I got delivery here and wow, it was fab. Everything was healthful, fresh and in generous portions. I wish there was so pita for the hummus and soup, was my only small issue.

I think everyone sees this on the way to the highway but finally came by. Iraqi cuisine. First, amazing hospitality, kudos. Iraqi beer was a nice light beer with some lemon sweetness Iraqi shish kabob was a solid dish that is fairly familiar if you know kabobs. The standout was the pompano. Fried fish, succulent, just wonderful. Very crispy skin. I highly recommend Didn't have time for coffee or dessert.

The food is fresh and delicious, the decor is lovely, and the service is excellent. The salad was crisp and fresh, the soup was amazing, and the chicken and beef were delicious. The best thing was the tzatziki...definitely order it!

A super cool Iraqi spot! Inside is meticulously decorated and painted. They're pretty busy on a random weekday lunch so service was slow but very friendly. Their Falafel Mezza Platter was a perfect sampler for our group of four. All the dips were amazing and flavorful. Falafels were very crispy and fresh as well. Big fan. For main, I got the Lamb Shank which was very tender and generous. The eggplant stew worked very well with the lamb. All their lamb options were tender but the kabob was kinda dry, at least for me. The Chicken was surprisingly tender. Overall, a super great spot for a special or casual meal.

Amazing food. Really nicely decorated restaurant. Good service. Meat was well seasoned. Would definitely come back.

This place was so beautiful. Fantastic decor, amazing ambiance, and a super calming environment. I ordered the falafel rice plate which is fully vegan. I don't typically finish all my food when I eat out and I'll end up taking food home. That was not the case here. I ate every last grain of rice on my plate. The falafel was cooked to perfection, the rice was deliciously seasoned, and the chickpea stew...oh my god I may have to get a full serving of that next time. I also got a date roll to go which was incredible. I would say be prepared to spend a bit more than normal, but I would also say it's 100% worth it. The man who originally took our order was so kind and welcoming too. Just an all around amazing dining experience.

Food: 5/5 I got the Mixed Grill plate which comes with chicken kabob pieces, beef kabob, and grilled onions. For reference, middle eastern is one of my favorite cuisines, and this blew me away. Specifically, I think this was the best seasoning I've ever had on kabob meat, it was a flavor bomb. Good value too, normally I have to ask for extra meat from other restaurants, but I was full and satisfied from this plate! I also got the tabouli salad and it was very fresh. Also love how many GF options there are here! Service: 5/5 Wonderful service, the server took great care of us and answered all our questions. Ambiance: 5/5 I loved the art pieces and decoration everywhere, it really felt authentic, like I stepped into a different country for lunch. The dim lighting created a nice intimate atmosphere.

This was our first time trying Iraqi food--and wow, what an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide Pete recommended DarSalam earlier in the day, and we're so glad we listened. He was even kind enough to drop us off. We arrived around 6pm and it was a PACKED. Reservations are recommended. It is a nicely decorated and cozy location with staff that is exceptionally kind. Service was a bit slow because but they were busy, but we were in no rush. And honestly, once the food arrived, we forgot all about it! The menu is a bit pricy - but it's absolutely worth it. You get what you pay for (quality) and the servings are generous. We ordered the mixed plate with chicken kabob chunks and ground beef, along with the shredded chicken plate that came with rice and a flavorful chickpea stew. Every single bite was phenomenal. I'm Armenian, so I'm very used to the common dishes and appetizers - but WOW. I'm not a hummus person, but today I was. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate a meal that felt so full of love and warmth (outside of home). At some point, I think I caught myself eating in slow motion due to the rich and soulful flavors --felt like home. They incorporate cardamom into their dishes, giving everything an extra level of taste that you can't help but to enjoy more and more. For dessert, we had Knafeh and "Arabic" coffee. Very different than what we are used to, but equally yummy. DarSalam isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking to taste something truly special. 10/10 would recommend. 12/10 would eat again. 100/10 already planning my return.

The staff is extremely friendly and it matches how good the food tasted. The interior decor is absolutely beautiful which made everything even better.

Came here with my SO. Walking in, the decoration on the wall were amazing. We were quickly seated. i We ordered their Baba Ghanoush as starter, and it was the best Baba Ghanoush I had. It smelled so good, and it also had chunks of eggplants as well. I could have ordered another plate of it. Based on our server recommendations, we ordered the Iraqi Shish Kabob plate and the golden pompano. Both were super good. The Kabob place was very tender and moist. The Golden Pompano grilled was really crispy and fresh. The server was great, and the place was super clean. Just a couple blocks from Pioneer Square. Would come here again!

