The food here is really delicious! My husband had the Combo 1 with chicken and chevapi, and I had the Combo 2 with sausage and chevapi. The chevapi, bread, and dipping sauce were my favorite, and the salad was really nice. Sausage and chicken were also very good, but the chevapi and bread kept me thinking about them after the meal. Service was fast and friendly, they have parking, and it's seems better than before they closed/sold/something. I visited once years ago, and remember it being good, but not worth returning. Even if they have a sign up for sale, I am happy to have finally tried this restaurant. I have driven past it multiple times as it is located in a prime spot. The food is just perfect, I don't have any other word for it. My favorite is the Balkan version of pita bread (flat bread- lepinja? )with ajvar.. chicken is really tender and flavorful in the dishes too. Savory cornbread is quite filling. Having lived in Croatia and having visited the region often, I get cravings for Balkan food. Not so much the fancy stuff, but rather the everyday dishes I enjoy so much while I'm there. Luckily for me, Two Brothers serves exactly that. I don't eat mammals, which means no cevapcici for me. I've been told quite earnestly by folks from the region that this means I haven't really eaten local food. But my more carnivorous family members enjoy the cevap, while I'm happy with the bread, the chicken, and lots of ajvar. And rakija, of course. I just wish they still had burek on the menu. The ambience is very casual. Service can vary a bit, but the past few times has been very friendly. There's been a for sale sign up for ages--I hope the place survives. I wish there were more places to get Balkan food in Portland. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy. read more

It has been so long since I had cevape, I was low key going into withdrawal so we just had to scour yelp to see if there is any to be had in Portland. Imagine my happiness to find just a restaurant just minutes away from some yummy goodness. It's a small restaurant in a busy area and luckily has its own parking. We found a table right away and the young man brought some waters and took our order immediately. They also play all of the World Cup games so you can have a really great lunch and watch some footie. Food took a bit because of a large to go order placed just before we walking but the food was more than worth the wait. The cevape portion was really big and I struggled to finish it. Cevape sausages were obviously homemade and you could definitely taste it, very moist and flavorful. The pita bread they came in was absolutely amazing, soft and chewy, best one I had here in the US. This is as authentic as it can get - I always hoped the kids will take over - cause well it is in the name already. But the two brother are no chefs and worked a very good service. My son wanted to try Balkan food so we try this place for a late lunch. We started with the Pita and humus. The bread was warm and fresh and the humus was delicious. I got the combo 2 with sudzuka and cevapi. Was so good and flavorful. The salad was really good too. My son got the combo 1 with a chicken kabob and cevapi. He loved the cevapi but the kabob lakes flavor. My gf had the goulash with mashed potatoes. She said the potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes and although the goulash was good it didn't tasted how she expected it to. The server was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. Very glad to find a casual Balkan restaurant, one thing I haven't seen a lot of in Portland. The menu is very simple with just a few quality ingredients, like almost all restaurants in Bosnia. The meats here are good quality. We went with the mixed grill pork plate, which was a perfect feast for 2. There was cevapi of course (didn't find a single restaurant in Bosnia/Serbia that didn't serve this). It is like a breakfast sausage but fluffier and meatier. You dip this in the sour cream or ayvar (red pepper paste). Also came with some other sausages that are more like American breakfast sausage links and some pork chops, salad & fries. All were good, but the cevapi was my fav. They have some Balkan beers and rakia (tastes like vodka). If you want to try some authentic no-frills Balkan cuisine just like they serve in Bosnia come here, and I would do it soon as I have heard they are looking to retire and sell the place. Hopefully I can make it back before then to try their pleskavica (juicy hamburger steak patty). I wouldn't come if your a vegetarian tho, the only thing you can eat is salad. The menu is small and limited. We really wanted the Cornbread but told they were out. I was disappointed no dessert on the menu. Our decided to share since none of us was really hungry. We ordered: -Pita Bread, $10.00: listed as homestyle pita bread served with Ajvar, roasted red bell pepper, tomato, eggplant, onion, and garlic, or hummus. This was a hit for us as it came out hot, light, and just the right amount of bread for the 4 of us to share. The Ajvar was balanced as a