I've had much better. I never ate the second gyro - it just wasn't very good. I would not order from here again. read more

Definitely think this is the better of the shawarma carts in this pod. The food is fresh and comes out without too much delay. They seem well-staffed which I always like so that the staff aren't too stressed covering both cooking and taking orders. I usually get the chicken wrap and like they have that little extra special dab of hummus hidden in there. Also, they're open later than the other carts so great for a post-concert nosh! read more

We were hungry and a lot of places close at 10 PM , we definetly didnt want to eat fast food so we looked to see what else was open and saw that this place was still open late. so we decided to drive over as we were staying at the Portland airport best western. I believe it was about a ten min drive from the hotel. We were able to find parking directly behind the food truck in the little lot. I imagine it gets much busier during the day time and even early evening. The two guys working the truck that night were friendly and asked what we wanted to order. We ordered a lamb gyro i believe it was a #1 it was only $11 plus a drink. When we got our order the gyro was nice size with lots of meat and toppings. It did not take very long for our order and there were several other parties waiting for food as well. We were both thrilled with our choice as the flavors were great and it was more than enough food without the fries. Will go back to try them out again. The ambiance is street food so depends on your personal preference i have no problem with that setting the food was great and i received good service. read more

The new happy hour (1-2 pm) special is one of better deals in the food cart scene. Portion was ample, the rice tasty and fluffy, while the hummus side smooth and creamy. The gyro was my favorite of the tri-meat sampler. Window guy was cool. read more

I ordered the Tri-meat shawarma and they only put lamb in it. When I brought it back and showed them it only had lamb in it they said I only ordered lamb shawarma. I showed them the receipt and they refused to remake it after waiting 40 minutes. Never coming back here read more

Tasty stuffs! Really enjoyed their Chicken Gyro and Lamb Arabi, which was basically the Lamb Wrap with Fries. Those fries were soso worth it though. Fresh, hot, and crispy. Also got great seasonings on them. Both the gyro and arabi came with plenty of meat and sauce, maybe even a tad too saucy. Do ask for napkins! But they weren't salty or too heavy by any means. Extra credits for opening till late too; we need more of that in PDX. read more

Great food truck stand. Pleasant staff. For the price, i was hoping to get a decent serving. The chicken shawarma was very tasty, not salty at all, which i like; however, i thought their portion was very small... for the meat and rice, it was $14 and it was not a lot of meat and rice, compared to most places i've tried... and believe, we eat Mediterranean food pretty often. I also mentioned no sauce, whatsoever, just the garlic sauce, however i still got these 2 sauces on d side, which combines, seemed more than the meat/rice itself. The falafel plate was ok, nothing special. They were out of hummus. The biggest disappointment was the sambusa. I was expecting nice crispy sambusas that I could eat by hand, maybe dip it in the tzatziki. Unfortunately, they arrived completely covered in sauces that soaked in, removing all crispiness. Possibly one of the best food carts I've had in Portland. My friends came on a hungry Friday afternoon and found this food cart pod outside of PSU. We decided to order a couple Kabab Plates, which comes with a choice of meat (we got lamb), tumeric rice, hummus, tzatziki, a side salad, and a piece of pita bread. The meat was absolutely tender, the sauce and rice was so flavorful, and the pita bread with the hummus & tzatziki were heavenly. The entire Kabab Plate was to die for. There was only one man working in the food cart and he was friendly and wearing a face mask. Very happy to stumble across his food cart. read more

Shawarma spot was great! It's one of the better options you have late at night for delivery in portland! I ordered through an app and the place had a 2x1 offer so I chose the goat wrap and got 2! Overall , they're pretty good. I'll be ordering again. I also got some yoghurt-cucumber "salad" and some hummus. The hummus was better. read more

Really nice place to get a lamb wrap sandwich. The amount of lamb is plentiful, the flavors nicely seasoned, and the sauces are absolutely delicious. I would consider adding more greens into the wrap; it would be nice to have more than just meat slices in the sandwich. The tomato inside was nice. read more