Reviewing the menu, there were lots of yummy things to choose from but ultimately we both could not resist the Lamb shank. I'm sad I didn't take a picture of it. It was so tender and delicious. It came with perfect Basmati rice and a side of eggplant stew that was exquisite! I've never had eggplant stew and it was luscious. I dream to about it all night long. It was quiet, comfortable, music was great; songs we all know but with native instruments and flare. We had house red wine - not a big selection of alcohol, which is fine the food is and should be the star. My first impression as we entered here was: the AC was on, and I'm not ready for AC (yet), and the inside was too elegant, and empty. We waited awhile, when a staff appeared. We picked a seat outside, where the weather was pleasant and shady. I needed badly, to use the restroom, so I went back inside, only to be told it's outside. The mural on the walls, obscured the door to the restroom. But, there was no TP, no paper towel, and the trash was full. I had to use a toilet seat cover paper, for my TP, and went back to my seat, not happy with what I just did! I told my husband, who then told the staff, because HE need to use the restroom, too. (We've been gone all morning, this is now lunch hour). The staff gave water, menu and we ordered: The Lamb Shank. I love the eggplant stew! There's also a small salad with the Basmati rice. Also Chicken Kabob Mezza Platter with Pita bread. It was not until we're done eating, and ready to get up, did I notice there was cubed cucumber in the thaziki. But, it's got a very strong vinegar flavor, but I did like the hummus and the ghanoush. (When we eat at these places, we always pick the lamb shanks, btw). I had the other half, for my dinner tonight. The server was friendly, helpful and responsive. The atmosphere, was pleasant, and the photo taken of me, hubby thought I could pass as an Iraqi woman! LOL Thanks for the bag. We picked some crabapples, from down the street, there were 4-5 large trees ready for the pickin' from the sidewalk.

Next came falafel with tahina and green S'hug sauce, which gives it a spicy kick. The six falafel balls were light and airy, not dense and dry like lots of falafel we've had in the past. Finally, we ended with chicken shawarma, a wonderful confit chicken dish, nicely seasoned, sitting atop large pita pillow. We just folded it up and went from there. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. They suggest ordering two dishes per person, but you don't need to. Three dishes is plenty (even two) depending on what you get. Next time we'll plan to see it.) The ambiance is immediately perfect-- the room is cozy and comfortable, and it feels intimate without being too cramped. There are rugs everywhere, and the tables are low to the ground so you sit on little stools. I will note, I think that the seating might be a challenge if someone in your party has a back or knee issue. The music was a little too loud for my taste, but the server was incredibly gracious when I asked for them to turn it down a touch. The food experience here is amazing. You pick an entree from the list (one for each person) and everything is shared. Regardless of what you select on the menu, everyone gets a bowl of lentil soup and tabbouleh. The lentil soup was so, so good. It's hard to put into words-- spiced heavily but still delicate, filling but still light-- what a treat. I'd kill for the recipe. The tabbouleh is excellent, with an eggplant puree in the center that I really enjoyed. It's even better because our server kept bringing around fresh bread and asking us if we needed more. After the soup and salad, we were brought vegetarian B'stilla Royale, a dish I'd never had. I'll admit that the sweet/savory/eggy-ness of this dish didn't work for me as much as everything else, but it was still interesting and I would eat it again. When it came out, the portion was so large that my partner and I thought it was one of the mains! For our mains, we shared CousCous Vegetarian and Breka Vegetarian. Both were lovely, but the breka is in another category entirely. Served perfectly crispy with a dipping sauce that tastes of heavily smoked paprika, I was in love. Dessert was next, a heavy semolina cake and sweet mint tea (after this, I would permanently switch from an after-meal coffee). The portions were HUGE. This is truly the best value for food I have ever seen in my life. It was so much that at one point my partner and I thought that we must have ordered wrong because we couldn't believe we were getting a 5-course-meal for $32/person. Above all, though, I have to laud the service. Our waitress was so, so friendly and warm. She was incredibly attentive: as we started ordering, she immediately clocked that we were vegetarians and assured us of their processes to keep all the food separate. She did the same when I asked about some of my allergens. Food came out quickly and was delivered with a smile and a description of what everything was. Before you eat, they bring a basin and pour water over your hands, and again after the main. Before you have your dessert, they even spray orange oil on your hands to complete the experience. This was, in my opinion, a fine-dining level of attention and experience. I cannot speak highly enough of the value here, and I am so grateful we found this place.