dip. We would get it again if we come back. -Mixed Grilled Chicken Combo, $42.50: the server told it it's typically for 2 people. We decided to get one and see how we felt. It was a perfect amount for the 4 of us after the Pita Bread. This dish was very standard Mediterranean food with grilled kabob chicken, ground meat, and sausage. There was nothing to brag about the flavor of them. We chatted among us about the inclusion of sour cream. We love sour cream in general so it was purely a wonder of it on the dish. Limited parking in their own lot, about 6 or so including handicap spot. Street parking is available near by. They located on the corner of a very busy intersection so it's easy to miss it and find it your first time using GPS, unless you know exactly the turns into their small parking lot. By the time we finally stopped in for dinner here, I'd driven by Two Brothers Rakia Bar and Grill an uncountable number of times, each time vowing that someday I'd stop in and see what it was all about. Prior to our first visit (which also happened to be on my birthday), I was only vaguely aware of what Balkan cuisine is like thanks to an episode or two of Anthony Bourdain, but honestly, I had no idea of what to expect. Now I do: Delicious, hearty, filling, heartwarming, unpretentious, down-to-earth dishes that flirt with aspects of Russian, Turkish, and Mediterranean flavors and ingredients. And that Rakia? Amazing! What is Rakia, you ask? Think of it as "fruit brandy", and you're pretty close. There are several types, each distilled from a particular fruit, the most common being apples, pears, apricots, grapes and quince. It's also quite strong, so you won't be knocking back more than a few, if you plan on driving home! We ordered a hummus and pita appetizer, and the Combo 2 to split between us, as I couldn't decide between the singular cevapi, sudzuka sausage, or goulash entrées above, and decided to knock out as many as I could with one blow. Two outta three ain't bad...but I *am* coming back for that goulash! Everything that was served hit the spot! The cevapi, listed as a "beef roll", are a sort of finger food meatball (no fork required! well, I didn't use one, anyway!) that pair wonderfully with the provided sour cream and ajvar, a red pepper and eggplant spread. Dip and dunk to your heart's content! And despite looking like glorified breakfast links, the sudzuka sausages pack a powerful flavor punch that was well received by us both. The flavor is strong, earthy, unique, and really just amazing. It made me want to start poking around international grocers and strip mall Russian to find them again! The interior was a little smaller than I expected, but it was clean, cozy, dimly yet warmly lit, with an ambient glow coming from behind the bar. A couple of TVs were playing sporting events. The bartender doubled, and tripled, as our server and the bus boy, and he did so with a friendly, welcoming demeanor. He appeared to be alone at first (where is his brother?!), until we spied a woman (who was probably his mother, judging from the interactions we observed) holding down the fort in the kitchen, and doing all the cooking. To her, I say "Gemrieli! Gmadlobt! Chven davbrundebit!" Upon leaving Two Brothers, my wife and I both walked away impressed, a little more cultured, a little tipsy, a little heavier, and a little happier! Not a bad way to celebrate my 44th orbit around the sun! Been meaning to try this place for a while. We live nearby and the menu seemed interesting and they have a parking lot so bonus for picking up quickly. We tried the shared platter with four types/ styles of beef and chicken. The meats were good with interesting spices. After reading the reviews of this dish we expected more food but maybe with Covid things have been cut back. The 2 chicken breasts were very thin so looked like they were sliced and maybe a 3rd of a normal breast. But not overly complaining the food was enough for a meal for two with a very small amount of leftovers. My husband enjoyed the salad. What lost a star for me and why I personally won't come back was I really like rice with this type of meal. So instead of some moist rice it came with very generic dried out French fries. Maybe if you are them in person it would help. I don't know how long the food was standing before I got there but it's only a 5 min drive home. I ate about 4 of them before giving up. They also had homemade bread which did taste good but I still prefer more of a pita bread. So again personal preference. read more

Went to Two brothers with 5 brothers and a sister and 3 kids. It was amazing. It was a solid 4.5, but I rounded down. Hear me out. I will do the constructive feedback first and then all the encouragements. The only critical feedback would be the fries. I rounded down the 4.5 to a 4 for fries. It was nothing special, no salt, nothing. That would be the only downside. However, the rest of the food was blew up my tastebuds like marge simpson hair. Salad was litty fresh to death. All the protein was flavorful. No dry meat here. And I mean all the protein from chicken, sausage, skewers, etc. etc. So amazing. Sauces were on point. Often duplicated, never replicated. Service and people were great. So overall, I would say this spot is a must-return spot. Solid 4.5. Come back with more than 2 brothers. read more

