Passing through VT and spent a night in Middlebury, asked the desk what's open for food on a Sunday night at 8pm as the town looked pretty buttoned up. Two Brothers was the choice from the desk so we went with it and so glad we did. Place looked pretty busy, bar was full, we were seated pretty much right away. The menu is smaller (perfect amount of items , hate too many choices) but done well. We love doing shareable so we can try a bunch of different things. The mussels were the absolute show stopper here, different than most. Tequila, spicy, little bits of sausage, (i would have drank the broth or made this a soup it was so good) The Poutine was different than I was used to, it was our least favorite but still ok. This is just a personal preference but I'm used to being smothered in gravy, it was almost non existent. It's like the ere was a ladle on the bottom and fries on top so didn't get a lot of it. The street corn dip was really good, much different than others I've had as well but in a really good way. It was hearty with lots of corn, had some nice spice to it. We also had (not pictured) French onion soup, loved it, nice peppery, piping hot. The cheddar ale soup, best I've had, literally you can taste all the components of this, rich, thick, creamy, sharp cheddar with a hint of the ale in the background. For dessert we took the donut holes to go, the colors dip was amazing, the chocolate looked like it was seized up a bit, we also ate this a little later so it could have been us and not from then. This looks like a super fun place to belly up at the bar, it has the hometown feel , we are already planning a stop on our drive back later this week! read more

Outstanding selection of local, craft beers. I've never seen a better selection of Vermont beers on a single tap list. They had all the big names such as Fiddlehead, Frost, and Zero Gravity. They also had some breweries that I was unfamiliar with too which left me scouring Untappd for a bite to try and figure out the best option. I ended up having an IPA from Burlington beer company and an IPA from Fiddlehead that I haven't seen elsewhere. I was super happy with both pours. They had a full bar and seemed to have a particularly nice offering from Whistle Pig. The bartender was quick and attentive. This bar was moving and grooving. We came in late after another bar we were at closed for the night. The bar was packed and the bartenders were gliding around making sure everyone had a drink. The beer menu is extensive, and I found it to be a fun task to find a beer to try! I ordered a late night bite while I sipped on my tasty local craft beer. My chicken tenders came out hot and crispy and were the perfect food to go along with my late night beer. We had a great time, and are so appreciative of the skilled bartenders and their patience with a loud group of people so close to closing time! read more

The friendliest staff and an excellent travel pitstop in Middlebury. Even some locals were friendly enough to give some advice on local nature trails and activities going on in the area. We had the calamari and Philly cheesesteaks, which were both amazing. The calamari had fried hot peppers in them with a really tasty sauce on the side. The cheesesteak was a classic cheesesteak that was as great as anything you'd find in Philly. I liked how the tavern was decorated with all sorts of tap handles lining the walls! read more

What can you say about Two Brothers- Middlebury institution, community gathering place, and the rare bar/restaurant where it's just as much fun to sit down for a delicious meal as it is to get 20-30 of your closest friends together to watch a game or put down a beer or three. Soo to start. Every restaurant in town was closed for random reasons (heat wave) they found a bar chair to set me up on while on crutches. Sat is sooner than expected which wasn't needed but I was very grateful. Julie took care of us even though we weren't her table and they were extremely busy, manger came around made sure we got taken care of. Dinner was phenomenal. Much love to the staff! read more

Cozy spot located in downtown Middlebury with great food and solid service. Ambience is simple and cute with candles on the tables... one side has a bar with various TV screens, there is also seating where you don't have to view the TVs or bar. Vegan options were abundant- French onion soup, Moroccan soup, a Mediterranean bowl and burger among other options. The two soups were phenomenal- I was surprised that the French onion had so much flavor- fries with vegan basil aioli were similarity delicious. We also had the bread pudding for dessert which was also a hit. Service was friendly and very helpful when making vegan adjustments. No designated parking spots that I saw but there are plenty of street spots adjacent. Will definitely return. read more

Great atmosphere. A little noisy. Good food. The staff was hustling and trying to provide good service, but didn't quite make it. Don't think our waitperson ever looked directly at us. My grilled veggie sandwich was great. The roll ( the part I'm not supposed to like) was really yummy. So was the whole sandwich. My husband had the salmon cake and that was good. The chilled cucumber soup was okay. It was a huge portion but lacked taste. What I really didn't like was the bathroom. I've been here once before, eight years ago when I first moved to Middlebury, and I wasn't impressed so I didn't come back. Then my birthday fell on a Monday and EVERYTHING else closer than Burlington was closed, so we found ourselves here, and I was (once again) unimpressed. Everything we tried was incredibly bland (poutine, chicken tenders with hot Buffalo sauce, sirloin steak, and Korean fried chicken sandwich). The poutine gravy was cold, which was totally unappealing. The steak was so bad we didn't even eat it, just boxed it up to take home and try to salvage tomorrow. For the price of each of the dishes, I expected them to be at least reasonably good. We won't be coming back. (Mad Taco may be a bit overpriced, but not quite as bad, and you can expect a pretty good meal there). They did earn back a star for the service, which was good, and for the garlic aioli, which was excellent. read more

