    Halloumi salad

Some elements are good and some are curious... but the staff has always been 10/10. Came in with the family, first time in quite a long time. We ordered a hummus trio to start, and some french fries for our toddler. I ordered a steak mushroom hot appetizer and a halloumi salad as my dinner and my family all ordered meat entrees. The hummus was ok, but the star was the traditional flavored one, the pita bread was really good, especially with the tzatziki sauce. My steak app fell flat... it was a one-note tasting dish, and needed salt or acid to lift it out of feeling too oily. The halloumi "salad" was bizarre, as was just tomato and cucumber served on limp half-dead iceberg lettuce. The grilled cheese was pretty tasteless, everything needed a vinaigrette, a crispy chickpea, or SOMETHING. I also felt it a bizarre addition to add store bought pickle chips to the side of the grilled chicken entree. The husband and both my other family members thought the cumin margaritas were weird tasting and would have preferred a different taste in their cocktail. I've definitely had better visits in the past here. Maybe we didn't order the right items this time round, or maybe it was an off day in the kitchen. Will be back in the future since we live next door but I wasn't as pleased with this dinner all in all.

I've had this place bookmarked for a long time, and finally had a chance to try it with a friend from out of town. It did not disappoint! I made a reservation because it was a Friday night and the check in process was smooth and quick. We sat at a corner booth and it was very dim and romantic. There's a lot of street parking and we were lucky to find a spot right in front. Our server was also the one that sat us down and he was very helpful. We asked him for recommendations and he basically told me everything he thinks we should try and to share. We did exactly as he said and were happy campers. You've got to get the sample platter and cheese rolls for appetizer. We also got the wings and filet mignon hot appetizers, but both meats were a bit overcooked in my opinion, although still tasty. We ordered the filet mignon and mixed meat entrees and those were tasty as well! Portion size is decent for price points. We ended our meal with the knafeh and some Lebanese coffee. The coffee was very strong and full of cardamom flavor. It was my first time trying knafeh and I was in love with it. The texture is a bit chewy with the layer of cheese at the bottom with the perfect amount of sweetness. Although I'm not sure if it's super authentic since it didn't seem to have shredded phyllo dough. I will definitely be back to try other dishes!

We had the best time - the restaurant is for sure an experience- we ordered hummus, tried the liver, and the lamb which is not pictured (we ate that before even thinking of a picture). Highly recommend, the price definitely reflects the quality of the food! Be sure to try the cotton candy dessert! We had not tried anything like it!

We came to Al Hawr with a group of friends on a recommendation, and it did not disappoint! Good flavors, good size portions of food. The ambience was nice, and staff was kind. The pita was also tasty! I was a big fan of the beet salad. We ordered the sampler platter and I also had the Kafta Arayiss. It was almost the equivalent of a Lebanese quesadilla - but better! The one thing I didn't love was the price, it seemed but pricey for what you get. But it also could be a product of the location of the restaurant. The average price for the meals we had was $25. Aside from all that, it was a good experience and a tasty meal!

What a gem of a restaurant in the OHSU South Waterfront area! You might miss it if you don't know about it but this Lebanese family run restaurant got a massive space cozily decorated, making it perfect for a casual meal or a special occasions. I like how well-crafted their menu is. It's not too long or small, you can feel that they put thoughts into what goes on their menu. There are a good mix of familiar items as well as unique ones, especially in the hot appetizer section. We were so enticed by their appetizers that we actually went with the Sampler Platter, Ras Asfoor, and Mixed Dough for our meal. The Sampler Platter seemed expensive at first but it did not disappoint! You get a great amount of Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Beet Salad, Tabouleh, and Dolmas with freshly made Pita Bread on the side. This could be a meal on its own or split between at least four people. Everything in the platter was super fresh. I was particularly a fan of the Beet Salad with lemon peels on top. The Ros Asfar was the most unique dish we had there. It's pieces of filet mignon cooked in a savory sauce with mushroom and pine nuts. Again, their portion was great. The meat wasn't the most tender but the flavors were really good! Lastly, the Mixed Dough was also a platter of fried dough appetizers, great for sampling. All the items were freshly fried. I liked the Cheese Dough and Meat Dough the best out of this order. Service was very friendly. All in all, a very pleasant experience and great bang for your bucks. We'll definitely be back!

Everything here is amazing. We ate family style and we reordered the Lamb Cocktail it was so good. The chicken Schwarma was amazing as was the beef and lamb grilled Kafta. The sampler platter was effectively a meza. The pita kept coming. Such great service!! Narameme was awesome! If you haven't tried the best Lebanese restaurant in the area, get on over there!!

Dip mezza - hummus not smooth, no flavor, Lebneh was ok, baba ghanoush almost tasted of artificial smoke flavoring. Shatta - absolutely not shatta. It was oil with chopped herbs that has definitely gone bad. Again absolutely no flavor. Paid $5 for a tiny to go condiment cup of it! What a rip off. Falafel - meh. Lamp gyro - fiance thought it was ok, but also, very bland. There are so many good middle Eastern restaurants I will definitely never order from this restaurant again. Speaking of dinner, it was excellent. We started with a roasted eggplant dip served with a round, fluffy pita bread. So yummy. Next came falafel with tahina and green S'hug sauce, which gives it a spicy kick. The six falafel balls were light and airy, not dense and dry like lots of falafel we've had in the past. Finally, we ended with chicken shawarma, a wonderful confit chicken dish, nicely seasoned, sitting atop large pita pillow. We just folded it up and went from there. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. They suggest ordering two dishes per person, but you don't need to. Three dishes is plenty (even two) depending on what you get. We washed it down with a pilsner beer and homemade blackberry soda. The portions are generous. We'll definitely go back and sample several other dishes.

A not-too-overpowering garlic taste, followed by the crunchy pickle the salty fries and the delicious chicken patty, makes it an outstanding burger with a really unique flavor profile! Well done. The crunchy fresh Cole slaw give it another layer of freshness. The hole burger is a smart composition. If I'll have to recommend something to.
