I used to love this bar before it was taken over by Norton's. It had more of a local, family feel, and it always felt like a true neighborhood spot. I even won a gift card here back in the day and always loved the staff. Since the changes, though, something just feels different. I understand places evolve, but the atmosphere doesn't have the same charm it used to. The bartenders seemed distracted and more focused on doing their own thing. I ordered a Nutrl and it came out warm, which was disappointing. We also had a gift card that we were told couldn't be used because they changed systems. I understand transitions happen, but that was frustrating and left a bad impression. With so many other bars in Dunedin, whether you're looking for a dive bar or something more polished, this visit just didn't wow me. Okay, if you live in Clearwater, then you've passed this corner 1,000 times, Hercules and Sunset Point, and never realized that there was a hidden gem, called Two-Buks Saloon. Once you enter, please notice the two hanging bucks on the wall (to the right) but the reason for the name is deeper. Why is it called Two Buks? The original owners were the Buckley brothers and when they said that they were gonna open a bar in Clearwater, everyone told them that it was a horrible idea for the two Buc-kley brothers and that it would be successful 'when pigs fly'. Well "oink-oink" since 2002! Every successive year that they survived they hung a flying pig from the ceiling (the one above our head sported a pair of hyper realistic brass ones). The menu is pub food and it's old-school delicious. Wings, Mozzarella Sticks that are oozing and hot, tots and fries - oh my.... I don't know about you, but if I'm having a couple of rounds, I need me some delicious pub food to go along with the drinks. The food quality is better than it needs to be and we noticed. The ambience is fun, light with musical playlists that were easy and accessible with some deep cuts thrown in every now and then. Thank Caleb (the amazing bartender) along with the local patrons who have exceptional taste for a playlist. The bar features a full arrangement, plus tons of beers on tap and in bottles. One thing to note - if you order a draft beer it will be served in a chilled frosty beer glass (in an old school glass mug); little detail that makes a big impression. And if you opt for a Stella Artois on draft - yes they do serve it in the Stella Chalice stem ware, also chilled in the freezer (how cool is that?) Cool! You a games guy/gal? Great food, friendly people, affordable drinks. My only grievance is one of my best friends is a regular there. He's going through a tough time with the divorce of his husband. The song "YMCA" cheers him up, so as a nice friend I went on touch tunes and played this song. For whatever reason the bartender decided to skip it. I paid for those credits! Haven't been here in a while so came in to check it out. Lively place inside jukebox playing. He started with a couple of drafts. Nice and cold. Hubby got a bacon cheeseburger. He said it was delicious but wished it was more medium rare which is what we ordered. Next time we'll just ask them not so well done. Meat with nice and fresh though and toppings good. I got the beef teriyaki bowl. Meat was nice and tender and lots of veggies and rice. Definitely a good choice. I would add a little more spice but still a great choice. Service nice and friendly. So sad to see Chello and Wanda won't be there on Wednesdays as the new owners chose to not have them there every Wednesday. So many local people would visit Two Buks for a night out dancing that live locally. They have quite a following and Two Buks will lose a lot of business from them. Not a good business decision from the new owners. Saw Chello and Wanda at Safety Harbor Spa last night 1/10, and they draw a large crowd. Safety Harbor Spa gets it. We were trying out some new to us local bars and decided to check this place out. We walked in and my friend was able to order a couple drinks. I was standing next to him and after the bartender served him i figured he would serve me since i was right next to him but paying separate. Well i stood there staring at the bartender for atleast 10 minutes as he walked back and forth. He cashed out a check and served several other people as I stood there waiting. After 10 minutes i walked back to our table and told our group im not spending any money here and explained to them what happened. They finished their 2 drinks and we left and went to another bar. The bartender was horrible and pretty much ignored me. He either sucks at bartending or is extremely lazy. I wont ever go back. read more

Friendly Barkeep pouring and working the whole room deftly. Ordered sliders & they were quite tasty. Music was a mix of country and 80s, I think. No one gave a hard time about my service dog at bar, but on a good day the outdoor seating is available. TVs & lots of happy people with parking. It's not a dive bar, but has that feel. Luckily, this concrete jungle is replete with options if you're not down. I am sure there is an Appleby's or similar nearby. I have to give it to the bartender Erica, she is probably the best of the best! She can do it ALL and is as funny as she is stunning! She will make you feel welcome every time you see her and can give fun banter I have been looking for! The regulars refer to her as Cinamon for her red hair!And Jello shots in a syringe! We've been searching for a new place. Wings excellent, fries and onion rings. Excellent pizza was good. Tracy, the bartender/server jack of all trades, was amazing. When we told her it was our 1st visit, she welcomed us, gave us an overview of the menu, happy hour, and events, and it really made us feel welcomed and comfortable in the establishment. We got a variety of fries. Rings, wings, and pizza, a couple of soft drinks, and spent $33 plus tip, and we brought home leftovers. Next time will be less because we won't be over ordering to get a feel for the food quality. Looks like we found a new go-to spot when we want to go out without breaking the bank. read more