I really enjoyed this pub and I'm not just saying that because they're the only game in town. Bartenders are friendly and handle the weekend crowds well. Everyone working front of house that I encountered was fantastic. Food is typical pub fare: I really recommend the chicken wings. Can't go wrong with a side of ranch either. Laidback, casual and the perfect spot to go if you're a student looking to blow off some steam for a few hours. They also have darts and if you ask nicely they might let you play! read more

Delicious food, great portion sizes, and a fabulous selection of beers, ciders, and cocktails! While in town for a wedding, my boyfriend, his parents, and I stopped in for dinner. We all thoroughly enjoyed what food we ordered: the Philly cheesesteak, the penne carbonara, the Santa Fe tortellini with Cajun chicken, the cheddar ale soup, and the summer salad. As for drinks, they just got in a seasonal Down East cider, Cider Donut, which is one of my favorites! Convinced my boyfriend and his mom to try it, and they both enjoyed the fall in a cup essence it had, while his dad had a couple IPAs, both which he enjoyed. It was quite packed by the time we left around 7ish on a Thursday, but when we first got there around 6 there was plenty of seats available. Parking was pretty easy to find on the street and the parking lots nearby, but there was not much parking right by the tavern given it's location on the roundabout and near side streets. read more

Veggie sandwich was soggy, the eggplant needs to be cooked differently as it was squishy and slimy but not really cooked, too much Mayo smothered the bread - had to take it apart and ate the peppers and cheese. $80 dinner for two. Recognizing that the bar was very busy & staff seemed overwhelmed, I also want to make my experience known. A friend and I went in to grab a drink Friday night. The host told us the seating by the front window and by the bar were first come, first serve. We chose two seats near the front window. No server came, so after about 10 minutes I decided to stand in front of the bar in hopes that I could get the attention of either bartender and order a drink. Both the male and female behind the bar ignored my presence and averted eye contact. Fortunately, after waiting to be acknowledged for an additional 5 minutes, two people left their seats at the bar and we snagged them. Again, I said excuse me a couple of times. Both the male and female behind the bar ignored me. At this point, the female fled. Unsure if she went on a smoke break or to the bathroom, but either way: we never saw her again. After another 15 minutes and several attempts to get the line bartender's attention, I raised my voice and told him about our experience. We prepared to leave. I noted that I felt ignored and disrespected. He claimed that he didn't know we didn't have drinks because they didn't clear the spot from the people before us (an issue in itself but moving on). I'm invalidating his comment because the two people in those seats before us were white women in their 60s. We are black women in our 20s. There is absolutely no way he got us confused and thought he already served us. Moreover, this seat was a third and final attempt-not to be served, but just to be acknowledged. We saw several parties get seated and greeted during the time we waited. Can I put my finger on it as definite discrimination? Not necessarily. What I can say is, we were the only people of color in there and that's exactly what it felt like. I encourage management to watch video footage from Friday, August 18, 2023 at approximately 6:40pm-7:30pm. In short, we won't be back and I don't recommend. read more

For my main entree, I enjoyed the fish and chips, which had the perfect texture and seasoning. For my beverage, I had Reed's ginger beer. The ambiance inside is cute it's very much a pubby vibe so if you're looking for a quiet dinner don't go here lol! But it you don't mind the pub vibe it's super cute and the waitstaff is super nice! The food is pretty good, their menu isn't very big however but their calamari is great and they have this Korean fried chicken sandwich my boyfriend loves! Since they had a 4 star rating on Yelp we were hesitant to go but went and kept our expectations low. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious and our server was excellent. We had poutine for an appetizer. I had mussels which were so fresh and cooked perfectly and sauce was fantastic. My husband had fish and chips and they were generous with the portion and all again was fresh and well cooked. My son had penne carbonara and they did a stellar job on this dish as well. We didn't have room for dessert so can't comment there. If you're visiting Midd or the area surrounding take the time to go and have a meal at TBT. read more

We were a party of four who came there for dinner last night. We were excited to try a new place. While the food was OK , the service was horrible! Our food came out piece meal...a salad here, a soup there. Our entire meal came out one part at a time making it impossible to eat together. The sad thing is our waitress could have cared LESS.
