Dog friendly and super friendly in general! Attached to a restaurant so you can take your food and eat on the brewery side. I wasn't sure which beer I wanted to try so the bartender gave me a sample and when I decided poured a very full glass of the red dwarf. The brewery is dog friendly with a water bowl on the side and a big container of dog treats. The beer itself was good. There's some small seating areas inside. I was here during a tasting trail and had a sampler flight of 7 beers, which I believe is the number of taps they have. There was a nice mix of year round brews and rotating recipes. Normally I trend towards stouts but in this case Heart of Lothian was my favorite. My recommendation though is to try them all! They have an assortment of board games on tables inside - we played Trouble while sipping our brews. There are a few tables outside as well. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Let me start by saying this is a brewery that has great food available at the Grapevine Grill housed in the same building (and they will bring it to you) The beer here is great, UK & European style beer with some classic American ones. Nice quaint tap room, staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed their beer menu that had the in depth descriptions of each beer including the grains used, hops ect. All the beers were basic styles that were well crafted and balanced. Nothing blew me away, but I like all their beers, and I would drink them anytime. read more

Drop-In Brewing Company. Truth in advertising. It is what you actually do here. Drop in and have some samples of their tasty beer. It is just that simple. Samples are the name of the game here and they are free. If you like what you've tasted you can buy a growler. We did the tasting and bought a growler. Too easy. Beers like Sunshine and Hoppiness (Belgian style Golden Ale), Heart of Lothian (Shilling Ale) and Parklife ESB (Bitter) were on offer plus a few others and a cider. We tasted them all and walked out the door with a growler of the Heart of Lothian. Two stops into this trip and two breweries down. The beginning of a nice vacation. read more

On our recent "Vermont Beer and Cheese Tour," we almost slipped out of Middlebury without stopping by Drop-In Brewing, which would've been a shame; fortunately, the small sign caught our eye from the highway and we, er, dropped in and tried a sample of each of their four beers, all of which were crazy good (and stood up to the other 25 beers I tried in those few days). I especially liked Sunshine and Hoppiness--a hybrid ale made with Belgian yeast (providing a little effervescence and desirable funk), German malts, and citrusy American hops--and picked up a 1L "Squealer" for that evening. And though I'd rate Drop-In five stars on the beer alone, they also receive the Gold Star of Worthiness for being the home of the American Brewers Guild, which offers intensive training for practicing and would-be professional brewers as well as weekend workshops for homebrewers. A standout in a town full of good locally produced beer. read more

This is by far my favorite locals brewery that I just found! From the dog friendly atmosphere to the amazing beer, this place rocks. Where else can you cuddle up on a couch with your best furry friend, and have a pint?! They even have a few dog toys there! Their beers are very good and they are actually one of only three beer brewing schools in the country!!! read more

A-OK. That's just what Drop-In was when we stopped by on Saturday. Great vibe in the tasting room. Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots and Hungry Hungry Hippos on a table right when we walked in and tons of old steins, pints, and bottles lining the walls. Definitely a chill spot. The beertender was awesome. Super knowledgeable about the production and business in general and very friendly. I wasn't blown away by any of the six beers that I sampled, but each one was brewed to style and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. I almost walked out with a Sunshine and Hoppiness shirt, sooo cool, but I've been trying to get better about my impulse buys. Don't hesitate to drop on in! read more

We just happened upon Drop-In and it was an A-Ma-Zing find!!!!! To start with, great people!!!!! The beer is wonderful - ALL 7 were incredible!!! We tasted and loved - Bought a pint glass - They let us know about the next brewery coming up and offered us our passport cards to get stamped at the breweries. My favorite place to go to while vacationing at my summer lake house in Vermont. Seasonal selections of beer so there is always something new to try. Really crowded and there are no beers aside from ales and IPAs. Parking is semi limited and the place can be tricky to get in to. Blocked like a cool place, but IPAs shouldn't be basically the only thing served. read more

Been a die hard fan since this place opened. Hands down favorite brewery in VT. Drop-in is stellar at having a wide variety of beers (not just IPAs!) and they are constantly putting out new ones, all of which are consistently delicious and awesome. I was driving through the area and decided to DROP IN (LOL). Sat on a plush couch and had a 20oz of the Supernova IPA which was spectacular. Judging by the number of people walking in for growler fills, it's a local favorite. Food available at the grille next door, and they have their own parking lot. read more

Drop in is the best brewery in town! From sunshine and hopiness to their supernova IPA, the beers that they crank out are often great. Great small family run business. We really enjoyed the 4 beers they were tasting and the energy of this newish company. The ambiance isn't special but it is a working brewery rather than a gathering spot. You can purchase growlers of various sizes for a reasonable price. Also, they are located on the TAM trail on the south side of Middlebury for anyone looking for a walk with a rewarding destination. There is a sandwich shop next door (didn't try it this time) but had some great sounding menu items for lunch or dinner. We will definitely be back. read more