Proper medium-sized dive bar, no doubt. We didn't stay long, but I'm still going 4 star, and here is why. Bars get busy, and the first seats to go are around the bar. Folks at the bar get preferential and quick service. Folks at the bar tables that orbit the actual bar usually get shitty service, and have to wedge themselves in between the folks sitting at the bar to get refills. Well, not at Two Buks. The wait staff here is on the ball, and actually make frequent rounds to the bar tables picking up empties, and getting refill orders. I was highly impressed. This is a live music venue, so expect to have a band blasting music in your face on the weekends. The band playing this past Friday was excellent, though I didn't get their name. This is a smoking permitted establishment with food, which makes it a proper dive bar. read more

Nice little local place. Great for sports and some bar food when they have a chef. Adding more tv's. Making some nice little changes.

We have driven by this place a handful of times and never even noticed it. I love the 'Saloon' in the name. It is dark and huge inside. And smoky. Bartenders were both very friendly women. I ordered a Goose 312 and received the 420 IPA which as you IPA people know is a beer that smells like weed and once you drink it makes your breathe smell like skunk. M- M-M delish. Lol. Anyway, I don't mind it but I warned my drinking mate my breath will be stinky. The bathroom was decent. They have a nice menu actually which you should really check out. I would go back just for the food. All in all we really enjoyed our time here. We would return. read more

I placed a Food Order To Go and ordered a Beer with the Lady Bartender who was wearing the Eyeglasses while I was waiting. ... and waiting ..., a long while, = No Food Order; a 2nd Lady Bartender who was wearing a Bunny Suit asked me if I wanted a Beer. I said no know, I am still waiting on my Food Order. .... Time passes, still waiting on my Order ... now over 45 minutes the 3rd Bartender (a Guy) walks over asking if I want order a Beer. We gave this place a try based on a recommendation from our airbnb host and we weren't disappointed. He said Two Buks was a loud and smokey dive bar with live music and cheap drinks - and that's exactly what we were looking for. We were lucky enough to find two seats at the bar were immediately greeted and served by Logan (fun bartender with a good sense of humor). Made quick friends with the bar regulars to the left and right of us and had a really good time. The live band wasn't amazing, but they were definitely having fun on stage, interacting with the crowd, and put on an entertaining show with long sets and a good mix of music. If a smokey or loud environment isn't you thing then this probably isn't the place for you; but, if you're ok with both of those then definitely give Two Buks a try. This is definitely a 4-5 star dive bar, except I am not a smoker and the smoke can be so extreme some nights of it is halfway crowded. So the main reason for three stars is the smoke for me because I either have to shower when I get home or wash all my sheets the next day. With that said I think it is a pretty cool place for the area of Sunset. They have a few pool tables (not great condition but do the job) a dart machine, and pretty good bands. I've always liked the crowd when I've gone, never seen a problem and people seem overly nice and willing to talk or help you out ( dart game busted one night and like five people tried to fix it for us) never a long wait for a drink even on a crowded night. Two buks is just your average smoky hole in the wall neighborhood bar. Drinks are ok, prices also just ok. Last time I went the bartender was extremely slow and somewhat confrontational and snippy. The time before that, there was some drunk bikers belting out karaoke on stage. Not exactly my idea of pleasant or relaxing environment. We moved to town from Baltimore in February. We've been searching for a spot to call home. I think we've found it. Went on Saturday for live music. The local band sidewinder did 3 fun sets full of good ol' rock n roll. Van Halen, Journey, Zeppelin etc. They played with passion and precision. I've worked in music for 20+ years so I can be critical. I was very pleased with Sidewinder. We had such a great time we went back Wednesday for trivia. Beth who hosts it makes it fun and fair. The crowd really gets into which is awesome. The staff is friendly and hardworking. The prices are great especially the food. A very nice mix of traditional bar fare mixed with some bold menu items. All with local flare. The regulars are a fun bunch. Some natives others are transplants like us. It's an older crowd, but they are young at heart. My wife & I are in our late 30s and we were on the young side there. But these folks know how to have fun while keeping things under control as opposed to a lot of the beach bars with 20-30 somethings that can get obnoxious. Youwon't find a friendlier group of good hardworking folks. Two Buks is sure to be a regular spot for us. I can't wait to try every menu item in the next several weeks and months. I look forward to seeing more bands there as well. read more

This is a fun local dive bar. Don't get me wrong by calling it a dive bar. Some of the best bars are dive bars. This one is middle of the road. It would be higher on the list if you didn't reek of smoke just by walking in. The stage is of good size for the bar. The band Eccentric was fun. The drinks are not watered down and reasonably priced. But there is just too much smoke to make it a place I will go back to again. read more