Cevapi much? LETS! DO! TWO BROTHER CAFE & GRILL! Went here for the first time on an overcast feels-like-Fall Sunday with my plus one and two friends. They have both indoor and outdoor seating - we opted for the outdoor for extra air. It's a top covered and windowless... like sunroom. It's covered but be warned if you wanted to sit out in driving rain. For us it was perfect! They have about 10 parking places in their lot. Other than that you'll have to park on an off street nearby. Prepare for parallel parking! We also used the very clean bathrooms. Two and gender neural. Appreciated! Combo #1: 5 Chevapi Grilled Meat Rolls, 1/2 pita, Greek salad (mixed greens, red onion, tomatoes, olives, feta, cucumber, balsamic and oil), fries, and one grilled chicken skewer. We also got an extra 1/2 pita because 2 people were sharing. The portion was generous enough for both of us to feel full!! The cevapi (I don't know) is delicious! It's looser packed and shorter than the cevapi I'm used too, but with the ajvar was delicious along with the sour cream on the pita which was warm and fluffy! I straight up love the pita and am so happy we got the extra 1/2. I was not about to share. The Greek salad was great and fresh and so were the fries. Everything was just really fresh which was amazing. The chicken in the kebab was tender and juicy on the inside and lightly charred on the outside - perfect. Combo #2: 5 Chevapi, 2 sausages, 1/2 pita, fries, and a Greek salad. Out friend had this and it was too much food lol. She ate a respectable amount but also seemed to eat most of the large 1/2 her pita. I'm telling you, get the pita. Chicken gyro, Greek salad, & fries: looked amazing! Our friend had this and she ate pretty much everything but the salad. The portions are so huge though who could blame leaving something on the plate?! Fair warning the pita is not the same as the others, it's flatter like a wrap. They also got a mixed drink which looked amazing and a beer which was declared good to great by them as well. Never had Balkan food before but I love a middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, and this is similar. It's fresh and delicious, food made with simple ingredients and preparation so the flavors shine! If its your first time here, go for the Cevapi which is minced meat, garlic and spices shaped into sausage and cooked on the grill. Oh, my! Delicious on its own, even better because they are served with freshly made, puffy pita bread and Adjvar is a red pepper spread. It's similar to an Italian spread I make where eggplant, roasted red peppers, tomatoes and seasonings are cooked long and slow giving it a jammy flavor! I could live off pita and this delicious, richly flavored spread! The lamb gyro is also spectacular! The lamb is perfectly cooked so it's juicy and tender, stuffed into a pita with tzatziti, tomato and onion. I add feta and lettuce and the combo is so satisfying! If you want to sample different items, go for one of their combo plates. It's enough food for two people or dinner and lunch the next day. If you are like me, when you have a delicious meal you crave it again, order the combo platter so you can eat it twice! They have a small parking lot in back which is convenient for pick up during these Covid times. Served with Ajvar (roasted red bell pepper, tomato, eggplant, onion, and garlic), sour cream, side Greek salad, fries and homemade bread. TI was all excellent - the meat was high quality and none of it was overcooked - the two types of chicken were seasons completely differently, which is rare. We'll have leftovers for days. This place is like taking a step out of America and landing on a European continent. Very small mom and pop establishment, but it was stellar stuff. Food was on point, and their Turkish coffee hit the spot. This isn't a Michelin star restaurant but it's a very unique experience. So I went on the hunt, saw that they have them here and drove 30 min to taste them!! They were so good! Let's start with authenticity: it is somewhat authentic. But half of the pictures on Yelp are not relevant anymore as they discontinued Burek and Pita! How can you run a restaurant with Balkan food and not have Burek???? How did Goulash and Polish Sausage come onto the menu as they are not Balkan Foods??? Next Chevapi are small (you are being cheap with meats servings) and are served with sour cream!?! Who the hell does that. Make Kajmak or something close to it damn it!!! Ajvar is straight from the can meaning I can eat the exact thing at home! Cleanliness: if you kindly check out my pictures you will see the state that bathroom is in. I was afraid to wash my hands or touch door knobs after the fact. Oh and the clutter on the patio. Come on guys, clean up! Menus had dried up food stains on them. Lastly service!