I apologize for my low score, but please understand. We come from the pace where shawarma was invented lol just kidding. I asked him specifically "is the lamb in a form of meat or in the form of gyro style meat. He said oh it's chopped up chicks of lamb. Guys this place SUCKS!!! Unless you're drunk out of your mind and it's 11:45pm and your dying hungry. That's a place I'd eat over McDonald's. Just go with Lamb and ask them for taziki sauce inside also add garlic sauce + spicy depending on your spice tastes. SOLID 2.5 stars when your drunk. P.S. Drove into town from Seattle to watch the Blazers. Thought we'd check out the late night food carts for dinner. Whelp we got there and stood there. The cart is not short people friendly but what we saw was a lady who was standing there. She looked at us and turned around and walked to the back. Needless to say we went to the next open place which was a few stalls down to the right on the corner. They were great. A spot called Portland Gyro. My picky daughter ate her next day left overs which never happens. Sorta glad they're customer service was non existent we found a gem in Portland Gyro. read more

Abysmal customer service! The "manager" got my order wrong, rudely argued with me, told me I ordered a gyro, and then said he can "play back the video footage" to show me. I said, "please play the tape and turn up the volume. I said Shawarma wrap with lamb". Shawarma Spot needs to train the "managers" with some entry level, basic customer service. read more

DONT ORDER ONLINE I ordered online and when I came to pick up my food they didn't have my order. The young man who works here is RUDE. He was on speaker phone with a friend the whole time he spoke with me, switching back and forth between us. He didn't want to talk to me and it was like prying teeth to get him to talk to me. You don't need to speak in complete sentences or have a good accent to work in customer service but he wasn't able to communicate at all. He didn't answer direct questions and didn't try to help me. I held up my confirmation of order from the booth website and he told me to come back tomorrow?? I told him I can't do that I already payed for my food. He seemed to understand that and started to make it. I asked how long it would be and he didn't answer. Said things like "I'm making it now" "yes yes" "soon" I asked "15 minutes?" And didn't get an answer. I decided to just wait in my car and not bother him. I came back to ask if the food is ready and he didn't say yes instead he was rude to me and said "20 minutes wait" and "you don't care?" I asked if it was going to be another 20 mins because I was quite confused. He then rudely said that HE had been waiting 20 mins and that I "don't care for my food?" I told him I tried to ask how long it would be and he didn't answer. He was very rude and seemed to be upset that he had to wait for me, which doesn't make any sense since they were still open. I was the one who waited an hour for my food. read more

Amazing food! My gf got the chicken gyro and I got the falafel gyro wanted the falafel plate but it was 1:30am and they ran outta rice so I got the gyro but omg was it crispy and crunchy and full of spice with everything niceeeee! My husband & I, my sister and my son all went for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but we were all pleasantly surprised. Everybody but me got the spiced lamb souvlai, which was ground meat on a skewer. I tried the oregano chicken. Mine was tender, flavorful grilled chicken. I loved it! I have always thought of souvlaki as a Greek version of a gyro-meat in a pita wrap with sauce & veggies. Not here. You get the meat and a pickled vegetable and that's it. That's why you need some sides and bread. The bread is better than a lot of pita I've had. We also got an order of hummas (some of the best I've had anywhere. Maybe it's because they put a dab of zhoug-a mixture of herbs & spices packed with flavor. It was as smooth as silk), as well as beet salad. It had quinoa that seemed to have been fried because it had a slight crunch which I loved. It was the perfect foil for the golden beets and radish in the salad. We ordered just the right amount of food for the 4 of us (one piece of pita each, one salad, one hummus and an order each of souvlaki). I noticed some vegetarian options on the menu as well. Too many rich flavors, to the point of too much. It tasted like horseradish, with dill, and bacon grease. I personally love the taste of salad so don't need mine drenched in dressing like this one was. The Greek fries were cooked well but again too salty and over seasoned. The best part of the meal was the pita bread, it was cooked perfectly!
