pizza while my other half and friends ordered food and drinks. When I got back with a GF pizza from next door, I was told I could not have outside food. When I told them I would have ordered food from here, but could not because they don't have gluten free. I wa told if the owner saw me, they or I would be yelled at. I said that would be ok because this is not ok. I would not have ordered outside from here if they had food for me. I understand they don't have gluten free, not everyone does, but don't get upset because I ordered from outside. This made me feel very uncomfortable. And we will not be back. read more

I was on the east side of Modesto yesterday looking for lunch. Decided to check out The tap room... Walked in about 12:15.. noticed all the outdoor seating had been taken up by the Tulare soccer team... Then notice no one was eating it appeared that there was one cook and one bartender who was also the only waitress. they were clearly overwhelmed by the crowd. After sitting at the table for 20 minutes no one was taking orders or even drink orders.. clearly not their fault I just wish the ownership of this establishment would have the wherewithal to hire a little extra help on Saturdays. read more

The toasted the French roll, melted the cheese, everything on this sandwich was amazing. Had a few different choices for sides, I selected the garlic fries. These are one of the bests I have had. Not to oily and perfect amount of garlic. This is a full bar with several beers on tap. I decided to have the blood orange here by SLO Brewing, another great choice on a 106 degree day. I will definitely be back, while sitting there, the philly cheese sandwich looked amazing as with the mini taco's. Guess I should have looked at the menu, they also had Chicken & Waffles. Asada fries are amazing i seriously wasn't expecting the meat to be so good. Wings are definitely over priced I get it everything I going to but $2 a wing no thank you. Vibe was cool we came on a football Sunday but we left after an appetizer and one beer because we sat for over 10 minutes with empty glasses and the waitress wouldn't ever check on us. We planned on ordering lunch and having beers and shots but ended up leaving and finding another bar because the waitress would never come over. The cook was grabbing the food with his bare hands the entire time. Cross contaminating every dish he touched. Never saw him wash his hands or wear any sort of gloves. I am writing this review after coming to this restaurant/pub for the 1st time. The food was great. I had the Thai chicken tacos which were an amazing appetizer. I also had the Philly cheesesteak, which was the best cheesesteak I've ever had and I've been to Philly and had Geno's. The only I could really criticize is that it is a little small inside and doesn't have too much seating during the months when the weather isn't nice. I went in December a couple days after Xmas. They have a nice outdoor area, but it isn't really utilized during the winter it seems, although I did go on a Wednesday. Maybe on the busier nights it's open with heaters. I'm not sure. I'm sad to see that some of the recent reviews are not great because the food was awesome and we didn't receive bad service at all especially considering there were only 3 people total working. Does this place have new owners? We went here yesterday July 29th for a couple of drinks. The whole "VIBE" was off. The waitress/bartender was a big time snob. She severely neglected her female customers and spent the whole time flirting/catering to all the men. I didn't catch her name. Not sure if she was 25 or 55 with the amount of fillers in her face. The food is very good. The portions are huge. I wish they had a lunch menu or options for 1/2 and 1/2 option, I would order salad and sandwich every time. The service is okay.
