My horses are no exception and because they are special to me, I always call Chris Howard for shoeing. Imagine a good ole' boy from Oklahoma who drives a really cool farrier truck that plays classic XM satellite C&W songs when shop is set up. Imagine a deep, calming voice that always settles even the youngest of his clients, like my Miz Scarlett. My old boy even falls asleep when his shoes are being put on as he completely trusts Chris not to hurt his feet and knows his gentle hands will take care of him all away around. Chris will always try to accommodate you if you have a special need, like you have a horse show and your horse needs a touch up trim or has thrown a shoe. Or if he is at your stable and you do not have an appointment (even if you are a new client), he will take time before he leaves to see you or schedule an appointment within a few days. And most of all, imagine this good ole' Oklahoma boy with the calming voice saying, "You know your horse is getting Jimmy Choo shoes" or " This is the Manolo Blahnik trim." Aspen Creek clearly has no respect for clients, their property, or basic standards of care. I will not be paying for services that never happened, especially after dealing with the damage they caused. Save yourself the time, the money, and the headache -- there are plenty of veterinary practices out there that actually know how to show up, do their job, and treat customers with basic respect. Immediately I felt the peace come over me when his receptionist asked all the right questions and then actually listened compasionately to my responses! Amazing! She found me a spot for my Nala to be seen and within 2 hours Dr Curt was performing magic. Even tho I was being squeezed in and Nala wasn't his patient, he still took his time and was thorough, compassionate, kind, and most importantly extremely knowledgeable. I emphasize knowledgeable! His price was honest and very fair. Outstanding service! 5 stars! I will continue to drive the 3 hours if he will have us. Finding a quality vet, let's face it any servicer these days, who truly cares and isn't just trying to make money is a rare gem and worth the drive! Nala continues to fight and is holding steady! We can't expect perfection from our caregivers nor to have all the answers, perform miracles, or know what to do at all times but we can expect them to care, listen, and make wise, logical choices with the health of our loved ones. First, I was taken in with her to a room right on time and Dr. Kurtz was in right away. He took a look and said, not so bad, we can just clean it up, clip what's left of the nail back a bit and, good to go! With pain and antibiotic pills, barely over $100.00 - he could easily have gone for the full treatment like last time, tripling the bill, but of course he did not. We have many vets much closer to home, but for years now have driven up to Bergen Park and Elk Meadow Animal Hospital for a uniformly great experience with a doctor and staff we trust completely. My Cat requires Flovent inhaler because she has asthma. For six years, when I placed an order with the online pharmacy and the prescription needed to be renewed, they would fax the request to Elk Meadow to get it updated. The new team comes in and gets rid of the fax (don't blame them for removing old technology), but they don't notify us they changed the process. Because Flovent has to come from other countries, it takes 3-6 weeks to get here. Three weeks pass from when I placed my order, and I decide to check the status. It hasn't shipped because the prescription hasn't been renewed! I call Elk Meadow and and ask if they received the fax. This is when I learned they removed the fax machine. I told them it was urgent for me to get the prescription because I'm almost out, and it takes 3-6 weeks. I'm put on hold... she comes back and tells me I need to have the online pharmacy call them. I told her I've worked with this pharmacy for 15 years, and they are not going to call. So I asked her to send the prescription to me (the same prescription Elk Meadow has given for 6 years), and was told no. They were not going to send the prescription until the pharmacy called. I told her I wanted a call from Dr Brian by end of business so I could get it ordered. The lady I was speaking with was rude and not helpful, and Dr Brian never called. This is on a Friday, now nothing can happen until Monday. These people don't give a rats a$$ about animals! I would stay away! I've already setup an appointment to meet with another Vet. BYE Elk Meadow!
